Have you tried having the car on and checking the sensor wiring. Could be that the loose connection can be disagnosed by process of elimination.
-
I did a spark plug and leads change just to make sure and no changes in anything. How would I go about checking the rotor arm ? EDIT: Just a thought, but i know my knock sensor is shot, and i didn't have time to put a new one on this weekend. Could that be retarding the timing and causing the problems ? If so, what are the downsides of loosening the sensor slightly to help smooth things out till I can replace this one ?

I'm having a little isse that I can't seem to tie down right now. When I turn off the car it has a slight overrun on the engine. It only lasts about 2 seconds, but is enough to make me a little worried. It could be linked to a couple of other small issues I have, like reving by itself, and a slight hesitation around 1500-2000 rpm. If you take your foot off in 4th or 5th doing 2000 and then put it back on it sort of blips a bit. Hard to explain. I think the reving is most likely the ISV. However the overrun and slight hesitation could be a number of things. Would the timing cause this ? or maybe a slight problem with the fuel pump ?# I did a search and read a few threads, but can't seem to find somebody with these symptoms.

I just got back from an 800km run and was seeing an average of 6.8 l/100km.... which works out to about 34mpg. Better than my old G60 which was doing about 15mpg I think *rofl*

So good it needed saying twice ;) I'm not sure on the idea of 100% NOS though.... might want to figure out a safer level before you blow yourself up as you spin off the lights.

Whats the most embarrasing moment you've had in your corrado
catch_twotwo replied to surfer.vr6's topic in General Car Chat
In that situation you should always pretend to fiddle with something in the glovebox for a moment..... I know, as I did it the first 20 times i got into my LHD in the UK. -
Henny.. how are you sorting the power issues for the laptop ??? Getting it to boot when the car comes on and things like that ? I have a spare laptop sitting about and was thinking about doing the same thing exactly. I even have a spare dash incase of real problems ;)

Whats the most embarrasing moment you've had in your corrado

How ironic when the most embarassing situation I ever had was getting stuck in a petrol station blocking 4 pumps... in some automatic tank. I'd agreed to buy a new Merc A-class and gone to pick it up (Yeah I know, I've moved on now but needed therapy). Typical mercedes style it wasn't there to collect. So after moaning about selling my old car already, they gave me the only courtesy car they had left.... Some huge E class automatic (IIRC). I'd never driven one and one the size of a cruise liner as well. So I pull into the local petrol station keeping it wide to avoid scratching the thing and fill her up. I get back in to start her up, and nothing. Tried everything I could think of for 30 minutes while people waited and got pissed off. In the end descided to walk back to the Merc place and complain (5 minute walk). So I put it in park and then it hit me.... bloody thing was in drive. Started up like a dream after that. Never filled up in that gas station ever again  -
Looks good..... very nice colour ;) Gotta be careful on the Autobahns, You can go fast, but the G60 brakes don't stop you fast enough in the event of idiots. Trust me, I know first hand..... If you're cruising past München give me a shout....

Hm.... that looks alot like the side of the car..... what would you be doing cutting a hole there *lol*

Trimsport rear strut brace....get them quick

I'm loving the trimsport one, but it's a little pricey..... -
Has anyone cut down their 90mm spoiler? - done it
catch_twotwo replied to diggerbucket's topic in Exterior
So you've dropped it another 20mm.... now you're the same as before  Should have gone for a 50mm ;) -
It was just a light hearted suggestion, chill out! I'm chilled... it was just a light hearted reply  Just replacing the air, oil and petrol filters might be a good and simply place to start. After a while (these are old cars) these things start causing bottlenecks. ... or of course you can go for the forum stickers.... 20bhp increase each. I was thinking of putting them all over the car and then trying for the land speed record.

The old Soundstrem range is pretty good (although not so much the new stuff) I've got a Soundstream Rubicon Lil'wonder 5 running front/rear comps and a10" sub. Those amps have alot of power in them. Even the specs are amusing..... they don't even give vlaues.

You're lucky to be honest that they didn't say it HAD to have an alarm. I know when I first insured my G60 in the UK they said it had to have an alarm else they wouldn't insure it (I'm 29 with 10 years no claims). Still might be better to shop around enxt time you renew, some are better than others ;)

I wanted to buy one from GPC and although it was cheaper it works out better to go dealer as you can collect. P&P on something that shape is a killer. vwdeviant: Just a thought but how slow are you driving to be able to stop when the chin spoiler hits and you think "OH my sump" ??? I want brakes like yours.... -
Might sounds silly here (usually do) but what's the benefit in wrapping them ?

I have to agree with iow.... I had to change my 90 for a more subtle 50 just to be able to drive without fearing the crunch all the time. -
They're not aftermarket as such. Lucas still manufacture them from what I can see. The ones I've seen come up on the bay are from the older Audi 200 and really look like it as well ;) Plus they sell for about €200 a set (Caliper and Carrier) I can get new (refurnished) calipers for that, but just need to find the carriers.

The "what I did to my Corrado today" thread...
catch_twotwo replied to Jim's topic in General Car Chat
Got it re-registered to my name and got the nice new plates printed up.... M:YG 60 1 Nearest I could get to something good, and all for only €20  -
I've emailed to ask about the braided hose kit for this. It wouldn't be very nice of me to contact him about the carriers alone as he sells a kit (which is more than most) I'm just on a budget right now as I've had to outlay alot in the last few months. These kits are from BahnBrenner if I guess correctly, so Darren wouldn't have the carriers on there own anyway.
-
The caliper isn't a problem... as I can get those. It's the carrier that I need to find right now.
-
That's kinda like saying junk the G60 and get a VR6..... Sometimes you gotta go with what you've got

Will let you know for sure ;) Classic advice on brake fitting... ----- Cause: Some calipers have the inlet feed in the middle of the body, pointing to the centre of the vehicle. This can lead to the calipers being fitted on the wrong sides. If this happens, the bleed nipples are at the bottom instead of the top. Solution: Swap the calipers to the correct hands with bleed nipples at the top. Or you may prefer to turn the vehicle upside down when bleeding the calipers. -----

Ok, I think I've found a supplier that can do me a set of these calipers (rebuilt with original parts) with a 2 year warranty on them. All I need to know now is what pads to get to match with these as somebody mentioned there are 2 sizes for these. Also can anybody confirm if a replacement hos set is required ? I'm temped to go for a braided set anyway while there but need to know the type to go for really. Once I've got mine and I can confirm they're right I'll post the link incase anybody else is interested..
