ok stripped everything down tonight, cleaned throttle body etc and the isv damper is fine!!! ISV opens when 12v applied too it. Put it back on and ran the car - high idle, unplugged it and it was idling about 500-800rpm. Measured the voltage the connector was supplying when engine running and its 1v which is not enough to power the ISV. Confused now - any help?? Cheers, Andy

hmm fair enough - il swing by VW see if they can stick there diagnositcs on it. Its a £130 lead tho with the full version of vagcom so woul be a it dissapointed if it couldnt read this :( Cheers again Toad, Andy

so if it was cracked could this cause high idle?? wil probably take it off tonight and have a look - cheers 4 your help!! Andy

ye sorry vr6 it is - 1994. Its not idled properly (800ish) for a few months now, today was about the first time. No faults at all have been read either. There are no air leaks - sounds like a hissing noise is coming from the isv damper box tho - culd this be scracked and causing it or is it normal?? Cheers, Andy

Hey, had this problem for a while now, when i start the car, it idles at around 1500-2000RPM. Sometimes it will come back down to around 1000RMP after a while and other times it wont. Went out today and put vagcom on it with the engine running nd after about 15min the idle was fine at 750ish RPM. Details i read from vagcom are Throttle angle 10.4degrees ISV adaption 1.086 ISV duty cycle 52.4% +- 3% ish Have tried serveral times to lean the ISV but makes no change. Anyone got any ideas what may be wrong?? No fault codes either!!! Cheers, Andy

Hey, My ABS light is on in my 1994 VR6. Firstly, it came on intermitantly but now, it is on all the time. I have tried scanning it with Vagcom but all i get is "can not continue - too many communication errors" Any ideas what could be wrong?? Does it sound like the ECU has water damage?? If so, wher can i get one from and how much?? Thanks in advance, Andy

hey sorry its a 1994 VR6. Look for a vacume leak?? where and how lol. The damper of the ISV sounds like it has air leaking from it but teres no cracks etc in it. Cheers, Andy

hey, have had this problem for a while now. I have tried cleaning the ISV with petrol, carb cleaner etc but its still the same. The ISV looks fairly clean inside and certainly moves ok - doesnot stick. Any ideas what i can try next?? Cheers, Andy

Hey need some help with 2 leaks i have. First is on top of the engine on a pipe beside the MAF. There appears to be oil leaking on the pipe and the wiring connector that plugs into the part thatsin line with the pipe. Second leak can only b seen from under the engine. Looks like its from the bottom of the injectors as the fluid is over te lower part of the manifold. The injectors are leaking slightly but it looks more like oil on the base of the manifold!! Any help with what these leaks may be an how to sort them would be great. Cheers in advance, Andy

I would do: Fuel pipes and tank straps Handbrake cable and clips Oil sump + leaks + dipstick Then all suspension bushes. Andy

Hey, little problem wih my C. When i start it from cold, it stalls immediatley. You have to give it some gas for around 15seconds then its fine. Any ideas what could be wrong?? Only fault with vagcom is coolant temp sensor short to earth which there is. A wire has been tapped into the earth on the sensor and straight to the battery (i presume the wire is broken down the line in the origional loom). Cheers, Andy

hey, i have a VR6 1994 and it is constantly idling high. I have just serviced it and cleaned the ISV in petrol overnight but its still the same. No error codes being thrown up by vagcom either. Anyone got any ideas what may be the problem?? Cheers for any advice in avance, Andy

Hey, Got a GPS or phone aerial on the rear window of my Corrao that i want to remove. Problem is will there be a hole in the glass?? There is a screw in connection on the base thats inside the car. Dont want to try to remove it incase i break it and there is a hole. Looks like its just stuck on tho. Any adivce / suggestions would great. Cheers, Andy

Hey i have a very anoying rattle/scrape from my engine on my VR6. It has 115k on it with FSH. Sounds like a bearing or possibly a chain making a noise...changed the fan belt tensioner as it was shot but stil not cured it. Sounds worse when your sitting inside with the windows up...when you put them down you cant hear it that much. Also if your going along and put yourfoot on the cutch, the noise goes away. Any ideas?? Timing chain or tensioners possibly?? Cheers for the advice. Andy
