Do SNS do a chip for this :?:
-
Well nothing in life is simple (with a Rado)
-
That was the other thought... but me and wiring are a dangerous thing. Have you done this before then ? To be honest I was hoping I could just change the pinouts on my light switch to disable sidelights. The main lights go to side only when you take out the key so disabling the side lights should mean you just turn them off totally. I was worried about the MOT/TÜV implications of this though.
-
hmmm interesting. Might be worth a try unless anybody else has an easier option.
-
Ok.. due to the rules driving in Austria/Germany about having lights on even in the day, I want to change my setup so my sidelights come on with ignition. It's mostly as I keep forgetting and I'll run my battery down again  So.... I've no idea how to do this, and don't really want to pay an arm and a leg for somebody else to do it for me. Anybody done this, or got any pointers ?
-
You in Germany as well then :?: If so what area :?: I know the pain of having a car with the steering wheel on the wrong side. Toll booths are a real pain
-
Yeah 90mm is a different matter. It's te postage at such an awkward shape i was told. No postage if you collect from stealers you see... it offsets the price on the 50mm.. Sorry for hijacking....
-
Just so you know i phones GPC on this as I wanted a smaller splitter. They said that after delivery and VAt it's cheaper by a few pounds to collect from stealers. At least GPC are honest... I'll give em that ;)

Thanks for the comments... For me it's an ongoing project.... so more to come I guess. Hoping that the tuning this weekend will give me an extra boost in power at the wheels. Although I'm not sure what to expect. I'll try and RR it in Germany at somepoint just to get an idea. 16v: You like the wheels.... I'm still unsure on them. Well see how they like the 5mm spacers this weekend and if all else fails eBay.de have some nice alloys...

So couple of months later and a whole shedload of work.... here's what I've got so far. This Saturday it's in for a few things with Darren again... - New fuel lines - Knock sensor - SNS chip and 68mm pulley - Boost return kit - RSR breather - Removal of Carbon Canester - 5mm spacers all round - Arch widening (probably) - Brand new shiney front indicators When it gets to Germany in a few weeks I've got a nice set of Hella LHD lights waiting to have the reflectors blackened around the edges and put on...... then... well who knows. Probably finsh off the pain down the bad side (South East meet people will know what I mean on that  ) Also the pictures are before I put on the 4 bar grill last night.... looks meaner at the front now. Just need an eyebrow and I'm happy.
-
Well got this back in November... and it needed some work shall we say. 2 days after buying it I was down at g-werks with Darren for a full engine service, charger rebuild and some help with a few niggles. So here's what it looked like when I got it... no laughing at the back it was a frozen day so the paintwork looks bad... Still £850 for a G60
-
Well I've had mine at a regular 44mpg..... but recently it only seems to get to 39mpg no matter how much of a granny I am. Still 800mile drag to Munich in less than 2 weeks. So we'll see what that costs me ;) Glad work are paying £200 for fuel *evil laugh*
-
Good luck finding a road where you can redline in 3rd and 4th while looking at your MFA ;) I managed it.... but then discovered my MFA isn't working ;)
-
Well looks like I'll go with some spacers as a solution. So... for those that have done this before. Should I go 3mm or 5mm spacers ? and rear as well as fronts I guess.
-
Well I was thinking that.... but wanted to see if there was a more elegant solution to the problem. Checked the offset with the shop and it's ET35 :?:
-
What offset though ?
-
Ok, sounds like I was mis-sold then as I was assured it wouldn't be a problem... So what if anything can I do to correct it ? Short of changing the wheels :?: Spacers  and if so how much would you recommend?
-
Not sure on the offset offhand.... but they 17x7 I'll have to check the offset tommorrow. What should they be to prevent rubbing ?
-
Looks great..... even better in the flesh ;)
-
Well I knew that 17" wheels would be a squeeze with a 40mm drop, but I'm getting some rubbing on full lock and was wondering if there's anything I can do about it. I know that the German TÜV is tough on that sort of thing... So on full lock the rear of the wheel rubs on the arch liner..... Anything to be done ? Maybe spacers ? or is that just going to make my problem worse :?:
-
In the time he spent whining at you like a b*tch 2 people probably got mugged.... sometimes it's a case of priorities.
-
I had this after my Toad got installed... I think I set the alarm, then unlocked the boot, locked it again and left the boot lock turned all the way anti-clockwise. Then tried unlocking.... It does work just annoying to sort. Had the same problem on a Golf mk IV as well....
-
forgive me for asking... but do you have to see the indicator lenses, or just the light. If it was just the light surely you could locate a high powered LED or 3 under the wheelarch and warn users by having your wheel arch flashing orange ? A bit chav maybe ? but at least it's not blue neons ;)
-
Hmm.... go INTO the halfrauds  I'll send my Mum.... I don't think I can lower myself.
