I have a complete shock and spring set i took off my G60 at 27 k, but i have no idea what they are worth or posting costs !
-
I see a lot of that lose of colour when i detail peoples cars after they have tried to clean it with too strong solutions or chemicals, funny thing is most people think its still dirt on the leather. What a difference you have made after the re-coloured it, great job mate. Where did you get the colour kit from?
-
Cheers guys, i dont imagine i will get it in the same state as my G60....but i will have a good try. Here is hoping there isnt too many mechanicals seized up with it sitting for so long. Cant actually wait to get it home and get started on it.

MY 91 G60 is sitting at 50k just now!

Well i can officially say i have bought another Dub to join the collection i have Bought myself another Corrado, but a VR6 to go with the 50K G60 i already have and my MK1 GTI. Its a bit of a project car so looks like i will have heaps of work and time to put into it. Basically its a 95"N" plate wich has been sitting at a local garage for the past 3 years with a knackered head gasket. I was kind of keen on getting myself a detailing project for a while, and when i was chatting to the garage owner he asked if i knew of anybody that would be keen on a project, wether it was to fix or even break for spares, i had a look over it while it was stashed away at the back of the garage yard. Ok it may look a bit of a shed to start with, with moss all over the car, some water ingress to the cabin as one of the mats is soaking wet. With the interior of the cabin being damp the leather seats and various other internal furnishings have a small mould skin on them. The body work is straight as a die but as the car is red(yes another red car to the collection  ) and sitting outside for soooo long the paint work has faded, i just hope the oxidisation is not too bad and i can compound it back enough to get it back to its true colour. Couple of minor scrapes on the bumpers, wheels look true and no Kerbing on them but really need a refurbish. But the car has a Full VW history, Air con, s/s exhaust (looks like a milltek) K&N panel filter, upgraded shocks and springs,Looks solid underneath. Obvoiusly i imagine the brakes will be seized up, prob need new discs(not pitted or scoured but rust scale on them) but i will try and get them cleaned up and see if i can save them  Just waiting to get the car home so i can start working on it and turn it back to how it should look Pics will be posted up once i get it home. Time to get my detailing products stocked up!

Corrado(G60) is due its MOT, checked the car out yesterday and found 1 disc was well pitted and pad is worn right down to the metal on one side, so basically i am going to fit new upgraded discs and pads. Been phoning about for prices and demon tweeks will do a deal on Black diamond discs with either Ferodo pads or EBC green stuff pads. Which discs to go for.....Grooved.....or Grooved and drilled? Ferodo pads are meant to be brilliant but i imagine more dust, EBC are cheaper and less dust. Havent tried any of the above before so just getting your advice guys. I am replacing Pagid grooved discs and matching pads.....just for info. Advice appreciated guys

I think the amp has gone in my original Bee sting areial. Checked out Vw for a new one and it comes complete at a shocking price of £80. Is there anywhere else i can get a cheaper one that is amplified. Not looking at getting an alloy or shortened one either. Cheers guys.

My G60 has been giving me some occasional noise from the timing belt area. It used to give a squeek every now and again but the past couple of days its been doing it a lot. It normally just happens on idle and dissapears once you rev the car up. Any ideas guys. I am due to replace the timing belt and i expect it might be the adjuster that needs replaced but just wondering if it could be anything else before i pull the cover off and get started 8)

Thought i would stick some pics up, sorry but the first few shows off the MK1 as well.
-
Should have given me a flash mate :salute: I would fancy getting myself something newer and to do this i would either have to sell the Raddo or the MK1, so just getting a feel for the present market.

I have been wondering what the present selling value of my 47K G60 would be? Without posting pics of it just now what do you guys think i would get or ask for it in the present market if i was to sell it? Red...........absolute mint condition, feel free to ask VR6storm(roddy). 16" BBS rx wheels. Miltek exhaust. Charger just rebuilt by G-werks. Koni coilovers. Comments appreciated guys 8)

Hey guys been a while since i posted on here. My 91G60.....(yes i still have it and its up to 47k on the clock now  ).........the engine colling fan has play in it and also makes noise. I presume its bearings, so whats the craic guys.......new fan motor?......Fan its self? Where to get a replacement and should i replace it with anything else. Much appreciation for your replys guys :salute: Skid.

Well boys as my G60 has now hit 45k  its about time i got my G-ladder serviced for the first time 8) Originally i was just going to keep the car in standard form but now i am thinking in getting the charger stage tuned but i now want to know which stages of tune mean what. I have tried to get hold of Darren @ G-werks but due to them being short staffed and very busy we have missed each others calls. Some could some of you G60 guys maybe advise me which route to go for and if anybody knows of these prices feel free to let me know.
-
Jeesus thats not good Billcor :( I will better get mine checked/changed soon. I have always asked when i get it serviced at start about getting the charger done but Jim has always ensured me that with regular servicing and decent oil and treating the car the way i do it could prob run for years without being concerned. Mine has just hit 44k but the belt is def on the list for getting done now.

Some excellent work you have done there Jedi :thumbleft: TFR(traffic film remover) what do you use as that? Just bought myself a Porter cable 7424 D/A just to save myself from some arm and shoulder ache.......and of course to get a better finish. I will have to look and se if there is any learning courses i can get myself onto up here in Scotland as the more you read in the polishing forums the more i get scared of using it. Gettig the right rotation speed/mop and polish combination seams to be the first thing i need to learn. Travel speed with the Unit is another thing...lol. I have bought myself some of the Blackfire range for polishing with and i am using the Jeffs Carnauba Jett for my final wax. You will have to take a pic of the inside of you van as i have often wondered about what sort of cleaning set up you guys have to lump about with all the time. It must be like driving a Fire engine with all that water containers onboard...lol.
