NA fittings on OEM fuel filter ? (VR6) - what options are there?
Mawrick replied to Mawrick's topic in Engine Bay
Yea, the filters are afaik, I have a new one on, but was wondering about the hose stuff....;) -
There seem to be a very small leak around my fuel filter, the filter is new but suspect the leak is on that "crimped" rusty part, was wondering if there is any options on fitting AN fittings to this filter, or use some other filter and then make some braided lines to attach to the plastic tube (if possible) - not sure if the line is available from VW still ?...... What is the best options to sort this problem ?

Are you sure it isn't fuel pump related, ref my thread here: http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?82988-VR6-hot-start-problem-seem-to-have-been-resolved-just-thought-I-d-post-experience Mind you I only had hot start problems.....;)

Have a Stenhoj DS2 M&E 2 pots car lift, but there is a small problem where it for me seem to be the safety nut (which rotates "freely" within a certain space) will hot the rod that goes from the switch that will stop it when the lift is in bottom position, I think it might be due to wrong position of the nut - but not sure, does anyone have any idea how it should sit, and/or how one could loosen the bottom nut and re-adjust how it sits ?. the 2 pics show the nut in 2 differen position, where it either goes up or down, bottom picture also show the rod going thru in the back.

How to set a "clock spring" to center position?
Mawrick replied to Mawrick's topic in Off-topic Chat
Figured it out, you will get some more resistance when turning when it comes to it's outher edges - about 5 turns seem to be what it has, so roughly 2.5 turn is center..... -
I'v got a clock spring to replace a faulty one, but not sure if the one I'm installing is at center position, how could I figure out where it should be?. for each turn it seem one have to release some king of "lock", but not sure how many turns each way I can do, and if I will feel some resistance before I brake something ?

Got it out - I had a thought about the mechanism, and had tried variouse things, but apparently have gotten to far into center of wheel - but I think the "key" here was to get the screwdriver directly in along the outher "wall" of the hole it goes into and then one ends up at the place where the spring is, where one can pry a bit on it.... Thanks for the reply :)

I'm having a struggle getting this sh*** airbag out from the steering wheel, thought it was locked with a spring that should be possible to bend with a scredriver, but not realy sure, as I'v tried for quite some time, I'm starting to wonder if there is some other mechanism here....... any tips on this would be appreciated...

Here is the way I fitted mine - I'v used this "fix" for some time now, and knock on wood haven't had one misfire since this (I only had trouble with hot engine) - I also don'tt think there is anything wrong with my injectors-sealing (Though I haven't tested it) - and the fuel filter have been replaced with a OEM VW part. As you see from the picture I opted for keeping the OEM hose (not cutting it), and just added a hose directly to the pump, and then join the OEM hose with the new fuel hose using the non-return valve....:)

VR6 ABV crank position sensor question - now fuel pressure issue
Mawrick replied to fendervg's topic in Engine Bay
Haven't read the whole thread - but personally had hot start problems with mine, without ever getting it sorted (changed cam position sensor etc) - until I did the things described in this thread: http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?82988-VR6-hot-start-problem-seem-to-have-been-resolved-just-thought-I-d-post-experience I'v never had a hot-start problem again,I suspect it can cause other problems then the hot-start problems, and as you will see in the thread VW did a "fix" for bad pumps........but fix is discontinued.....:) -
A bit worried about mine nowasays as I can hear it while the car is idling...........can't remember I could hear the pump in the B3 VR6......is it on it's way out ??

Do you have the Power Steering pump still ? - eventually could you check shipment to Norway ?
-
Purple Tom's 288mm and 312mm caliper/carrier emporium - SOLD
Mawrick replied to Purple Tom's topic in Parts for Sale
How much shipped to Norway ? -
Not sure about sequence, but if it's the VR6 air inlet your after the bolts should be tightened to 25Nm (18 ft lb)

Luckily got time to look into this problem today, so will head back to the MOT guys tomorrow and get it passed :) Turned out somehow the cable-connector for the switch on the brake pedal wasn't connected (I presume I have to blame myself as I guess I have disconnected it for some reason when tidying up old stereo wiring horrors from earlier owner)....lol. I thought the two things where related - but luckily the reverse light was only a bulb problem...... MOT....Check with flying colors ;)
-
I recon it's just to short the cable then ? - I didn't get time today to check, but it might be something fitted wrong when I put back the transmission last time, IIRC there is a possibility that the thing that pushes the switch off/on can be placed wrong ?. Can anyone confirm the aux-water pump should always be running or not? (I thought it would only run when car was hot, but I might remember wrong)......I'v also thought there might be some grounding issues ? - but everything else seem to work so not to sure about this..... btw - should the brake-light go on without ignition on ? - I presume the reverse have to have ignition on ?.
