loving both the A4 and the mk4 ideas, one word of advise though, from my years of experience of working on Ford radios, if you can, try to fit the cup holder below the radio, I saw to many radios scrapped because coffee had spilt in the holder and when put back in the dash it drips straight into the radio and eats the PCB. Coffee is very corrosive to PCBs

Some seriously nice work there and a hell of alot of wood, how much does it weigh? Liking the door builds, may just have to steel the idea ;) I've been looking to see if some small slim boxes could be fitted in the doors to improve the sound

No worries, keep it in mind if the rest doesn't work I used to fix ford radio's for a living and you wouldn't believe how many radios were replaced under warranty for a dirty or corroded removable panel

If removing and replacing the front fixes it, then it could be the connections between the front panel and the main part of the radio Give them a clean with some fine emery or a glass fiber brush

I run Fiat coupe discs on mine (when it was on the road) I got a machine shop to enlarge the center bore and drilled the bolt holes so they are 1mm larger
