Nice shot, I'm jealous.

I know, it was hot! I forgot to put my t-shirt on before I left the house. :camp: :bonk: Well Junkie we have looked into each others eyes in the pit lane at Santa Pod! I must of made an impression on you, eh! :camp: It is Chris.

Thanks for the comments everyone, I thought this might get ignored. Cheers. Rob very good about the ride height, Junkie I'll be keeping the C as much as I like riding I don't have a stable at work, yet! :D I'll seriously consider the VW emblem! :D This horse has got more than 6 gears, actually almost variable gearing.

:D For anyone interested he's a 17 hand ex-hunter type called Micky. He needs his confidence building up and a bit of meat on his bones. It's took me 4 years to get my own horse, I'm very pleased with him as is my instructor. :D And you all thought Corrados were bad for getting under your skin and bankrupting you! Action shots are bad due to the missus putting the camera on a slow shutter speed, I'll get some better ones as he progresses. Mods please don't move, just a bit of fun. :notworthy:

Seconded. I like Red Rados and BBS's. What have you broke now Rob. :D Looks real good, Helena!

Sorry but honestly I thought they were green wheel trims when I first laid eyes on them. I only realised they were D90's when I saw the porsche emblem. I don't like but a least we all know what green wheels look like on a grey c now. :D -
Seems unlikely to be honest! :) Where are you going to plumb in your injectors on an 8v carburetor head? Are you suggesting that you will also use a points distributor and carburetor aswell? Also pb engine would be about 10.5:1 CR and with a kr bottom end about 11 or 12:1.

Typically I cover around 12,000-15,000 miles per year but in 2007 it was off the road for 5 months and in 2008 it was off the road for almost 4 months while it was having engine stuff done to it. My point was that this is a high maintenance tyre. You have to keep a careful eye on the the tread depth of R888's continuously - sometimes even after just a single bit of "sprited" driving. They also wear faster in the summer due to the warmer tarmac. After three years I'm just starting to tire (pun intended) of it all. With some T1-R's I would sacrifice the extreme performance of the R888 but it would be nice just to put some boots on it & largely forget about them for 6-10 months! You'll realise what I mean if you start using the R888s :) I've bought some spare wheels so I can run them when I choose and don't have to run them all the time plus I can get some winter tires on the other wheels! :)

Cheers mate, i plan on having it ceramic coated. :salute: Mucho help   Cheers mate. I am on dodgy ground with the fecking thing like you say, but the manifold along with a system/cam/nitrous/remap etc was supposed to get done a while ago...And i kinda feel like it just aint finished yet and id love to see what sort of figures it can give as one good point is that the engine is a nice and tight one with real good compression, dosn't use a drop of oil etc. I know what you mean about grinding a washer, can just picture what ya saying with the runners being close to the holes for the studs. Im not overly keen on using stainless bolts with the diffarent expansion rates between them and the head really. All the studs.nuts/washers should hopefully be in good order as i replaced them all not many miles back, but id still go for new nuts/washers anyway. One thing im stuck on is how to actually go about fitting it along with a new system. If i fit the manifold ill have to drive it to pipewerx very loudly  If i fit it at pipewerx (assuming Ian would let me) i may run into problems etc. Not sure... Skip the powder coating, use the money to pay Ian to fit it, he ended up re-fitting mine as I got a gasket backwards and yes I drove over there with the exhaust blowing like a b'stard in rush hour. I'd had enough after struggling all weekend. :mad2: End of the day it's up to you but I can guarantee it ain't no fun fitting them. I'm sure he'd let you do it in the car park then when you get annoyed you can let him finish it. But if you snap a stud?!?! :nono:

