  1. Wheels are either BBS RX or SSW speeds. 3mm minimum from caliper body to spokes.
  2. Cheers Pete! Helen tells me I need a sanity check.
  3. It could be mistaken for a soft centred sweet though. Or an armadillo...
  4. or powder coated turd? The postman would be happier
  5. He he, you'll end up doing wat i've done and getting literally everything done! It protects well though.
  6. No, wish I did, place called Wessex metal finishers here you are. http://www.wmf-uk.com he only charges a small amount, tenner for these, and they have been laquered.
  7. I'll have some bits at the weekend, I can post up pics then. Won't be using soon though!
  8. I bought some brembo calipers a while back off ebay cheap, they were actually brand new, but they came off an Aston Martin and so had their branding on them. I tried spraying them with halfords silver caliper spray but wasn't happy with the result. They marked too easily and the finish wasn't the best, but that might of been my spraying :D I decided that I might as well get them powder coated as my car isn't going to be finished sometime yet. This is a pain in the ass though because powder coating involves three processes, grit blasting, and then heating before spraying on the powder which then melts to form a nice even coat. That meant I had to totally strip my calipers to protect them from the grit getting into unwanted places, and to stop the rubber bits from getting sprayed etc. I siliconed little covers roughly the same size as the pads onto the surface, and then plugged any holes with old bleed nipples. I thought these calipers were identical to the Seat ones but they aren't; the pots are slightly smaller, which means less asistance, but more feel. I've got a set of the Seat dust caps if anyone wants them, £20. (for 1 caliper) Anyway that's it, just got to bolt them back together and take off the coating on the mating surfaces where I forgot to mask up  Corrado92.pdfP121108_19.30.JPG[/attachment:1h1m9qxx]passat climatronic wiring diags.pdfP121108_19.31[01].JPG[/attachment:1h1m9qxx]climatronic wiring-Golf from May 01.pdfP121108_19.32.JPG[/attachment:1h1m9qxx]2.8l 24v Climatronic system.pdfP121108_19.33.JPG[/attachment:1h1m9qxx]P121108_19.35[03].JPG[/attachment:1h1m9qxx]
  9. Always glad to help chap.
  10. Yeah mate not problems there.
  11. Gaz, phoned up this morning to get some for myself! I was a bit out on the lengths, but it's still cheap. It's all 50mm wide. The heat wrap comes in two types, foil backed and plain. The foil backed is what we used. The foil is actually 100mm wide, and the wrap is placed centrally in in so you have a 25mm strip of foil either side of the wrap. The plain is £4.02 per 5m roll.(16ft) The foil backed is £6.00 per 5.5m roll The thermoplastic is £11.45 per 5m roll. The company don't usually deal with the public but they will take card orders :-) Strictly speaking the foil backed stuff (re-enforced foil) I think is for keeping heat out of a pipe (like air con ducts etc) but it does offer a degree of protection for the wrap inside it, just not as well as the thermoplastic.
  12. I didn't order it chap as it was at work. I do know there is a £40 minimum order though, and it's only £5 (ish) for fourty feet for the wrap, and £11 for the thermolastic, I may be wrong. Best to speak to them, but I was shocked at the low cost of it compared to how well it performed.
  13. Just thought you might like to know..... Having done extensive testing of wraps (16 in all) at work this stuff came out tops, it's 3rd best for heat barrier (but the top two were VERY expensive) but miles in front of all the others for ease of use. Basically you get two wraps, one is the thermal barrier, and the other is a thin elasticy tape you wrap over it, both 3 inches ish wide, you simpy wrap thermal stuff on first, securing it with a bit of masking tape at the beginning end, putting on as many layers as you like (1layer =4mm) and then you cover over it in the elastic wrap, which bonds to itself when it is first heated forming a watertight skin. This means not only can you wrap straight over flexis without fear of it coming undone, but you have no stainless zip ties to contend with either. It also proves to be a very effective way of protecting the wrap as well as it totally prevents water and dirt ingress. It's not expensive either, infact it's cheap compared to most wraps. I could not reccomend this stuff enough. :D http://www.culimeta-saveguard.com/therm ... efault.htm PS, the pics make it look very thick, it's not, it's just been wrapped lots of times.
  14. Yeah you're totally right, but it's almost easier to use than filler, but the price is a little higher... A good quality bodyshop is very hard to find, many places you go to don't have the skill base to do anything but unbolt panels, fill them, and spray. It's a shame but the way of the world. The skilled metal working places do really well though and have long waiting lists.....
  15. If you are doing this the best thing to use is lead over a steel strip, not filler. It's more flexible.
  16. I must admit, I was originally thinking I didn't wan't to cut the loom up incase I wanted to put mine back to original Storm status. Then i thought whilst reading reply's on this thread, just how original is the 3.2 motor going in  ? I will be taking the snips to my plugs shortly.....
  17. 4" tailpipes! Too chav for my liking.
  18. Top job mate. What kind of exhaust tip are you having? Personally I think a really plain unchromed 2.5" oval like oe but not at an angle and cut flush with the exit, like an E46 M3 but single oval instead of twin round.
  19. Well done Karl!! makes me want to rush mine a bit more now hearing it :D Will have to see it in the flesh at some point...
  20. hey no worries Pete, you're one of the most polite people I've ever met I think!
  21. Is there a good reason as to why there are two different sized union adapters going into my ABS unit from the brake pipes? I noticed they are different on quite a few Corrados..
