  1. Heads distort that's why you have them skimmed... Block should be fine! Had a HG go in the same place on my Rocco... head skim and all good!
  2. Have an 82 Rocco GTi that's been in dry store for 9 years... Will need trailering ... Near Oxford As I said in dry store (you can see that from the dust!) the spots of water were from opening the door...
  3. Procon 10.. as seen on the Audi 100... aka... land-barge!
  4. Rubbish... boats go round corners without falling over! Actually a Coupe with "sorted" suspension handle pretty well considering.... they weigh about 300 tonnes... :epicfail:
  5. :censored: you Kev! I thought these things were fully Galvanised, like all Audis?? So what's with the rot?
  6. It's enough to fail an MOT. Give me a ring if you want to discuss & I'll put you in touch with the owner as she has the MOT sheets. You'd probably have to trailer it with no MOT though. John Damn.. been toying with the idea of a Sultana on air in my head recently! After seeing the early Mk2 Pish-rat on air at Players/Westside..
  7. Don't you have to be within touching distance (or even within sight) to beat them through the twisty bits? ha ha ha ha ha!!!! Yawn, so why is/was a Valver used in VW cup and not a VR then? :epicfail:
  8. Keep keys to hand and close doors boot etc.. It will go off once you reconnect it, but just shut bonnet (or press down on the alarm plunger that should be on the slam panel/ rear of engine bay) and hit the fob to turn it off... wait 5-10 seconds and dis-arm... Remember that all "Thatcham" alarms will require annual servicing (and proof of) to keep their "rating" with insurance companies... so you may want to book that for when you get the car back on the road too!
  9. HIC charge me £264 fully comp, protected, unlimited miles, all the goodies...
  10. Give the man a biscuit for he is correct! 8) EF - proud member of the "yes its a 16v" possee Hell yeah, beat those nose heavy boys through every twisty and roundabout! :salute:
  11. Foggy, as you stay on here you'll understand this is a question that's asked all the time... and the arguement about Storms being "re-Badged VR's" Cream Leather was an option... so while Rare, it's not "Strom" spec per say... All VR's were 2.9 unless it's an american one! ;)
  12. Were you at Players? If so have you moved the PAS reservoir from it's position of "Tie-wrapped to the Rad" yet? Can't see the point of a "Semi-smooth" engine bay if you're going to fill the boot with crap either... :confused4: Also think it looked better on the other wheels as well... and I really can't stand the filled bumper look very few carry this off, the resr look like Desperate Dan... Other than that the Porsche interor's a nice touch...
  13. Not very helpful.. you askled some howlers at first too Corsa... :nono: To Foggy, please provide us with some specs like paint and leather colours... in Essence the Storms were a "Limited run" VR6 the only real world difference is the paint and leather options, wheels, oh and a couple of badges! :norty: Now goes to hide in his "Storm cellar"!
  14. What you need is Tropical Fish!!!  The C will be fine then 8) The water marks may get to be a problem though... Catching them as you corner hard too! Although the makers of the "Steering-wheel Laptop desk" (seen elsewhere on the forum) probably have a nifty line in auto-aquarium products too!
  15. Why do I read this and hear a Bristolian accent? However this made me spit coffee! Awesome "Mr Garrison" style quote... hmmm.. :epicfail:
  16. Jeez it's just a VR with a badge!  No Dog guard will stop a Russell, get a cage!
  17. Dash tray's possibly due to the "Leaf guard" seal being old and leaking... Have a search should find a how-to.. and shows how you can even add a pollen filter too from memory..
  18. Anyone got an idea what group a Mk3 Anni 8v is? Kiddy-friendly 5-door if it makes a difference! Just been to HIC (current insurer for the Rado) and they quoted me, Fully comp at £624! Now to most this seems like a good price, until you factor in 10+ yrs no claims, and that I'm just the wrong side of 4-0! Oh and the Rado at Grp18 with all mods is just £265 fully comp! :cuckoo: Sure the Mk3 GTi 8v's come in at something between groups 7-10 :confused4:
  19. *Opens the "reverse rake" can of worms* But I'm with Kev, Level or slightly "arse down" is beat way, aids wieght transfer when accelerating, and breaking...
  20. If you can't be hassled. Laminex used to do "slotted" red tints... I have a set and they flash Orange with a stock bulb!
  21. All of Kev's Testing is done on his own private roads and not the Queens Highways! Honest!
