Yep. Thats what I'm after next Mr Haywire. Savage acceleration! :) I was thinking from a 1.3 litre golf or something!!!! (joke)
  2. Yeah. The thing is people in this country are massive brand snobs, and seem to think that VW aren't as good/posh as audi/bmw. I'd rather be a dude in a dub than a tw*t in a beemer any day of the week! :)
  3. There's also a set of Borbet A's on the first car :)

Try ebay mate - there's quite often one or two on there.

I hear what you're saying Kev, about the peak torque being narrow. But the increase in torque is noticeable over a much bigger range. But saying its effective range is 400 rpm starting at 4000 revs is just not true.

:) Wow that looks like a quality bit of kit dr_mat
  7. Or you could just get a VR ;)
  8. I think the 1.8 is faster than the 2.0 mate. Not sure about the fuel consumption figures though. Just get a VR mate - you know you want to :)
  9. Hmmm.... Are the final drive ratios listed there correct? They don't seem to be.....
  10. You can see the quality of life in west sussex from the pic.... A 'racing' diesel mondeo outside the lancing burger bar! Quality :)
  11. The sticker reads 'Powered by Diesel' No sh*t mate!!

What!?!!! Nonsense!!! The Schrick's torque fattening is over by 4000 revs. It doesn't start there!! It starts at around 2700 or so like he said above. And it doesn't last 400 rpm's, it is effective over approximately 1500 revs. I have heard that if you gas flow a schrick you get 7 million extra lb/ft!!!! ;)
  13. End of the month mate - not sure exactly but I'll let you know. :)
  14. Yeah the pipes are at the top rear of the engine bay mate. You need a 22mm u-bend copper/plastic pipe and thats it. You can either go to a plumbers merchant and get one made up, or go to B&Q who do a 22mm flexible copeer pipe (pipe repair kit) that fits a treat and can be bent into he right shape easily. Original clips go back on. I did mine yesterday in ten minutes.
  15. Well, you can extropolate from the times and weight, just how much power the car is making. He rolling roaded the car at various stages. Like I said, it was making 225whp at the end of it's career. That's unheard for a stock 2.8 with a tired bottom end. Fastest time ever was an 11.7, and no other N/A trim vr6 has ever matched that. Trap speed was around 114mph I think. Yeas, but you can't extrapolate anything about getting 20 hp from flowing the head can you?!! There's only one way to prove it, and thats a dyno standard and a dyno with flowed head. Simple.
  16. Who's doing the flow work mate? Is it the fella at Allstage?
  17. I bet you rag the arse off it Dave! :) Its only a hunk of metal after all ;)
  18. Thanks mate :) And yeah I'll be bringing her over - I'll let you hear what a real engine sounds like ;)
  19. Its the fitting the new downpipe thats causing the delay Dave - apparently I have to get off my a*se to fit it!! I mean.....how bloody unreasonable :)
  20. Hmmm..... I rang my insurance company yesterday for a quote on a 1.0 micra (came across a cheap one recently) and it was 40 quid MORE than the Rado!!!! Do they get nicked loads or something???
  21. Watch this space mate. My blue one (with 81k) is about to appear on the market in the very same ballpark price-wise - lots nearer to you as well! :)
