That Polo looks uber sweet!!!! My bodyshop too the piss with my motor, decided to spray and polish with the windows open. Made a right old mess, would have a weird, especially if you got leathers.

MMmmm wondered why the centre tunnel was side tall/wide! - perfect for a propshaft! If it handles like even a bog standard syncro round the roundabout I iwll be chuffed! Then again by the time I done, it will be all powerflexed, coilovered and strutbraced!

Been busy, work has been a b***h, not really done much to the motor since you saw it last! LOL Need to get bits stripped, powder coated and buy loads of lilttle bits! spent £45 just on nuts and bolts the other week! Certainly was! sometimes wonder why I did it and just didn't do stuff to the engine instead! It has been a total learning experince so far, before this all I use to was the odd oil change - LOL - Luckily I have a very good teacher!

Cheers! Thanks for the advice for the brakes, got my hangers in the end - from Nedtherlands!!! LOL Also have mk4 calipers tuning up soon!

Hey dude, What about the metal gaskets advertised on german ebay? sandwiched between two gaskets??? The 2.0 has a higher comp ration compared to the 1.8? think these thicker metal spacers cater for that? Just wondered if anyone had used them: http://cgi.ebay.de/VW-G60-16V-2l-Verdic ... dZViewItem 40 euros?

You not building yours now then? As for the oil temp sensor location isn't that at the back of the block on the right hand side, just below the head? Think it is actually on the back of the head, side nearest to the gearbox, you can see sensor/wires sticking out

LOL  I am evetually looking to turbo charge and wanted arround 220+ (nothing mental!) Cost is an issue, also I have good access to S2 parts. You can pick up S2 manifold, wastage, K24 turbo, downpipe etc for peanuts as there are so many S2 being broken. I understabd what you are saying about furture proofing and the effciency of newer turbos, but won't this add a significant cost? especiall if you want to past the 300bhp barrier .e.g. forged pistons etc?
-
For a mildy boosted application the K24 turbo should be ok, shouldnt they?
-
Nice interior turbomagikz!!!!!
-
Hey dude! Try the back of the head! where the oil temp sensor for the MFA goes. Nice and close to the turbo too!

Think I would cry if I came back and found my car like this! Shame when somone puts in hardwork and effort and scum just wreck it.

Once you take your old one off your engine will be noisy as fook! I had to change bonnets, I kept my old lining problem is finding something that will stick it back down, going to have a look at a few adhesives next week in bedford. Anyway, I looked at alternatives, one way would be to use lining off another vehicle, then cut to shape and secure into the bonnet support rails - this option would be cheap as well. Dunno if any of this helps though - LOL! Everything else just seemed expensive!

Visually you can't tell, you can rev the engine and see how far back the engine moves. Watch to see if it lift of the front mount. I only saw how bad mine was after it was removed, it was in 2 pieces (not good). It is probably the cheapest option and worth replacing as it is a known weakspot. To change the mount you need axle stands, trolley jack, good socket set. Plus you need to be confident what you are doing. If not it is not a massive job and should take any mechanic no more than 30 mins

Did you make any adjustment to brake reg after lowering?

Really looking forward to seeing this interior! Goes to show nothing is impossible!
