What a great build thread, unbelievable attention to detail! Must be very satisfying to have done so much work on your car. Wheels look spot on!
-
Sure why not ! lol It is the performance trim one?
-
Cheers mate. Nice to know before I make the investment :)

Listen mate theory is one thing practice is another. I would prefer to hear from people who have had a carbon bonnet fitted and use it with higher than normal temps under the bonnet, rather than reading up specs. Whilst I know specs are important, and most companys claim the bonnets will resist heat etc, there is no better test than actual user testing. As for bad mouthing...obviously you are blind to a sarcastic reply. Tell you what I will go and delete my reply as obviously it is very distressing for you. Apologies if I have offended anyone, all I can put that down to is the stinking cold I have. Its just a shame that a post is more likely to attract sarcasm these days, rather than answering the question the user asked.

Thank you. I am assuming this bonnet was from performance trim?

I was asking for peoples experience with a carbon bonnet on a turbo car and if heat build-up had affected the bonnet structurally or cosmetically. I know specs are important, and most companys claim the bonnets will resist heat etc. But I would prefer to hear from actual end users.

Do any peeps on here have a carbon fibre bonnet and run a turbo? Just wondered how the bonnet copes with the extreme heat after shut down?
-
Nice one! Would it be poss to confirm if there would be a discount available on the CF bonnet as well? Cheers

Going for 8" on the front and 8.5" on the rear.....dont want to start modding arches...yet lol I know alot of peeps have run them as et 35 and had no probs with coilovers, bit concerned though as my bbs rx (et35) were quite close to the collies with that offset and i had to space them.

Some pics ! The mats come with or without holes to secure (a fixing kit can also be supplied - basically a plastic screw, that screws into the carpet and sound deadening?) I'm afraid colours will be limited, due to the low stock carried...therefore I will need to check if beige can be done. Will need to check postage aswell as the mats are heavy, will weigh and check tonight.

LOl would love to say I haver more plans :) but dont want to jinx it!

B*****ks! and the curse the lot of you!!!! Put me down as intrested! any chance of discount on a bonnet as well (not the race spec one!)
-
Hi mate, PMd you on RS!

OK....I should have the mats wednesday LOL

LOL intresting article...shame they didn't endurance test. I had one of the top 3 wrenches, worked great untill one day it decided to shoot its inards out! Prices are also a little off key to, i paid no more than £50 for my teng.

MMMm my 2p...sounds like a spoiled twat to me LOL -
Not worth messing arround with a cheap torque wrench, as they are required for one purpose in mind and if they dont measure torque well you may as well put it in the bin. I basically bought a set of cheap torque wrenches......they were so inaccurate it was a joke, after my initial error i invested in a set of torque wrenches from teng tools. The differnce on every level is unbelievable, the quality and build is superb and the wrench itself very accurate indeed. Granted the wrenches were twice as expensive, but when your using it to to torque bolts for subframes, rear axles, engine brackets, gearboxes and engine and mounts it really does give you peace of mind that the bolts are torque'd up to spec FYI - even screwfix stock them now! http://www.screwfix.com/prods/22796/Van-Car-Accessories/Mechanics-Tools/Teng-Tools-Drive-Torque-Wrench

Sorry should have updated this.....still messing arround trying to get insurance done! Mats are done....just waiting for the fixing kit.....so near yet so far! Hopefully should have them buy the end of the week! with or without the fixing kit!

I have often found TPS to be cheaper than gsf/ECP, if not ask for a discount :) they have always given me at least 10%. Prob I have with parts from GSF/ECP is the quality is hit and miss, bits I would never buy from GSF/ECP include bearings, radiators some bits do require closer examination to confirm supplier. Last thing I bought was a set of coil packs, TPS were £15 cheaper and gave me the proper bosch ones.

Dont see why not! lol What kind of finish are your mats in? are they rubber backed? single carpet layer? is the binding fabric? if you can stick up a pic and some details I will get you a price.

Cheers mate, Looking forward to getting out to lots of shows this year!

Have to admit they do look nice! 8)
