Would that make it a GDI60 then  ?

I hade the same problems with replacement springs..... they always seem to go a little lower. Mine were meant to be 40 but caused lots of issues and soon came off to be replaced by something a little better. If you can find a part numer of the Weitec shocks that would be good... as they might not be what you think.

Rear wiper is crap - can it be converted to Lupo type?

Never buy for a Corrado on a belly full of brew..... you'll wake up having bought a job lot of 'Dinkus' Pink leather gear gators. Bet they'll sell well at the local marked ;) EDIT: ETKA says the rear blade is 550mm (shortened to 530 on new ones) so that's 21" blade for the rear. Seems a little long, but that's what ETKA says ;) -
Are you using 12v LED's ????

Few nasty surprises when stripping my C's interior
catch_twotwo replied to gsbellew's topic in General Car Chat
Not sure what Paypal would make out of it really... most of the time they're asses about everything. At least if the seller is being nice about things you can tell him if you make a loss. Although the fact that he might suddenly forget he said that later on is always a possibility.... -
I guess there are two ways to ask if they fit or not... The stud patern sounds like it will fit as the TT is the same Stud pattern. However the 18" size will be an issue. I ran 17x7.5j on my old Corrado and even then I had rubbing at lock on both fronts. 18" and 8J wide could mean some arch work is needed, or that your car will look like a tractor ;) What's the ET on those ????

It's usually setable into three positions (I think) IF you remove the wiper linkage and reset it then you can reseat the wiper blade and it should work fine.

Did you just say the words "good" and "eBay" in the same sentence... surely that's wrong.

Ouchy...... I know it sounds nasty but lucky you bought it. As it's for parts at least you won't be bombing it round the backroads thinking it's safe(ish) If you Paypal'd him the cash you should at least put in a claim for unworthy goods..... -
Just a quick note about your possible posting to Germany.... If you have to register the car in Germany then it has to go through a TÜV.... from what I've been told since coming here changing the engine for a new one (i.e. R32) or charging an existing engine will mean a complete re-check and can cost a fair bit (not sure on exact numbers though) Just getting non TÜV wheels checked on your car can cost €200 so imagine an engine.... Sorry to throw a spanner in the works

Actually the whistle is caused if you remove the boost return tubes. This is usually because the connection for the boost return is left open causing a whistle on gear change. If it's still routed to the charger you won't get the whistle. Mine doesn't whistle (neither did my last one) at least not that I noticed. Are you running a standard airbox and tubes.. or are you using no-OEM parts ?
-
Could have been a boost leak previously.... Do you have the boost return deleted ?

Fitting early corrado springs on late corrado
catch_twotwo replied to morgsVR6's topic in Drivetrain
Are the springs for the early rated for the same weight as the lates ? Don't want the front sagging like an old woman do you ???? -
Question is... what damage did the lengthy period without an oil feed do to the charger..... just because it still works doesn't mean it'll be happy without a rebuild.
-
Strange.... Doubt it's had US parts on it as it's been owned by one owner since new and maintained at a VW center all it's life. Still, very odd. My last German Corrado had side repeaters, so guess this one was one of the last in Germany without them.
-
Probably worth mentioning that topmounts and the like should be replaced at the same time... else you might not be getting the full effect of the new kit. This can add up if you want the good stuff (i.e. the better VR6 topmounts, and all the extras to get them fitting) It's a Rado.... nothing is ever simple, and when you have one part replaced it's almost always good to check what else should be done at the same time.

Here's the link.... LINKY I found them very good quality and they clean the screen great ;) Almost makes you want it to rain.....

You can get a set off ebay.de for about €75 all in. I have these on mine (LHD) and they're great. They're all OEM parts (although not sourced through VAG) If you want I can dig out the ebay username for you.. just let me know ?
-
Yeah should have thought about that before I put in my order to G-werks yesterday.... postage to Germany is a pain ;) So is this a special design or just the boost return cut down ???
-
Did just putting the filter on the underside of the TB quiten things down as well ?
-
Surely if it's such a rare occurance to vent... there is no point in re-routing at all.

After a quick double take at the weekend I've finally noticed that my new German G60 doesn't have side repeaters. Now.... this is strange as my old Rado was originally a German G60 (LHD) from the same year (about 3 months between them). So for anybody out there with a Corrado that rolled out of the factory before 02/1990... do you have side repeaters ?
