more like £3500 for 300+bhp.[/quote:b9181] Well actually more like 1500 with vat (which i wouldn't pay) for 315bhp. Maybe it was 305 but definately a smidgen over 300. I guess without internal engine mods it would blow up quite quickly. I'd be happy with a 265 rechip.

I haven't sold up mate. Probably will though. But then I may keep the rado and just sell some of the more expensive bits off it. I know what you mean about the s3 but i want something modern, fast and safe for the kids.
-
Another one here! I've just secured a loan for an S3 :) Maybe a little dull compared to the C, but also nicer inside, more toys, etc. And you can get 315bhp out of them for about 1200 quid! :) :)

Smiffys daily g60 (Show pics bottom of page 2 )
double-6s replied to smiffy-g60's topic in Members Gallery
Yeah it does. You get some really wierd shades coming out of the met black in certain light. Very cool colour mate. -
In my experience of lowered VR's, the sump is the last thing you need to worry about. Only ever touched mine once and that was cos I didn't notice a kerb!!!! :) Arches are you main problem.
-
I'm selling them because i've had enough of the rado mate. I fancy something more modern.
-
VR mate. They always used to be adjustable, but the newest version isn't. Not a problem for me personally. The money is for quality not adjustment - they are the most serious looking dampers i've ever seen. Huuuuge pistons! Definately pulling them off mate - and nothing else will be going on. Except maybe some bricks to hold the car up while i strip everything else off!! :)
-
The RSS Clubsports have absolutely no damping adjustment whatsoever. They are fookin hard all the time. If you want to stop movement at the front end, and completely eliminate dive under braking, then they're the fellas for you. The most rock solid body control i've ever experienced. Stick with 15 inch wheels though if i were you mate - much better ride quality due to the nice squidy side walls. Mine are pretty definately gonna be up for sale very soon if you're interested. Me do velly good price for you iiingaleesh man :)

I'm not too bothered mate. It's just a car to me. I love it, but only cos it's a good car, not because it's a corrado. If you know what i mean?
-
I'm just absolutely fed up of things breaking/falling off/dying. The latest bits are the suspension (over a grand's worth retail) - looks like at least one of the front dampers has blown, and the gearbox - apparently it couldn't take the savagery of the new engine! Thats not to mention the recent wheel bearing, brakes, etc, etc. I've just had enough now! Thinking of an S3/4motion/R32 or something similar. Just got a fat pay rise so might as well loan myself up one time!! :) May keep the rado - not sure yet. I hate it personally at the moment :) duke_st, if I do get rid, there will be many goodies up for sale! Brand new VAG engine, schrick intake mani and cams, 6 branch, miltek exhaust and sport cat, CDA, H&R RSS Clubsport coilies, black diamond brakes, black leather, air-con system, etc, etc.

Lower ya big Jessy! :) (very nice mate. want any bits off mine cos it's going soon!!)
-
How about EIP Tuning in AMERICA? They do rebuild kits. Not cheap though.
-
Very helfpul.
-
Cheeky begger! :) Mine does get the nuts ragged off it, but only when it's warmed through!
-
Is it a vr mate? imo 7.5 inch wheels with an offset of around 30/35 look spot on with a vr. Takes the wheels out to pretty much the edge of the arches and makes the whole car look mean as fek. 16 is probably the best compromise i reckon. Noticeably less squidging around on the wobbly tyre walls than with the 15s.
-
I thought the VGI was a slightly better design? Probably wrong though....
-
Both very similar.
-
205 is spot on with a 7.5 mate. Little narrow for an 8 inch though - it stretches a bit. Trouble is when you go up to a 215 you get far more arch eating tyre issues - i tried, and althjough the difference in width is small, it makes all the difference.
-
205/45/16 or 205/40/17 mate. You'll definately notice a drop in comfort with the 17s compared to the 16s. And a bit less precise turn-in on the 16s. Maybe a bit less grip on the 16s. But it will feel more 'nimble' and chuckable on the 16s. Horses for courses.

If their all the same that must be a good thing? Oil on over-run is head isn't it?

round hole on vr engine block with major oil leak
double-6s replied to adamukcorrado's topic in Engine Bay
If there's a hole and it's p*ssing oil, i'd say there should definately be a plug of some sort in there! -
In my experience loads of things start going wrong on the vr at about 100-120,000 miles. I've never had a minter though, so they've probably always been ragged (certainly have been since the moment I got them!) :) Several people have got way higher mileage cars with no problems though.
-
T*T :) Dunno yet mate. Might buy something non-car related for a change. New mixer maybe?
-
I reckon they would look fekin sweet as mate. 15x8 on the rear i reckon. Can you re-do that shop to make em a bit smaller? That looks like about 17s on there.
-
Sorry dude! Assumed you'd sorted one :( TBH there are a few bits I should have taken off for mine, but i just got sick of looking at the bleedin thing! I can buy a new toy now with the proceeds! :)
