How easy are these to fit and how do you know which one you need I/E regarding relays etc?

Got mine, Thanks Jay. Got stuck right in to fit them and i started on the front one........................which i spent ages trying to figure out how it assembled, until i relised that it was not an original mount i was try to fit it into. It was already upgraded to a Vibratech mount by the previous owner.......DoH! Hoping the rear one wasnt changed out i continued on it, lucky for me it was standard fitment but it did look very fresh and prob been changed recently, But at least i could replace it with Jay`s upgrade. I now have a spare front one, which i wonder if i should sell on or replace the used vibratech one fitted???? Thanks Jay for them anyway.

Could someone explain the fan stages? How would I know the differance between stage 1... 2... 3?

I thought one of the sensors told the ecu to raise the revs slightly to compensate for the fan going on and drawing more power from the electrics. My thinking is that one of them is not telling the ECU to do this so once the fan kicks in its drawing heaps of power...................maybe somebody could explain better plz.

No advice on this guys?

The revs drop dramatically, sometimes to the point of stalling when the fan kicks in on my 95 VR Couple of mates and a tech suggested that it could be the Yellow temp sender could be faulty. Could they be right or any other reasons could be causing this? I have purchased a new sensor today which is Black to replace the original yellow one at the price of £32.66 inc the "O" ring. Looks like a right chewy job to get in about and change esp since i have AC hoses.

Managed to get the Air con re gassed at a local Kwik fit and they say it works fine. But unfortunately their printer was not working to give me report on its findings. As i have never had or even used this system before could some one tell me how this system should work/ be controlled. I take it it will only work when the fan is on What should happen when i press the Norm button what should happen when i press the max button What temp differences should pressing these buttons make. Many thanks for your help guys.

Just fitted koni coilovers to my project Vr just wondering if I should get it t up by 4 wheel alignment or just get camber and wheel alignment done? Is there much difference esp since the rear is not adjustable?

Just fitted coilovers to my project VR, do I need to get it set up through 4 wheel alignment or just get tracking and camber set? Reason I ask this as very little companies offer 4 wheel alignment in my area, the cost of it and is it worth it as the rear is not adjustable anyway... Even though I believe shim options are available. Thoughts plz guys?

Well I did this today in just over an hour and that was me faffing about. Just jacked the car up, axle stands, removed, cleaned up and replaced seals and re assemble all from underneath. Car has air con too and that caused no hassle either. :)

So i wonder if its been replaced in the past? Its an ABV code. If it is a case of removing the front end is there any other jobs i should do while its off?

Nobody help out with this?

Well i got pics and also i got seals from VW today at the cost of £4.73 for 2 seals. Here is a pic of the plastic nut holding the Oil cooler in place I measured it and it is a 32mm. So is this from a 2.8 24v ? If so is it different seals i need and why would it be fitted?

No pics at present i will get 2moro. I am sure its even bigger than the filter one, as i tried to get my verniers on it today to find out.

Has anybody got any links or assembly guides/pics for a set of Top adjustable Koni Coilovers? I disasembled the 2nd hand set i just bought to powder coat the springs and clean up the dampers, threads etc and never took any pics/ drawings of how they were before i stripped them......Doh! Inner (Engine)side seal is leaking on mine. From what i could find after searching today it sounds like a right PITA job to do. Unfortunately most of the links to "How to" this repair isnt opening for me. Has anyone got a guide for this. First question is that everyone states its a 24mm bolt head to first remove on this, well unless i have a different cooler on mine it looks more like 35-40ish big plastic nut on mine. Any thoughts on this, is it just a plastic cover over the main nut? Of course i havent tried to move it yet as i dont have the right spanner/socket or can even get in with my biggest shifter, and i dont have seals yet but just getting gear and thoughts round this job before i tackle it.

So what would the total cost of the upgrade come to, by the time you get new discs,pads, calipers, hoses etc? I have just ordered a set of Brembo max discs and pads, total price is £102, sure it will do my day to day running about town.

Thanks but as i said i am not planning on going down that route or expense. What did everybody do before they went for that set up!? Did everyone run standard O/E discs and pads? If this was my G60 no expense or time would be spared but as a base project car the VR6 i wont go over the top with expense or time.
