That was p**s funny! Nearly wet myself!

Well, half way through a journey, they stopped workiong again. Then this morning they were fine? And once more, half way through the journey back, they stopped working again? I bet they're fine tomorrow! Any thoughts?
-
Well, they've started working again! No probs at all? The only thing I can think it might be, is that I was in heavy traffic for at least 40mins, just crawling. It didn't get really hot or overheat but the fans were off and on a lot. Oil never went above 112c. Could this be heat related as the ABS light came on as well, but that has also cured itself. Heat issues a known thing on a VR?

Oh, and he did say you need 2 of those, apparently one is longer than the other for the golf. Thats the shorter of the two.

Mk4 Wiperblade = VW1J2955425B Cost = £10.48 inc VAT

Apparently I do have aircon, my mech had a quick look under the bonnet. Now I just have to figure out why it doesn't work!

Tootling along in traffic and when I came to change lanes I found no clicky noise when indicating. I've done a search and tested things which I read about and this is what I've found. Alarm DOES activate the indicators, all of them. Can't indicate left or right via stalk. When I press the hazard switch, the light inside the switch itself stays on permanently but theres no indicators working. Might be un-related but also noticed that my driver side full beam bulb has gone. Can't do much to the car where it is now as far as swapping anything around. Fuse appears to be ok. Cheers!

It def doesn't work. I've tried the engine idling thing and nothing happens, but from previous cars I know that could be just a regas thing. I'll try for more ( my poor camera ) pics in the location you suggest. Pic 1 is of the radiator, any sign of the condensor from that? I can't seem to tell from looking. I assume its like having another radiator infront of the main one?

So you can put 195's on a VR6? £20 a corner cheaper is a lot for a full set!
-
If you visit http://www.mytyres.co.uk and look for goodyear eagle f1's at the size of 195/50/15 they're going for about £31-£33 per tyre delivered! Very good tyre for a bargain price! £10 for fitting oon top and still v good. I know its not the exact size for the C but it'll still fit ok.
-
Would the presence of davia stuff there be signs of previous aircon?
-
Even more pics! Phew! :confused4:

Errrrm? You'll have to forgive my dumbness. Left of the engine block? Nr. The Airbox?

Pictures of various parts of the engine bay.

Now, my C has aircon buttons in the dash, and davia??? fuses under the bonnet. It doesnt work at present, which isn't suprising as the guy I bought it off didn't know what the norm and max buttons did! On my GTI-6 I had a condensor in front of the radiator, I can't see one on the C? Where is the aircon located under the bonnet? What exactly am I looking for on the Corrado. I just want to confirm the bits are still there as at some point in its life its hand a front end wang and I'm wondering if they didn't put everything back in!

Just bought the usual wiper upgrade form VW (£70), and yes they're far better etc. Only thing I wanted to mention (and I searched to see if anyone had noticed) was that the parts guy, who I'm almost getting to know personally now, said that it's cheaper to get the Mk4 Golf blades rather than the lupo ones. "They're different, but a little cheaper, and fit just as well." were his words. I can vouch that they are brilliant at clearing the screen and fit perfectly. So apparently you can use Mk4 Golf ones as well as the lupo ones! Feel free to lock/move/delete if this is being done before but I have looked. Thought I'd share it anyway!

Read the original post, already thought of that.

dont rely on the radar detector, by the time it (may) pick anything up its usually too late unless its a handheld gun (they have to get you twice and average the speed). It does bleep at every upcoming camera along your direction and has never missed one in 6000 miles around the country (M25, M6, M62, Scottish Highlands etc). It does warn you about usual temp camera locations though, although not all. More importantly, it warns you of specs. Go for the compact new one though, meant to do the same as mine but is £100 cheaper!

I'd like to keep it so I can remove the RA at anytime without having to dismantle or cut anything. Kinda of like removing a box that snugly fits into the cubby hole but looks stealthy from the outside. Must admit, I'm kinda of making it up as I go along. Am getting more interested in making fibreglass stuff. Might practice on te boot area first though! How much is resin? Rough cost of a basic shell for something?

Hmm, laptop built into glove box???? Hmm?? NO, NO!!!! STOP IT! I DONT HAVE THE MONEY!!!!
-
Theres a hole where the speaker is and at 80% volume, believe me, its piercing enough to hear! I'm going to put a USB lead in the back of it that will come out in the glove box. From there I can use my laptop to update it. I can pick up wireless easily on my drive so connection wont be a prob either!

It's not in yet, got the wiring to do first. Resin's tempting but the measurements would have to be exact, foam just expands into the gap and looks flush. Prob stick to spraying the front or using black cloth or something like that. Poss MDF sprayed.
