  1. Absolutely. Personally I think Alpine are better than similarly priced sony, kenwood, etc, etc, units.
  2. Top end rebuild for 3.5k????? Did they rebuild it out of gold or something mate?
  3. You've made that frame as a floor instead of using a rallye floor?
  4. Sorry mate, just jumped in at the end of this thread to see your boot floor frame! Eh? Can you explain please?
  5. Alpine are very good for the money. Around the 150 quid mark buys you a pretty good head unit these days. I got a free alpine ipod connector with mine that allows you to pug the ipod in properly without loss of quality, and control it from the head unit. It will also play mp3's if ya like. Something like this will do the job quite nicely but it all depends on your budget ma'am...... http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/product ... ts_id=4679
  6. Im not too far from that scenario mate! :)
  7. That can be dangerous with you Will  :) Thats what my bank manager thinks Dave :)
  8. I'd say it was leaning more towards 'need' than 'want' mate! Loads of smoke Piston slap 'Significant' oil consumption  It sometimes oiled up plugs in a matter of hours. :)

Agreed. And you'll be amazed how much better that will make your wheels look! :)
  10. Have you checked that the leads are all properly 'plugged in' inside the connector bit? They pop out if pulled out instead of using a tool. This would definately make it sound like a scooby, as would leads being the wrong way round. Or a shagged coil pack. Good luck
  11. Did you really write that mate? She's gonna find you hard to resist with an intro like that!
  12. yeah it is eh!! i'm not planning on doing it - just idle dreaming :)
  13. Cheers mate. So are there any syncros still around? Sorry I am dumb - are we talking Mk2? Can you get a boggo 1.6 syncro or something?

    WHy??

Errr..... Ask me one about flat roofs instead mate :)
  15. Howdy Trig. It's not a rebuild mate. It is a new fully built head and new block & pistons. They've used a 2nd hand crank and then built up the bottom end and bolted it all together. Put it this way - a brand new engine fitted by Vince is costing less than a stealth rebuild! But that was months of waiting for the head and block to turn up on ebay at a good price!!
  16. Hi I was just wondering how much all the necessary gubbins would cost for a 4 wheel drive conversion (excluding labour). Approximately. And would it be cheaper to get hold of syncro or haldex running gear? Cheers
  17. 'brakes failed' eh? Hmmm...... did I read the word 'she' in that report? ;)
  18. I haven't got a clue to be honest mate. Vince will do a safe map for while it runs in, then do it properly after. I just want grunt and throttle response though - not really chasing high bhp figures. That will have to wait for chargeness in the future matey :)
  19. Dude you David Hasslehoff hero type!!! :) Fair play for getting in there mate. Nice one. Glad you're ok :)
  20. Yeah I can't stop buying things for mine at the moment! Just a few slight mods.... I will get it dyno'd but got to run it in first :( Trip to Dam coming up me thinks :) Haven't got a clue what it will kick out though - 220 maybe?
  21. No one's inferior to me dude!! We're all equals here :) Mate you should have seen it though. I didn't want to leave - I just wanted to stay all day and watch the fella!
  22. I would have just told him he's a miserable pr*ck and gone elsewhere.
  23. I went up to stealth yesterday to have a look how they're getting on with the car........ It was like something on 'overhauling' off of the telly! :) An old geezer who's been building engines longer than I've been p*ssing carefully assembling my new motor in the corner. All spangly and new! Not really sure why I'm posting this but I just wanted to share how it made feel all warm inside :) Can you marry an engine?
