Corrado Forum Car of the Year - Engine
Shilakadaddy replied to Shilakadaddy's topic in General Car Chat
 I'd like to include a spec list for everyone on this one actually, for those reasons... unfortunately I don't know everyones spec myself, and if it ain't in their gallery, then I'm lost  Gibber_2k added your spec list :) And for the less technical among us, could people sending me their spec list post estimated bhp or torque figures, as I think most people know what the engine produces as standard, and will give them a better idea of how much work has gone into an engine :) I'll go look around for other peoples specs now -

Neil G60 added to the list - if a mod could include him in the poll that would be great :) -

Was thinking about this the other day, thought I'd bring it back to life :) Jim did you ever find out anything more about a Brunters day? I'm sure people wouldn't want to go in the winter weather... but no harm in getting things organised for the spring :) I still think its a great idea 8)

theres no specific rules for it... just people that have kept the original look, and gone for very subtle changes. Obviously people have gone for different wheels, but as long as nothing looks out of place - wheels can't be chrome  Vents I'd say aren't really in keeping with original.. some smoothing would fit, but nothing too major... I'd just have to judge on the overall look of the car.. I'll start setting up the proper threads now :) -

of course, just need a couple of pics of your car... and which section would you liked to be placed in? -
Corrado Forum Car of the Year - Nominations
Shilakadaddy replied to Shilakadaddy's topic in General Car Chat
I can't edit the poll itself, only a mod can do that (i think) and theres a maximum of 10 options in a poll, therefore none of the new people suggested can be added to this particular poll... thats why we're making this overly complex solution of splitting the nominees up into 3 categories so we can fit more people in. doublezero - the final result of who's is the thought to be the best corrado on the forum won't be decided for a couple of weeks I guess - give everyone a chance to vote :) Gman who's car are you showing me? -

Corrado Forum Car of the Year - Nominations
Shilakadaddy replied to Shilakadaddy's topic in General Car Chat
the new list: Original - MoonlightVR - OSV - KevHaywire - VR6 Modified Bodywork - A20 LEE - Cheesy - G60Dan - G60Renshaw - Doublezero - ScruffyDubbers Modified Engine - Banana Man - Henny - PhatVR6 - Gibber_2k - Maddub - Jurgen TDI These are the people I have in the running. I know Biggerbigben should be in there, but his car hasn't been revealed yet, and therefore can't have the 2004 car of the year title (suddenly sounding like an official award  ) I'll try find decent pictures of all these cars, and set up 3 threads (which a mod will then have to turn into a poll) later on - may take me a while. Then after a week or so, I'll take the top voted person out of the Original poll, and the top 2 people out of Engine and Bodywork. These people will be forwarded into a final poll to decide which car everyone likes the best overall :) So if everyones happy with that, I'll start sorting it out :) -
Corrado Forum Car of the Year - Nominations

Ok I'm liking the 4 categories... although is the Engine Transplant / Drivechain section needed? PhatVR6, Biggerbigben, Coxylaad and Maddub would be in that section, however since the only one finished is Maddubs should we be judging the others yet? Phat - what's the current state of your car? and which section would you put yourself in (the stongest or most unique area of your car) when the car was in a driving state... namely before you started the R32 transplant? doublezero, the reason everyone isn't listed is because we'd have 3228 members to choose from... and the outcome would still probably the same as this one. Also would you like to be included in this, as your car does look rather cool 8) Have you got any slightly higher res images of your car as the ones on car domain are a little small? List so far: Original MoonlightVR OSV KevHaywire Modified Bodywork A20 LEE Cheesy G60Dan G60Renshaw Engine Banana Man Henny Transplant Maddub PhatVR6 ??? not sure where to put ScruffyDubbers.. will have to ask him -

Added Maddub and ScruffyDubbers to the picture list, although theres no room for them on this poll... we'll have to make more polls as suggested in order to accommadate all the entrys... We shouldn't need more than 3 categories, that means up to 30 cars can enter, 10 in each category What should we have then? The main seperation I can think is Appearance, inside and out (A20 LEE, G60Renshaw etc.) and Engine / Drivechain (Henny, Banana Man etc.). I can't think of a third category tho... and do we really need one? What does everyone think? -

well what we could do is split this into a number of seperate polls... for example using coolrado's suggestion of best original, looks, performance etc.... then take the winners from each of these and put them into a final poll of best overall, where you choose the one you like the most for whatever reason.... -
Not sure if anything like this has been set up before, but I thought it would be interesting to vote on what we as a forum think is the best car on this forum. This is just the nomination stage in order to determine who should be entered into the poll. I'll start by nominating a few members that I think stand out: A20LEE Banana Man Cheesy G60Dan G60Renshaw Henny MoonlightVR OSV PhatVR6 Kevhaywire ScruffyDubbers Maddub I'd like to include others such as Biggerbigben, PhatVR6 and CoxyLaad, but as these are still 'Work in Progress' cars, I thought they could enter next year  Please add your nominations to the list. You may nominate yourself or someone else. Nominate cars that you feel could be called the 'best corrado on this forum'. Only forum members may be included. If you get nominated and do not wish to be included in this, then just say and I won't add you to the poll when it happens. The Nominations do not have to be just for best looking or performing Corrado, but rather the car (or selection of cars) you like the most for any reason. I'll not set up the poll until the end of december in order to give people time to add their nominations to the list (and time for me to work out how to create a poll - do I need to be a mod to do this??) Also would be useful if you could include a couple of pictures of the cars you're nominating so we all know who exactly we are voting for. Nominations Please :D Chris *EDIT* The new polls have been added Original + >> http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic.php?p=191302 Bodywork >> http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic.php?p=191303 Engine >> http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic.php?t=18357

I have to admit that the tuning on a DTurbo transforms it.. after I did mine it did 0-60 in around 9.5 seconds ... which is quite impressive really  never raced a golf tho, so couldn't say how it would have performed against them -

however the turbo diesel versions have 90  I used to own one.. and thought it was fast back then  -
I still don't like the back, the front has definately grown on me... and the gti version certainly looks a lot better than the bog standard models. But the boot is ugly in my eyes... maybe its the lights I don't like. None the less certainly sounds like it'll be a winner... does amuse me however that VW have milked the success of the Mk1 for all these years to try premote new golfs