Sounds like a dildo! :luvlove: That's the wrong smiley! That's better. Sorry I'm going now. -
Mate if your on dodgy ground with your relationship with this car I wouldn't get stuck in to fitting a G-Werks Manifold, they are a bit of a b'stard to fit. I found the best way is to buy lots of those thick exhaust washers. get a grinder on the first one so it sits flat to the manifold flange as they can contact the pipe to flange welds and sit at an angle. Then use more washers so you only need to turn the nuts a few times, rather than 50 times bent over the engine swearing. Or use some good quality stainless allen bolts like G-Werks. I wouldn't want to remove all the existing studs without the head out the car incase one snapped and those allen bolts can round out easily. The proper 12mm exhasut nuts from VW cost a fair few quid but they do last and cope with the heat. Oh yeah then you have to connect the exhaust to it, that's fun too! Oh yeah and make sure you get all the gaskets the right way round! :bad-words: Oh yeah if it runs close to the steering UJ boot use a piece of aluminium with stainless straps around the boot to protect it. The grease inside has a fairly low flash point. Ask me how I know this! :| hth

Aye! :D After some extensive research!

Don't worry about it too much alot of cars pink under certain conditions. The G60 engine has knock detection to retard timing and bleed boost, knock is a more severe form of pinking. I couldn't run 95 ron fuel without suffering knock with my old engine and off the shelf chip but it does ok now with a custom chip but I still run 98 ron shell fuel. Just changing driving style slightly can eliminate it. But yes check your timing and fuel pressure as the G60 pumps are getting old and weak now so worth checking but if your not mechanically minded you may want to get it done professionally.

Hey that's not bad £80.80 each fitted in 195/50R15 82V R8882G form cool! :D
-
Only problem with only fitting them to the front is that your rear end might see a bit more action.... I have had the back break out on me a few times in the wet when I've had good tyres up front and shonkey units out back. Dunno if it would be an issue or not, but might be worth considering... I've got good eagle F1's on the back, as you say, bad tyres on the rear is never good, been there bought the t-shirt ect. I'm hoping for a little more traction off the line, better grip when braking and more turn in and less diff action in corners. :D Want to fit some stiffer (not lower, much anyway) springs and a rear ARB. But the tyres will need replacing soonish. So...
-
Where can you buy these from now fitted? Struggling! And wouldn't mind trying some on the front this summer.
-
If it's only at FT then it's probably the engine pinking due to the warmer weather. G60's do like to pink on 95 ron fuel try changing down a gear don't let them lug at low revs at FT? http://www.diyfixit.com/motor/faultfinding/pinking/pinking.htm

Cheapest I could find for disc skimming was £99+vat at awesome-gti new VW discs are £52! So sod it! New VAG discs! I may try FD2500 pads see if thats any better at heat management. EDIT: Except I don't think you can get them for Girling G60 Calipers! :confused4:
-
I've cancelled the BD discs and decided to have my old VAG discs skimmed and reuse them they have plenty of thickness left so sod it. :D Might try cooling ducts as KipVR suggests.

I think that article was talking about the American or Canadian market or that fact it was an Automatic. I can't quiet tell it's a little ambiguous. In RHD 89 "G Plate" models are rare I think, H and J are more common and then K get rare again. I've never seen another G60 on the road only 16v and VR's so I'd say they are the rarest Corrados in England, or the NorthWest anyway. Oh yes almost forgot, apart from the 2.0 8v, which is stretching the description of "Sports Coupe". On Autotrader currently there are 3 RHD G60, 1 LHD, 5 1.816V, 4 2.016v, 3 2.08v and 15 VR6's excluding TCS ads! So that's a good gauge unless VR6 owners don't like there cars much! :D The LHD one is nice looks like US spec!! £3k 60,000 miles.

I doubt they will warp. But make sure you buy a hard compound pad to go with em or they will eat your std, ebc greenstuff type pads like a wolverine through a marmot  Going to see what they are like with the pagid pads I have on there now, I really hope your right about them not warping. There £150!! :| Guess I'll have to put plenty of wax on my wheels if I'm to have any hope of keeping them clean! EDIT: Please don't tell me if you can or have got them cheaper, please!
-
Yeah maybe, they do have a feed from the front of the car to the arch liner, but I guess the extra pad area is just cooking the standard discs, just ordered a set of BD grooved discs so I'll see how it goes. If they warp I think I'll give up and just drive slower! :D
