As promised some (bad) pics:
-
I used the OEM gearbox stuff from VW when changing oil - how does that compare to the oil you guys are talking about ?...:)
-
yesterday but replaced fuel filter - bolts holding it where to rusted to be saved so had to drill em out and put new bolts in :( Also put on Borbet T 16/7.5" front and 16/9" rear :)
-
Will fix it - the car needs a wash first - and have to adjust the height a bit I think ;)
-
I'v now fitted them on my C. No trouble with them - my C sits on KW V1 which is quite "slim" so that might be the reason why it's working alright. Also haven't done all the height adjustments at the moment, so it sits a bit to high - but doesn't look like I will have any trouble with it as long as I'm not lowering it to much.......
-
ok, but do you reckon it will work with 20mm spacers - if I'm not dropping that much ? Or will it be trouble getting it to clear anyway?. Btw noticed yours is a 4 stud - AFAIK there is difference between the G60's and the VR6's in clearance.....
-
Got some tires fitted to the rims - one shop had to give up on getting air in the 215's on the 9" - but luckily someone only dealing with tires where able to help me out, so hopefully get to test fit them during the coming week :) Must say I like the look of the 215's on the 9" :)

Looking good! :)

Replacement bolts for the radiator support brackets wanted
Mawrick replied to Jon_vr6's topic in Suppliers Forum
are these the ones your after?: http://www.arz-tuning.de/shop/product_i ... -Gold.html Can't remember if the rad support is the same ad these - so a long shot :) -
it's "Protective foil" Apparently have part number: AKL 448 300 04 I presume it's something they will have to "cut to fit" so I would think it available from VW :)

Not sure about this personally, but always tend to have fuel tanks full when I store things like f.ex motorbike and cars - most experience with motorbikes when it comes to storing, and really can't say much is evaporating from the tank during store time - might be different in a car though - even though my C stood still for roughly 1 - 1.5 years and can't say I noticed much fuel disappearing during this time :) Anyway, don't think it really matters that much on the C - as the gas tank i plastic, on a steel tank (as on a bike) I think it will protect against rust etc having it "full"....
-
Personally I'd have the tank topped up - maybe just imagination but I kinda "fear" it's easier to get "water" in the fuel if it's not topped up. You could of course jack it up on stands - I would think the tires would be fine though - or you could put it on some old tires/rims your not using?. Make sure the battery is taken off, and don't have the parking brake engaged - maybe even take of the brake pads so it don't get "stuck"....

Can the VR6 impuls sender cause car to be hard to start?
Mawrick replied to Mawrick's topic in Engine Bay
Alright thnx for that info - got another answer from a guy on the vortex where he had this problem with 2 cars - and both time it was fixed when replacing the FPR........I think I might have a spare one around so might just throw that on and see what happens :) -
Can the VR6 impuls sender cause car to be hard to start?
Mawrick replied to Mawrick's topic in Engine Bay
Can it be other sources for these problems that I maybe should check out first?. Heard someone mention the Fuel pressure regulator -
You adjust it with the nuts that goes on the end of the wire inside the car - under the plastic surrounding the handbrake handle. Also just as well go for the bentley Corrado manual :)

Can the VR6 impuls sender cause car to be hard to start?
Mawrick replied to Mawrick's topic in Engine Bay
hmm, ok - sounds like it might be that, as it seem to start every time - but I have to hold the key in starting position for quite some time before it fires - also sometimes seem to smell a bit gas just after it fires up. After the startup it seem to be running ok - even though I have a feeling that the VR6 in my Passat is a bit faster on the rpm when one "revs" - but that might only been imagination...lol (the car seem to be running alright)...:) -
My C have always been a bit hard to start (although I think before it was due to a bad ignition switch), but even now after the rebuild it seem to be hard to start. I mean - it seem to always start, but one have to hold the ignition-switch on for quite some time before it fires. Also noticed a very small "shivering" in the engine when it runs - doesn't seem exactly as smooth as my older Passat VR6 (have been wondering if the "resonans" maybe get thru the car easier when there is new engine mounts etc). I'v been starting to think that maybe the impuls sender that sits up in the area around the coilpack can cause these problems?. Any tips appreciated - the car does not throw any errors when scanned with VAG-COM The thing I'm talking about is this one: not the G28 sender

Ok, I give in. Where can I buy such things?! They don't even list it on the Momo website. I'd need one of those boss things too. Cheers. I guess mine won't cut it then?....lol....: Not that I'd have many choices to choose from....lol...:)
-
ok - now that you mention it - I *think* it might have started acting like this after I had the dials out - maybe something happened when installing it again ( a while ago so not sure though)...;)
-
On my VR6 the blower only seem to be operating from 2 and upwards - 1 is "dead"........any idea what might cause it?
-
Anyone got a pic of the original warning triangle that came with the Corrado VR6?. Mine was missing when I bought it and replaced with a passat one. Also is it supposed to be some fastening arangement for it somewhere, or just supposed to sit down in the spare wheel bay?.
-
yea, normally 98RON for me as my closest petrol station luckily have it - but sometimes one doesn't have the option...lol....:)
-
I'v always thought that RON98 will be the better choice for these engines - even if it states 95 in the "petrol filling hatch". (reason being that it's a "better quality" fuel, and IIRC the service book from my old Passat 1.8 engine stated that the car would run on both 95 and 98 (obviously) - but would perform best with 98.) Just wondering what you lot are running on your VR6's. Sometimes I obviously will have 95 on the tank as some petrol stations don't have 98....
-
Alright I'l look into that - thanks for the tip :)

it's like one of these:
