SHORTCUTS! Now why didn't I think of that Bernie? And Maybe the drivers can all dress up as Disney Characters too! :cuckoo:

THreaten to cancel your policy... did that with mine (HIC) when we got the mk3-Anni.. went through to cancellation dept explained why I was cancelling the Rado's insurance early...and mystically they could offer me "a new policy bonus" of equivalent of 5yrs NCB.. bringing the price down from over £500 to about £250 for me and the missus...
-
"Protected" NCB is the way forward! I can do 2 claims in 3 years without losing my (15+yrs) NCB... It is, but that in itself costs a fortune doesnt it? Plus you cant protect them until you get full no claims and since i had an accident a couple of years ago that put me back down to 3 years so i'll have to wait another year - been a year without driving the car too.[/quote:1j1v31sm] Only cost me about £30 and can be protected from 3yrs up! They just don't tell you that, esp if you have had a claim in past 5 yrs... as it costs them money...

Question about mk3 Golfs, cos this forum knows all!
vwdeviant replied to bananawhip's topic in Drivetrain
Sure you want to put that on a public forum? -
Had mine broken into couple years ago same way (in a secure car-park scum apparently just walked in through the Block of appartments!) except my Scum-bag left his DNA everywhere as he didn't cover his hand up breaking it! :gag: Still he earned a nice cosy cell out of that... from memory he admitted it (hmm hard to see how he couldn't!) and apprently asked for a further 15 other B&E offences to be taken into consideration! :epicfail: If you have windscreen cover on your insurance then that also covers side windows too!

Exactly what the g/f bought me for xmas ! I really like my 255WT, but Garmin rip you off for map updates, at £100 quid you might as well buy a new one :mad2: Ended up with the 255W (£90 from Tescos!) with euro mapping, and speed cameras... anyone know if you can update this with the traffic do-dad later on? Also any "share-ware" site suggestions for Garmin users?

So in the F1-WAG-2010 Button: Vs Hamilton: So who would have taken the title? (and yes there were loads of pictures I could have used that would have made this NSFW! )
-
Looks like Lewis is taking the Button threat seriously... he's dumped whats-her-face to concentrate on his F1 career!

And this is a temp repair until they can get round to doing it properly with hot-roll tarmac yes? If so why do all Councils seem to use it as a perminant fix! :bad-words:
-
If the "new winter holes" weren't bad enough here (council were rubbish at gritting first time round...) some muppet in a F**T Bravo drives past us today on a cleared road with his :censored: snow chains still attached... Why not just hire a fekking Tank and do it properly you eejit! :bad-words: :epicfail:

Think Awarding him £13,500 when he was looking for over £1m says a lot! So basically (at the moment) this means that the FIA can't punish anyone... However Todts already changed the way these things are reviewed by setting up a properly independant body (as opposed to Max's Tame "World Council) In some ways it throws light on how personal things were such as £100m fine to Mclaren over "Spygate"... apparently before this no-one questioned the WC's decision in case they got worse... However the shadow of Mosley remains.. he's still on the FIA "Senate"...

Watch out World.. Flav's Back!

Not sure why Button got an MBE for winning the F1 WC after how many years...... And why not? Just the sort of attitude we have over here.... Kick/Ignore the winner... I mean how many people know we had a triple World champion in Motorsport (Andy Priaux in WTCC)? Not many I bet!

Exactly what the g/f bought me for xmas ! so how you finding it?
-
Matt thanks for the club shout! Mossy, there's a guy local who's great at dubs, been running vw's for more years than I can remember and looked after all mine... pop me a pm and I'll send his details..

resurrection time.. The Better halve's been given some cash towards a Sat-nav from my folks so... Added to ease of use/ speed cameras... we can also add traffic and euro maps... was looking at the Garmin 265WT anyone got one of these? Want euro-maps and traffic so we can take it to DK with us later in the year... I'm still not great with driving round over there, (Lots of long names!)

Yup my "ex Bro in law" (Hampshire traffic) was tasked with test driving the VRS in their assesment days...(Managed 130+ on A34!) Apparently the Scoobie WRX's they used to use became "Targets" after 2 got "trucker-nudged" out of lay-bys! South Bucks apparently has an un-marked Silver Rav-4 with the blue lights in the indicators... found the hard way, when he blocked me from overtaking (h was doing 50 in a 60) and when I flashed my disgust, on came the blues for about 5 secs, flicked them off and buggered off at well above the 60 limit... got his reg and was going to report him... but thought bugger it... Few years ago there was a Volvo "terminator" patrolling the M40... Dark-blue estate de-badged with tow bar, GB AND Caravan club stickers... sneeky fekker!

Bugger, after this year's Vietnam trip, it looks like the next family holiday's to Bolivia and Chile then! Anyone taken a 1yr old to south America? Great episode, must admit I had a good idea the Durex and Vaseline would come in handy... but was wondering about teh Tampax and Viagra! 17,000ft up in a car :cuckoo: -
That would be me then :D  I quite fancied having a Recaro in there but I'm not compromising comfort/safety for it, cheers very much for the info - I'll just get another Maxi-Cosi :) Strange as the Profi-plus came out top of the safety stakes I reviewed well above the Maxi-Cosi Cabrio... Plus when you look at teh Profi vs Cabrio the Recaro's much deeper in the sides and has better Anti-submarine protection and against "pre-tensioner" burns... Will have to do some more digging about and have a look at Group1+ seats... Storm Warning, where did the Seat expert work? Stupid to say especially where child safety's concerned, but you know that commision comes into their recomendations too! Can't see one of the best seat manufacturer's in the world comprimising of safety, especially as they sell masses in the "litigation-happy" USofA
-
Should do, get to a proper kids shop one that specialises in baby seats they'll tell you... Like I said had both the profi-plus and the bigger one, trail-fitted, both fitted fine... Where are you using the Maxi-cosi as it starnge it fits yours and not mine?
-
Yep one of those with the Recaro interior... no issues... unlike the Maxi-cosy which rocked when installed

Corrado modern classic, custom cars had their day?

Oh Yeah I'd just like to add the much Maligned 2.0 16v deserves saving too, NOT just VRs&G60s... -

Define: "Reversable Mods" ... Everything's "reversable" given time effort and expense... Non-stock paint gets my goat... but I can't paint... and why delete the active soiler? However I do feel that things like Orange rear indicators/side repeaters should have been something covered by Hella (A-la Mk2/3/4). Personally Dark cars with smoked sides, light cars with "Crystal" sides (with Silver topped bulbs PLEASE, no fried egg look) and either Red/tinted rears. Gareth/Pat/Tom, I know what you mean about spending on the "wrong" area... as an example take a look back at any pics from the early/mid 90's Aircooled scene and see just how many of these show cars are still with us (a good friend organises "Back to 89" and tries to locate old show cars... it's depressing the number of "Milestone" cars that were just filler). Unfortunately looking around the shows these days I see the same with the Mk1/2/3 crowd.. and it's shocking to see how some Modded mk4's have not "aged" well... A good solid mechanically sound Ratter over a kippered show princess...everytime... -
Tried to fit my Nephews in my Corrado last week, not possible I'm afraid. Spent 15 minutes trying to get it to fit in the front and back :brickwall: Pat, you sure it was one of these? I got one trail fitted by "Smyths" (Kids store) in the Rado and even fitted the front Recaro too! There was a Knack to it though.. as there is with the Baby seat... easy when you know how! ATM am using the Maclaren/Recaro Young Profi Plus (Up to 9 months) as was the only one that would fit the front Recaro seats as well as the rear bucket... But can't see why a Reacaro interior rear bench is any different to standard? However maybe a "downgrade" to the Bench style rear seats would help?
