Got a reply from Stealth, and they said I don't have a Cam fitted. So that spec above is everything done to the car engine wise... also said that after they fiddled with it, it had 195bhp. Hopefully I'll be able to push it over the edge, and get over 200 :)
-
excellent thanks :D

Thanks for the quick reply :) whats the map sensor then? I think I'm running standard cam yes (although I'm yet to ask Stealth.. I'll email them now). As for checking the pipework, I'm guessing I'm just feeling for air escaping while the cars running? Cheers :)

oh also I think the figure was about the same (definately 19xx) before the charger rebuild...
-
Well I've just done a Boost Check on the G60 since getting it back up and running after having the charger rebuilt... and the max figure was 1950 (which according to the guide thing is less than it should be) My Car spec: 68mm Pulley Stage 4 G-Werks Charger Gas Flowed Head Jabba Chip Boost return removed Carbon Canister Removed (not sure if that would do anything?) Supersprint Exhaust Don't think theres anything else performance wise to mention I remember reading somewhere that if you have a gas flowed head then the results will be lower... but should it only be less than 1 bar, when the guide suggests it should be 1.2 bar? So should I be looking for any boost leaks etc. and if so where do I look and how do I check? Cheers, Chris

lmao! thats just what I was thinking   I think it could be improved a LOT just by changing some small things... still wouldn't look good for a corrado, but would certainly look better than it does: Raise the ride height slightly and widen the wheels Change the grille Set fire to the interior, then rebuild it without the audiobahn crap then it would actually look kinda cool... not good... but kinda cool

sony ain't the worst equipment around or anything like that... they're just way over priced.. you pay for the gimmicky shapes and features which do nothing for the sound. But if you get it for half normal price then thats ok I guess... although if you can get other makes for half price too then I'd look into seeing what else you could get  Edit: Actually I should limit these anti-sony comments to the X-plop range.. they have done some fantastic high end equipment in the past. However these aren't the most profitable, so they don't tend to do it anymore :(

do the supersport coilovers drop that low? they were £390 last time I asked - inc. delivery
-
don't use sony  You can find much better audio equipment for the same price if you look around. Have a wander over to http://www.caraudiodirect.com and see what you can get for your budget... just as long as its not sony

don't really know much about them to be honest  They're 16" x 7.0" I believe, however I don't know the offset. They fit onto the C with no problems, but for the best look I think I'd put 20mm spacers on (which I'm tempted to do). The front 2 need refurbing I think... the fella that sold me the car said he used some really abbrasive pads on them, which covered them in brake dust which he didn't clean off for a while, and now won't come off at all! The back 2 are in great condition, and none of the wheels have kerbing on them. Got 2 new tyres on the back (Eagle F1's), and the fronts are about half worn.. I think what I'm indending to do is replace the wheels when I need new tyres. So by the time I come to sell these, 2 new front tyres will be needed, and the backs will be half worn (or maybe not that bad since they're on the back and won't get as much wear) :)

ok thanks guys, now I can finally tell him to shut up on about it!

My flatmate keeps going on about resetting the ECU on my car, telling me its the best thing in the world to do and that my car will run amazing well after doing it! He however owns a standard Peugeot 306 Rallye, and I own a modified G60... So what I'm wondering is if resetting the ECU will do any good considering my car has a Jabba chip (possibly custom mapped.. I don't know) and if it will, how do i do it? Cheers, Chris

I think the wheels you've got suit it down to the ground! If you could find some of the same style in 17's (maybe with less spokes to make it look less cluttered with having a smaller wheel) and your laughing :) Not too helpful as I can't suggest any, but thats the kinda style I'd look for at least

my wheels? Cos I'd love to get some new ones if you'd be interested in purchasing? :D probs couldn't happen for a while as I have no money, but if I could sell my old ones I wouldn't have to raise as much cash from elsewhere

Update: Car's been off the road for about a month getting some work done to it. It was due a charger rebuild, so I sent that off to G-werks for a stage 4 (already had 68mm pulley, so figured it'd be worth the extra money). Also figured while I couldn't drive it as it had no supercharger, I'd sort a few other things too... Fitted Oil Cooler Replaced filter with K&N panel filter Removed Air box Snorkel Boost return Mod Removed Carbon Canister Replaced Spark Plugs with W5DPO Changed engine oil for Quantium Silver 10W40 Resprayed passenger door Finally got the car back this week, and have since covered my 'run in' period of 250 miles with the new charger. It drives sweet now... difficult to tell if theres been a performance increase, as I was without the car for so long, but I'm happy none the less. I'm finding the noise of the boost return dump highly amusing!! :) I think it does make the car sound and feel a lot more powerful, lol! Anyway gave it a real good wash at my flat mates parents house, and he gave his car a good wash too... so we took some pictures which I'll add to the thread later on :) But this one is cool, photoshopped, but still think it looks sweet :D pic thumbnailed-vr6storm Chris :)

cool, but what kind of store would these be available from? I don't think I've ever noticed that sort of thing before while shopping

Thats what I tried the first time.. although speaking to my dad about this he thinks it may be the material used. A small piece of brass was pushed into the hole (like a rod that filled the hole nicely, with a larger diameter end on it so that it didn't go too far in). I used a similar sort of thing on the smaller vacuum pipe too. What I was thinking of trying was injecting silicon rubber into the pipe, covering the inside of the hole in the throttle body so that it doesn't go too far. That should completely eliminate the hole, whereas with the brass there was probably some gaps. Although it supprised me that the tone of the whistle never changed at all depending on what I tried...

I have a very annoying whistle on part throttle (sounds kinda like a fan belt slipping sound, but definately a whistle, rather than actually a fan belt slipping). I've removed the boost return and the carbon canister - both at the same time, and I'm guessing it has something to do with one of those. I know other people said they got a whistle when removing the carbon canister, so assumed it was this. I also blocked off this pipe actually inside the pipe itself - hopeing this would get rid of the whistle, but apparently it didn't work. So remembering what Dubcharged said above, I connected a long pipe (the original pipe that was connected) onto it, and blocked the end of that instead. However it did nothing, the whistle didn't go away (and didn't even sound any different). I also tried removing the pipe altogether and not blocking it at all... but this had no effect either! So.... I'm confused! :( Seems to me it isn't that pipe thats making the sound... but I can't tell what is, as it only does it when driving (I can't just rev the engine and make it whistle). Anyone know what it is, or what to do about it? I've attached an image of the pipe I've been playing with, incase my description has got you lost and confused :) Cheers, Chris

it looks similar... just chopped up differently. Plus the bar moulding along the bottom of the piece on the left wouldn't fit over the centre column part in the C...
-
and possibly change the phase on the amp - play it by ear (are you only having one sub per enclosure?)
-
sweeeeeeeeet! :D I'm gonna have a skyline before I'm 25 (or when I'm 25) probs be an R33.... I'm probably dreaming, but hey :D
-
Who's claimed that title then?
-
I hope so :D and Darren yeah I meant spirited driving :D
-
Door spraying has gone well :) Hopefully should have my car back on the road tomorrow... then have to drive 250miles on my new charger (is that right?) before I can flog it!! :D
