very long story mate when i insured the car last year with norich union direct i had to take the car to autoglass for it to be inspected for any damage so they would cover it ( some crap about the age of the car ) so i did this got a little ticket from autoglass saying the glass was in good condition and then its supposed to go on the insurance data base to confirm its good , so all was well untill last wednesday when a lorry flicked up a stone an cracked the screen , i got home phoned my insurance company to make sure it was ok to get it fixed only for them to say its never been registered on there data base , tossers springs to mind , anyway ive turned my house upside down to find the bloody ticket and to no avail i carnt so theres the story as to why i carnt go through the poxy insurance company . Has anyone else had this crappy screen check on there cars or is it just this companys policy ???

Ive just been quoted for a replacement windscreen for my corrado , now some of you may have read my previous post on insurance companys being a real pain in the arse over a cracked windscreen ,very long quite boring story anyway "NATION WIDE AUTOGLAZING " want £674.40 +vat , yep im just getting up off the floor again , and NATIONAL WINDSCREENS want £220.00 +£50.00 for trims +vat , now thats more like it now all ive got to is wait for them to get one in stock , yippy. Why can 1 company charge such a huge difference i meen surely its the same spec glass and the same fitting time , christ im confused ive been in the motor trade for 21 years and never had such a difference in price for a windscreen , is there anyone who works for a windscreen company on the forum who may be able to shed some light on the difference , anyway im not moaning im just pleased that soon the view out my car windscreen will soon be crack free LOL :D :D :D

hummmmm ive got 17" and never really had a problem on them appart from the cost when ive worn them out LOL HAM IS COOL :D

they wont cover it due to the age of the car the policy states that before any claim for windscreen damage can be made the car glass had to be inspected at autoglass were they will approve the glass for cover upon they will inform the insurance company . Now norich union direct are now saying that this has never been carried out which is crap as ive got bit of paper that was issued by autoglass at the time of inspection saying all the glass was in good order , now the problem i have now is im not sure were the hell ive put the bloody thing , what the hell the age of the car has got to do with it i dont know , unfortunatly its only 3rd party fire and theft insurance as the cars a 3rd car that i own and dosnt always get used which is a real kick in the nuts as all week ive been using my mondeo , sorry guys yep i own one of those sorry im hanging my head in shame at the mo

hi guys comming home from work today my car got showerd by a passing lorry with lots of small stone resulting in 3 chips and a crack around 2 inches long on the passenger side , my insurance company have said that they wont cover it due to the age of the car , so much for norich union direct wont be using them when i need to renew , any way has anyone got any idea how much a replacement screen is going to cost , im going to check all my local breakers in the morning and see if any of the national screen companys can help me out , im just a little concerend as to how much its going to cost fitting its not a problem its simply sorcing a good unit or a new one , any advise would be appreciated :cry: :cry: :( :) :D

just a quick one guys my rado doesnt like to idle some times it can be hot or cold but when its playing up its a bitch , now recently ive had the throttle body off and given it a good clean and the same with the mass air flow meter , all seems ok what i want to know is when the engine is running its idling around 850 rpm if i pull the plug of the isv the idle increases to 1000 rpm , now when i plug it back in the idle stays at 1000rpm surely it should drop back to around 850 rpm , it only does this if i turn the engine off and then restart it , is this right ? and does anyone know the correct way to set up the base idle for a 1992 2ltr 16v , ive done a search and there seems to be a few different ways and now im really confused :scratch: :? :? :D

try jacking the car up one side at a time , it still sounds like a very dry suspension top mount or the lower ball joint , you may need to really work some penatrating oil right in to the mount failing that you may need to take the top mount out and grease it up

it sounds like the friction plate has blown itself to bits hence when you try to put it in gear all you get is grinding and no gears ,theres nothing to take up the drive when you depress the clutch , i reckon your going to want a complete clutch kit , pressure plate , friction plate and relese bearing as its faulse economy to not replace all 3 items when your doing this job :)

Thanks for the good lucks...[/quote yep we were in our rado , holding back from the police as it seems to draw there attetion alot , carnt be arsed to do even more explaining to them about the scorpion exhaust and the flames and popping back on over run , as said before the offer of help still stands and the very best of luck , maybe we could organise a local meet for team rado and other owners before you guys set out :D :D

saw you tonight we were on our way to ringwood from verwood , just as you get in to the forest we were 2 cars behind a big old BMW traffic car , we did wave but i dont think you saw us , the car looks cool really good , if you guys need anymore help ive been a mechanic for 20 years and more than happy to give a hand if you need one :D :D :) :D

the split drive shaft boot would only cause a creak if the joint was completely dry of cv grease but if it was that bad it would be knocking its tits off to be honest , ive heard the odd gaiter creak when they 1st split but not very often , its more likely to be strut top mounts , bottom stut / spring mount , bottom ball joint or even worn track rod end , try lubricating all the above with a quality maintenance spray , be cautious around the brake discs and calipers :) hope this is some help

sounds like you have the same problem as i but mine dont like to start after it stalls , bloody thing , starting to get a little tits off with the car , my wife was driving it yesterday and no problems at all , even got asked by some one if she wanted to sell it , i would have proberly said yes to him at the mo as every time i drive it it breaks down on me :x :x :mad: :mad: :mad: :( :cry:

hi guys just a quick update the car is there for breaking , its got full black leather interior , all the glass is there in fact its complete except the big alloys have gone , please be aware that they are putting this car also on e bay under the user name charles trents , so be quick guys as the parts are quite well priced and you all know there not going to hang around , if anyone else has been there they may also have spotted the 2ltr16v in dragon green unfortunatly the complete car has been sold to an employee of trents , real shame as i would have stripped it clean for myself :D :D

hi guys not sure were this post should be but just spotted a dark grey vr6 waiting to be processed at my local breakers , its complete and looks not half bad , shame to see it there , its at Trents breakers in poole dorset , just thought it could be of some use to some of you guys :)
