Hi Bally, I had a similar prob on my escort, in the end I replaced the stalks, this did not solve the prob, in the end it turned out to be the fusebox, the soldering within it had come loose and was causing all kinds of probs. This is a common prob on escorts though. Probably best (cheaper) to try stalk first though! Defo worth getting an autoelctrcian to check it over if you have no joy though.

Feel gutted for you mate... :( ....someone 'manged' to scratch my wing and door (on opposite sides!) this weekend. That will teach for me only driving it once a month and trying to avoid parking in dodgey places!!! what can you do?

Few nasty surprises when stripping my C's interior

Damn!!! Those pics are shocking   Fancy driving that about all those years, talk about playing with a loaded gun!! This is exactly why you should always assume the worst when buying a car. Surprised it had only 2 owners though! -
Hi Mate, glad you got a geniune vw item, there is a big difference, gsf and ecp ones do only have half the cooloing tubes, there is pratcally no weight to them as well. Like Dave said the non vw one will do the job, but it will not have the same amount of redundancy. My temp normally struggles to get over 100c and only gets to about 108 to 110 when stuck in traffic in summer. also worth checking hoses as they go brittle, i replaced both main rad ones, the one to the resvior and the one from the pump to the oil cooler/heater. also forgot to mention use only g12+ I mixed this with deionsed water I bought from halfords for a few quid. Also once rad is in, before connecting the top hose, fill the sytem from the top hose, the top up from resvior, make sure you get a good few litres in there before running.

Thanks for your replies, some food for thought!! Sorry I am being hush hush about my mods, just not sure they are going to go ahead (due to time, money and baby!) Basically I wanted to turbo my valver or get 20v turbo lump, do 20v turbo cars have lift pump and under car pump as well? Cheers
-
A few reasons, first being cost of replacing both. How come the valver needs so much pressure for the fuel system? I read a few posts before posting, It seems not all corrados had 2 pumps e.g. early G60, not sure about VR6.
-
2.0 16v Replacing Both Fuel Pumps, is it poss to use just one uprated pump? Has anyone done this? what pump do you use and how much does it cost?

Yep my fronts seemed to catch worse than the rears. I went for clear indicators and M3 stlye lights on the back, as the front is all clear, guess it is just personal pref. I did look on memebers gallery as well just to check out my options. As for bulbs think they only come in one size. Also for my side indicators I found the new seals were crap (leaked) and ended up using a set of new geniune ones

I had use 5mm spacers on my front as well after I dropped the suspension. Tyre was catching the coilovers
-
Looks Bang On mate!!!! Did you use spacers on your alloys? Also what suspension did yoo go for?
-
FK AK Coliover kit - FK budget suspension - very good Q for price and is height adjustable

Nice work, looking forward to the updates! -
Cheers guys, not a bad fit. Mine was the flimsy version, so I I used some extra strong corded multi purpose tape on the underneath, juust to make it more rigid as well. The scuttle was just off an old mk2 golf, just noticed the group buy off the full length scuttle has gone ahead as well. As for dimensions would be hard to measure as there are a few curves on the top of the scuttle and underneath it, the mk2 is a very good fit.
-
I also used the rubber strip that goes on top of the golf bulkhead. This holds down the top of the cover to the corrados windscreen plastic bit. There was no need to remove the plastic bits under the wipers. I also trimmed the edges of the rubber strip to clear the bonnet hinges, see pic 4 for close up. Should hopefully keep all the crap out!
-
bingo.......mmmmm wonder what other bits will fit ! LOL  some bits are not right, just need to cut and stick though
-
Gutted I did not got to E38, I therefore had too much time on my hands this weekend gone. As it was raining saturday, I was indoors. I was playing arround with the scuttle cover, be honest guys what do you think? it certainly covers alot more stuff than the old one: and it cost me nowt!

Last time I rung them (6 months ago) about buying a new front splitter, the guy told me they had them in stock, but to go to VW as it was cheaper!! :cuckoo:
-
Spoke to them on the phone and visited there establishment, not impressed.
