Baz, that part of the list pretty much mirrors what I've got in my 10-disc changer at this exact moment in time! NAS and Mary J in particular. 8) Also chill down to some soul classics like Sam Cooke, Otis, Stevie and pretty much all Motown stuff. :afro:

I went out in a mate's S3 after an AmD remap and it's a serious tool! The 4WD launch off the blocks and handling in the wet is awesome. I reckon it goes a long towards a weekend toy! Unless you drive aswell as Tiff, i'd say getting the most out of a TVR would be difficult - they don't even have ABS! S2000's are a bit hairdressery, and VX220...well a bit Vauxhaully!! (although I'd love a go in one then give it back after!)

Very tasty mate! You not tempted to add a Milltek zorst to this year's list? That would be the finishing touch 8)

The MK5 GTI is featured on it which is quite cool with some glimpses of the MK1 GTI which is always a treat!
-
I thought the GTI badge is normal for a 150pd TDI - check the 150 TDIs on ebay, the 2 I saw had the GTI badges.
-
would you buy under these circumstances?..............

Yeah, I agree, walk away. 9 years of no history (despite the low miles) is not ideal - with patience you'll find what you're looking for with the all important fully stamped book. -
Ive turned into a old fart since ive had the C ????

Ha! Me too how old and nerdy! Im only 23! Brown strides and a greenwoods Cardy when Im next shopping. LOL, although I must admit, once i've reached the magic 35mpg I reward myself for being well behaved by sacrificing a few mpg's with some heavy right foot action towards the end of the journey! ....just to remind me that it's a beast if it wants to be!! -
Alex, yeah I'm lovin the Passat too! The G40 is too superior and competant for the experiment they were carrying out on Top Gear - think they were proving that these modern chavvy Max Power machines have lost the essence of what a car should be able to do - handle like it's on rails firstly! The only good thing about the Pug was the sound system/PS2 and TV but I'd rather have all that in the lounge whilst sitting on a comfy sofa rather than weighing down the car!! 'kin chavs!

Tis all subjective though :-) Don't forget VW did a 'Jeans' edition beetle which had a hideous interior, but it floated someone's boat :-) Germans are more renowned for their solid cars that go on forever than their creative flair, although there aren't many German cars I detest. They even have a creative flair with interiors when they put their minds to it..... the TT being a good example there. True, it's down to opinion, but I'm seriously struggling to think of a nice looking French car apart from the 406 coupe which was designed by an Italian! Yet most Mercs, Porshes, Veedubs, Audis are good lookers....(IMO)

Yes it does! My mate has one with a milltek exhause on it, Sounds awesome!!! :thumbleft: I'll second that! :D
-
 You might think it looks awful, but surely you can't mention it in the same sentence as a corsa!?! Like Kev says, can a 3-door black one not even tempt you? It always amazes me how Germans famous for their lack of style and fashion sense (mullets, tashs, tight speedos on holiday etc) always design great looking cars, yet the French who are supposed to have style and flair design cars like the Renault Vel-sh*t-is!!!

I'd love to mate....and looking forward to that day!

I had a go in a MK5 140bhp GT TDI the other day and it was great fun! Turns in really well with sharp steering and obviously the torque is impressive........but getting back into the C on Koni's is no comparison..the C wins hands down! (a standard C would be a closer match!) Needless to say, my next car will be a Golf Diesel - if I can't afford a MK5, it'll be the MK4 anniversary GTI (TDI)

A great final episode for VAG. Audi RS4 winning best car, Veyron winning best driving experience, and the R32 trouncing the Beemer 130 on all counts! People on this forum have been quick to dis the new R32 but 3 seconds quicker round the track is impressive. It also looks less bling in silver cos it hides the chrome a bit more!! The sound of the engine is enough to make the hairs on your neck stand up. Just a shame they copied the cr*ppy exhaust from a Clio 182!!
-
I agree with Yandards, a tasty Oak Green Mk2 16-valver with factory leather, air con (J reg roll out edition obviously)...pure class. 8) Also, would have loved to have driven a brand new mystic blue Storm out of the show room in '95....was just a few years too young for that :(

Storm77 replied to PoorMansPorsche's topic in General Car Chat
LOL, it's kinda happening to me too! I used to drive by the seat of my pants in my old MK2 8V but the C has pacified me a bit. Partly cos I know i've got more power and don't need to prove anything and partly cos I'm a little obsessed in reaching 35mpg!! -
Feel quite sorry for my spoiler cos it happily goes up and down on every journey desperate for my attention....but I take it for granted these days and never even notice it!! Must admit it does look quite cool in 'attack mode' nailing it on the outside lane of the motorway, but from the inside it just blocks your rear vision. Much prefer it 'at rest'.

Corrado Spotting! Was it you? [Archive December 05]
Storm77 replied to PBSTORM's topic in General Car Chat
A white C yesterday morning in Swindon coming from Dorcan towards Covingham. Looked low, M3 rear lights. I flashed and got a wave back. Female driver....could hardly see over the steering wheel :) -
True, but you've gotta admit, the corrado suit is a particularly fine suit...tailored to perfection IMO! I agree that changing the dash and a full engine transplant would lose the corrado's characteristics, so I think i'd leave them be. But if you have the cash, why not take away some of the Corrado's imperfections such as lack of traction in the wet (better traction control and 4WD). The C's looks and the sound of the VR6 howl are the main attractions for me. Would I lose that howl if I bolted on some additional breathing apparatus?!......cos by todays standards it does need a bit more power to play with the big boys!
-
Quite like the idea of a 'go, baby go' button on the dash (much like the 'm' button on the M5) so that it drives normally for everyday use, then when you're at the lights next to something handy simply push the button to unleash hell!
-
I'd turn my C into the ultimate street sleeper....leave it looking pretty standard but give it serious power with 4WD....then go hunting for Rice to tussle with!
-
The trouble with the Foci RS/ST is they're loved by chavs....I hear them all talking in the about them at my gym and thinking 'yeah, that figures'. Also, in a few years time they'll be able to afford them and start fixing neons to them. Good cars, just sh*t image.
-
Another thing I do is leave my glove box open when parked up because opportunist are known to break in hoping that you left the head unit in the glove box. The worst thing is when people leave things on display and also have their 6 x 9's poking out of the shelf and not sunk in underneath the acoustic felt. Sorry to hear that cvw, it's horrible the thought of some toe-rag man-handling your car.
-
That's what I was thinking!...although sister of KITT cos I think she's female. I think she can only repair broken things, not worn things! From now on, if something's broken I'll leave it for two years and she'll eventually sort it. :)
-
When I first bought my car there were two niggly things wrong with it which I've been meaning to sort but not yet got round to it. The first was the lights not working on the heater control and the second is a rattly radiator fan. Whilst on a nice long drive yesterday, the heater console lights sprung into life after 2 years 8) When I got home, I heard the radiator fan kick in and after 2 years of sounding ropey, it sounded silky smooth!! Freaky!! Seriously made my day though....I love it when a plan (which wasn't planned) comes together! Also just got back from AmD for a general check-up and she was given a clean bill of health :) Only got 2 things left on my 'to do' list and I'm pretty much on top of things....happy days! :D
