What about if the base is shabby? Can you replace them?
-
The back seats are in the way!
-
Just get a really big heavy one that wont move! :) Or a rubber mat.
-
Surely wider wheels mean more resistance therfore worse MPG?
-
So I can't have them then?
-
http://www.millemiglia.co.uk/bigwheel.p ... odelID=230 Ahem!

Doh! Guess I should have come here before ordering the Rieger Grill this morning! Thanks for the offer but I've gone down the aftermarket route! However, if you want to sell your wheels for the price of a beer than that'll do me! :)
-
It'll cost me triple that to get there and back though! Plus I'm edging towards the Rieger one. Doh! Decisions!
-
The Rieger Grill's just ahead at the mo! Arrrrrgh!

Outside. See 'Door Sill Options' in exterior.

Ok, with the car going into the bodyshop at the end of the month I have a decision to make. My front grill is broken so I need to do something. I can't decide between a Rieger Grill and brow (£76 delivered) or a new VW Grill for £39? I've being thinking about this for weeks and still undecided! I know its my decision but any thoughts of inspiration perhaps? :?

Todays conversation with a VW parts desk. -------------------------------- Me: Can I have some prices for a Corrado? VW: Whats a Corrado? Me: It's a VW. VW: Are you sure? Me: Do you want the chassis number to prove it? VW: Yeah, go on then. little bit later on..................... Me: An electric mirror switch, part of the drivers side door handle. VW: Hmm, can't seem to find it. Me: Mine doesn't work so it'd definately there. VW: From what I remember Corrado's haven't got electric mirrors? Me: But you'd never heard of them before speaking to me? VW: Errr, I'll have another look. ......little bit more later on............ VW: Hmm, according to this, the Corrado rear badge is free! Me: Eh? VW: Yeah, price = £0.00 Me: Is it really, then I'll have 5 please. (with a hint of 'your an idiot' in my voice) VW: Ok, then. Oh, wait a minute, it's no longer sold sorry. and finally......... Me: Ok, I'll order these parts................, thanks. VW: Do you have the part numbers? Me: How would I have them? VW: Sorry, what we're you wanting again? I've shut the system off and I haven't written down any of the part numbers, thought you just wanted a price. Me: You're an idiot aren't you? VW: Sorry, didn't catch that? Me: Ok, this is what I want! VW: Ok, ready now. Me: 2x washer jets, not heated. VW: Ok, 2 washer jets, non heated for a Passat. Ok, next. Me: (Hangs Up!)

What colour smoke? Black is better than blue! As in cheaper! What mine was mainly doing (still burns small amounts of oil) was over fuelling due to the temp sensor being faulty and telling the ECU wrong info, which in turn led it to put more petrol in and on the overrun that built up in the exhaust and as soon as you accelerate, pooof, it burns it all. -
I asked Andy this and he told me it wasn't that much of a prob? Diff axle something and subframe is all thats needed.

Best to take it to an expert but I'd try these first as it sounds like a carbon copy of mine. Piston ring wear can only be solved by a head rebuild (expensive!) so try these first. Easiest thing to do is change the oil to Silkolene Pro S (opie oils cheapest) and clean/replace your sparks as well as cleaning the breather pipes and throttle body. Air Temp sensor might not do anything but I needed one, (only about £10 from VAG). However, it could be a knackered engine, til someone like PSI look at it it's only guess work. -
There's nothing there?

Where do you go for something like this? My bodyshop doesn't polish I know that much? Is it a specialist thing?
