2.9 VR6 compared to the newer 3.2 VR6 - how do they compare in power?
Mawrick replied to Mawrick's topic in Off-topic Chat
Yea think that's the case of them - in the passat I kinda really don't know when I'm going fast before I'm there where the Corrado will tell me when to start "calming down" (due to "hell braking loose") - at least if I want to keep my license.....lol....;) Kinda would have thought they where more alike when I got the passat - not that I'm disappointed with the 3.2 though....lol...;) ---------- Post added at 10:22 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:21 PM ---------- Yea think that's the case of them - in the passat I kinda really don't know when I'm going fast before I'm there where the Corrado will tell me when to start "calming down" (due to "hell braking loose") - at least if I want to keep my license.....lol....;) Kinda would have thought they where more alike when I got the passat - not that I'm disappointed with the 3.2 though....lol...;) -
I have my C with a 2.9 (dooohh - well as long as it isn't us spec ;) ), and I have a Passat V6 with the 3.2 VR6 engine - the latter beiing more powerful and they kinda feels the same - they have pretty much the same cool sound :) But is the older VR kinda more "agressive" ? - and maybe "kicks" more at the top end then the newer one?. Kinda feels the newer one have a more "steady" "curve" from low rpm to high...... offcorse 2 very different cars ;)

Did you got it sorted? - sorry SamG40, didn't see this post before now - but haven't had time to get it sorted yet myself so if any of you guys have sorted it please give tips - hopefully will have a new garage up before the winter so I can sort the car out over next winter (it have been stored away at some other place during winter the last years so couldn't work on it then - and the summer is "driving time" :) ). -
One with a "sideview" I found on vortex: more pics of it in this thread: http://forums.vwvortex.com/showthread.php?4313303-Red-Corrado-s-post-them-up/page21

Yea - Got a mechanic that I use from time to time to have a look at it - to him it seem like the windscreen have been put in a bit to "low" - causing the gasket around the top not to stretch back to it's original position - I guess I'l leave it as it is for some time, maybe I get lucky and get another stone chipped in it - will take it to the dealer then and hopefully they will be better at it....;)
-
Is there any way I could take it off again myself and re-fitt it ?. and is there any guides on how to do this anywhere?. Actually thinking about taking it into the vw dealer and hear if they could maybe do a proper job on it in theyr carosserie workshop.....

Just had my windshield replaced on the Corrado, and not to sure about the work that have been done - the Trim around the windshield isn't 100% "on level" at the end - one side it goes longer down then the other, and had to go inn again cause it was kinda "slipping" at top, where they used glue to get it down to the windshield. Are you at all supposed to use glue on the trim around this windshield?. And what make the C so "spescial" when it comes to the windshield - is it that much more "complicated" to fit then any other car?. Sadly I think the manager of this shop is on vacation - as I'v heard positive thing about him being very experienced - and when he first looked at this car himself it sounded like he knew about these kinds of "trims" - but when I had the C ready and went back in he is obviously on vacation.......so the other guys took it in. :( Not realy sure what I think about this job.....
-
Ahh, ok - so it's not a "pin" one would have to remove - it's kinda fixed to the car then I guess and the trim "locks" into it?.
-
Alright will do - but what's this "pin" you refered to in your other thread - where is it located, and is it something one have to remove before removing the trip ?
-
Alright, thanks for the answers guys! :) End caps: Are those the ones sitting at the rear of the car? (end of the trim)? - I got one new for the right side, but left side was obsolete....:( - can it still be removed without removing those ?. thnx again.
-
Yea, those are the ones....:)
-
ahhh. that might be - I presume it's this "sucker": http://www.ecstuning.com/Volkswagen-Corrado--VR6_12v/Engine/Intake/ES4517/ btw, any idea if this is the same on a coilpack and a non coilpack VR6 - as I have a Passat VR6 sitting at the moment not beiing used - I presume these are the same..... thnx for for the tip! :)
-
Haven't had any time to look at this my self but what might cause the VR6 to stop when one clutches "out" to do a brake down from a "high" speed (80-90 km/h) and reducing down to 0. Was on a down hill so just "fired" it again on the gear, but haven't seen this behaviour before.....so any tips would be appreciated. Cheers!

I can (not so proudly) confirm that it's absolutely possible to put this bar in upside down....lol....... Much less "shivering" around the car now :) (even though it still does run "harder" than the VR6 in my old Passat (the C is coilpack and the passat is a dizzy) - have always been impressed with how smoooooooth the Passat engine runs.....:( Also my 06 Passat VR6 runs smooooooth compared to the C engine........
