  1. Latest Rumours... Possible "Flav-F1" team (a-la Braun) if he overturns his Ban and Renault hand him their place.... Shumey's not denying a comeback with Mercedes F1 (personally I look forward to seeing the Schumy/Braun partnership in action again) Kimi's off to Citroen for a year's team WRC.. could this spark a Citroen F1 with Kimi and Seb-Loeb in 2012? Esp as Renault have all but pulled out!
  2. Cards off and check to see if s/roof drain has come detached? Footwell likely to be Foliage seal... do a search...
  3. Been Advised this by Alex at Elite.. and mendernza polishes for my car's paint (Pearl Grey and Magic Black) as VAG paint's generally quite tough (ignoring Tornado Pink!) Here's a link he sent me as to a good "Starter" pack... http://www.elitecarcare.co.uk/product_i ... cts_id=530 Hope this helps...
  4. Model T, GT40, Capri, Mustang, Falcon, RS200, T-bird,Transit....to name but a few highly influential cars not made by Cossie. Model T Influential not a "great" car... GT40 Ok a "Great" car (if your under 6ft) Capri... jesus death trap in the wet, unless you had a 1.6 asthma version Mustang... good to look at shite to drive, the 70-80-90's were so bad even most of the Yanks didn't like them Falcon... land barge RS200 Built by Cossie... T-Bird... :camp: Transit... beaten to "common-man load lugger" by VW 20 years before (see Splitty panal van) Then you have... Escort/Orion/Fiesta/Granada... and that's not looking at the stuff built by Ford US (remember the exploding Pinto? :epicfail: )
  5. See this is something I can't get my head round  ... if the drain holes are clear in the door bottoms then you shouldn't get enough standing water to go over the inner lip? If you think logically the water's only coming in via the outer window seal/felt channels.. so even in Monsoon conditions shouldn't be a huge amount. The membranes are Vapour barriers, they're not designed to hold back floods! Footwell flooding's probably down to Sunroof drains either blocked or not attached properly... you should be able to see them with the roof back... and they go down the A-pillars and C-pillars (from memory)... so you'll need the rear cards off..
  6. For the Rado.. and has worn ALL of these on the road! ;) Estorils LM Reps (same as Baron's "17 BBs Reps"?) Compromotive TH 16" Porsche 928's (yes the Snot-wheels) However on th elook out for some 17" RC's and 16x7" RX's for the Anni... anyone :confused4: Karl, I think you beat my wheel owning career in total with that list! :cuckoo:
  7. Spark plugs out and gushes water on crank over... not great! Fingers crossed Steve but sounds well and truely Hydraullic'd :( Sorry to hear this mate... had same coming back from Chrstening in the Anni yesterday... what looked like a puddle turned a lot deeper, not helped by the Pr*ck in the Landcruiser hauling though the other way at a goo 40mph! :cuckoo:... and the G-box is missing it's inspection cover over flywheel/clutch! Lucky didn't get too much inside!
  8. But why no Y10?? Possibly the most iconic car they ever did  Must admit thought WTF when they said Lancia (was almost certain they'd say TVR) but kind of makes sense... but I'm not sure they are the "ultimate" manufacturer... Could say Caterham.. only "one" car in their line up but what a car! :norty: And Kev, I had a Notchback that Kept up with a Boxster S, there's something about driving a 40yr old car that can make a mockery of something brand new and at something like 30x the cost... Its all about overcoming the inherant engineer issues of old cars... You'd probably hate most Hot-Rods too... But then go try what else was availabe "At the time" and you'll see just how ahead of the game Air-cool'ds were... Rugged, simple, easy to fix you can get by with a basic tool kit of about 8-10 bits, (8mm/10mm/12mm/crosshead/flathead/wheelbrace/jack, would be all you need to fix 80% of issues) and the fact you can pull an engine out complete in under 5 mins... I really can't see how the hell F**D made the top slot, they only made maybe 2 "Great Cars" and both of those were actually made by Cosworth...
  9. Go Speak to Bernard Newbury in Southend... he may fit you in... One of the only Trimmer's I'd ever recommend... you'd know why if you ever saw his Jade Ghia... :luvlove: LINKY!
  10. Have a bit of an issue... Got some Audioscapes and they have been "modified" inside to fit Large (guess 6.5") speakers, most of the G-Fibre lips appear to have been ground away. Problem I have is that I have a set of good (and expensive) Infinity 6" speaker I need to use but can't fit as there's not enough Lip... and No I'm not buying new speakers, these were a lot of dollar (as they are the referance series) Does anyone have a suggestion on how to remedy this? Or maybe have un cut some early-style Audioscapes thet want to swop out so they can run bigger speakers?
  11. And you also get a wet neck when you brake...
  12. Erm ... Replace it with a nice "airy" passat Moonroof? :confused4: Sounds like cables have either stretched or one of the little mounts have broken... either way it's a take it all out job... may as well pull sunroof cassette out, and replace with a Glass Passat estate one!
  13. Also has to do with tyre sizes too.. they look like 7's so I'd pick a 195/45/16
  14. Or the Type 3 in all flavours, Notch/Fast/Square back... Actually only one company has made consistantly "Great" cars.... and that's TVR... if you define "Great" as: madder than a box of alzheimer suffering frogs on absinthe......... with the ability to kill you with a random Tree/wall at any given oppertunity...
  15. Can I have it when you've finished? Actually is it any good? Seeing as the Rado will now be used less than it was.... Our new car, "Annie" arrived today! G has only been under it a couple of weeks, seems fine so far. As for "have it when I've finished" ... give me £55 and yes, you may! Seems fair, as long as winter's not finished by then! ;)
  16. It is indeed, I was hesitant about the MK5's but they do go well with it! Loving 8v torque.. even with a "Lumpy stick" and powerchip in it... But the missus not loving the 2-box Scopion exhaust.. :( And Think it may have to go for something quieter in the back as Jr will be there!
  17. Wonder how long the filler in the bottom lasted??? Would have thought first good smack and it'd pop out! Splits in your splitter are badges of honour, wear then with pride! :luvlove:
  18. Well with the Rocco going today thought I can't be without at least 2 VW's ... So here's "Annie" our Mk3 5-door 8v Anniversary.... More pics when it stops raining so about July then!
  19. Looking at the pics think there's supposed to be another box ahead of the rear diff (judging by the heat shield) so maybe get one put in there?
  20. Can I have it when you've finished? Actually is it any good? Seeing as the Rado will now be used less than it was.... Our new car, "Annie" arrived today!
  21. Get in touch with Alex at Elite Car care he's looking into some "proper" outdoor covers.... fleece lined too so won't mar the paint!
  22. TBH anyone who saw this car on its MANY outings at the pod would know it was a bit "Tired" I personally don't think Uglybloke mis-sold it... However good to see it being restored... this is the ONLY limited run Rado I'd own... if I had the money...
  23. OK we all know the KR into a 9a cam trick... However what other 16v cam recommendations are there out there? Either with or without head work??
  24. Did that because you keep "killing" other ones!
  25. Money... the clutch hydraulics are shot basically.. so as a minimum you'll need to replace one or other best to do both for piece of mind
