  1. Yeah I was thinking BlackDiamond! If they warp I'll have to go back to standard calipers. What others have you tried?
  2. I've just warped a set of drilled Zimmermans in 2000 miles. I bought Zimmermans to reduce metal to pad contact as I also warped a set of oem discs. I might add I have S2 calipers on my G60. Anyone know of a good set of discs that are made of something other than cheese?
  3. Bloody Hell that last post of mine was illiterate! I have corrected it! Rob (dirtytorque) stop talking about BBS wheels, it's affecting my concentration!
  4. Never before has so much interest been generated about a blown head gasket! I'll miss this chapter of the 8v daily. :( Edit: Berol!
  5. Well that's one way to sort your ignition timing. Well done, Bartholomew! http://www.thinkbabynames.com/meaning/1/Bartholomew
  6. Whilst playing with yourself!
  7. Yeah but he was breaking the whole car and didn't need it. It's pretty difficult to break a dizzy I would of thought. get some wWD40 on there and give it some light taps and loosen the bolt right off with the engine off and paint mark it just in case it moves suddenly.
  8. This from the man who broke a dizzy!
  9. It's nice isn't it! :D Thought it was an early spec but not so!
  10. Haha searched for "secret location"! viewtopic.php?f=11&t=51343&p=607830&hilit=secret+location#p607830 And that's the shot!
  11. No it had a great autumn shot and it was stock as stock could be. He submitted a picture for the calendar late last year but can't find it!
  12. Sorry for posting a new thread cos I can't find something but there was a thread on here a while ago, a guy turned around an original red G60 quickly and it looked great. He took some shots on country lanes in autumn which looked great anyone know the thread? Lame-ass description i know! :help: Driving me nuts!
  13. Yeah just slacken the nut off a touch with the engine running, turn it as required and then nut it up again. don't forget you need it up to temp and the BTS temp sender disconnected. IIRC?? Or if your just doing it roughly just do it without temp disconnect and up to temp.
  14. You need a strobe gun to set the ignition timing up correctly or you can just turn the dizzy till the idle comes down to around 1000rpm and the take it to a garage for them to set it up. Oh yeah check the throttle is fully closed as well.
  15. I never took loads of pics when I installed it as I was in a rush both times but I will say get all the pipework with it including the u-bend and engine support and if you can the bolts and clips. Goes straight in with a little trimming to clear the left headlight. Try and get the rad for the same car as mounting the original behind the golf IC is a little tricky with the support at the bottom left. Looks factory to be honest. edit you can see some of the pipework on here... http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=3866413&page=2
  16. Which the Golf FMIC or the oil cooler?
  17. Oh well I'm sure you'll be fine! Here's mine... Audi 80 Diesel Oil Cooler fitted straight into the old intercooler cowl, I made a bracket to mount it in. :) I like that idea :D So you must have gone for a front mounted intercooler? Golf G60 FMIC, one of the best things I've done performance wise.

  19. Holy thread resurrection Batman! Won't you get an air lock though as air is lighter than oil!

I read it on here somewhere, so do you need a new outer rubber seal or is it like the back window bead seal??

    .

Looks really nice hope to do the same one day. I thought the rear side windows were bonded in and you had to cut the rubber to remove them? Is that the case? Also been told you can't buy the seals without the windows!
