Had a look in the search but cant find an answer. I have aero blades fitted to my C. Both 19" but the location of the fitting is about an inch or 2 different on the two!! Anyone got any ide awhat set of blades i need to buy (make and model of car) to get these to fit?? Cheers, Andy

Hey, bought a new cv joint today as mine was knackered, took the old one of and went to use the new clips on either side to find out they had no apparent way of tightening?? Its a drivelink one....from Dingbro but the clips are basically 3 winds of steel but theres no tightening piece or anythin on it?? Hard to describe Anyhow, i abandoned them and used stainless cable ties. will these be ok or will they leak?? Cheers, Andy
-
sorteeeed. ended up being a dry joint in the ecu. soldered it up and all is good :) Cheers for the help guys Andy
-
ok cheers il check this is seated ok tomorrow and probs get a new one monday to eliminate it. Any way of checking these...no?? If this is ok any other ideas about what i can check lol?? Cheers, Andy
-
sorry bout that. you checked Pin 33 etc. ECU plug to battery....no continuity. Where is the ECU relay then? under at the fuse box i take it?? any idea what one?? Also wheres the best place too get one and how much roughly (dealers??) The ECU plug and twist connector in the engine bay are both ok and free from corrosion!!!! Arghhh i hate car electrics!! Cheers for the help btw!! Andy

hey iv not changed the throtle sensor!! Ye the two temp sensors earth through the ecu...cant remember the bin but its the green and black??? wire. This seems to be fine. Its the other wire..blue in colour which goes back to the ecu which is also reading continuity to earth!! Cheers, Andy
-
yupp no continuity between sensor plug and ecu plug. earths through the ecu?? what this mean then?? Both the terminals on the plug have continuity with earth?? Cheers, Andy
-
checked the resistance between the + terminal on the plug for the temp sensor and the battery and its 2.7kohms. Looks like a short somewhere?? Checked the resistance again between where the plug goes into the ecu and the battery and no continuatity. Soooo....the circuit must be shorting in the ecu???? Andy

ok checked and all hoses are ok as are all plugs. scanned again with vagcom today and following codes VAG-COM Version: Release 311.2-N Control Module Part Number: 021 906 258 AG Component and/or Version: MOTOR PMC 1 Software Coding: 0261203109 Work Shop Code: 1267357531 4 Faults Found: 00527 - Intake Manifold Temperature Sensor (G72) 30-00 - Open or Short to B+ 00522 - Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor (G62) 30-00 - Open or Short to B+ 00518 - Throttle Position Sensor (G69) 30-10 - Open or Short to B+ - Intermittent 00513 - Engine Speed Sensor (G28) 03-00 - No Signal Throttle position sensor is a new one?? Cleared them and the only 2 that came back were the temp sensors. They came back straight away, cleared them while runnig, the revs dipped down then back up when the faults came back a split second later. Anyone???? Pretty sure the wirings ok. Cheers, Andy
-
tried all the above. when i clear the codes, the revs drop for a second then they come back and the shoot up!!!! thinking it must have something to do with the temp sensor but as the wire seems to be ok back to the ecu and the sensor is reading a resistance, i dont no what it could be?? Cheers, Andy

no idea toad...where are they located and il check??? Also why change the exp tank cap?? Cheers, Andy
-
ok confused but here you go lol Cheers, Andy

Hey i have a 1994 corrado vr6. The idle on it is constantly high (about 2000rpm) I have scanned it with vagcom and get the following readings VAG-COM Version: Release 311.2-N Control Module Part Number: 021 906 258 AG Component and/or Version: MOTOR PMC 1 Software Coding: 0261203109 Work Shop Code: 1267357531 3 Faults Found: 00522 - Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor (G62) 30-00 - Open or Short to B+ 00527 - Intake Manifold Temperature Sensor (G72) 30-00 - Open or Short to B+ 00513 - Engine Speed Sensor (G28) 03-00 - No Signal I have replaced the ISV and its still the same. new coolant temp sensor as well and it reads about 28ohms???? when warm. The wiring for the plug has been tested back to the ecu and that is fine...no breaks there. When i plug a 2nd isv in (off the car) with the car warm, the valve opens about a quarter!! Have unplugged the ecu and disconected the battery then done the ecu reset but still the same!! Anyone got any ideas as im confused Cheers, Andy

Hey, Iv got a 1994 VR6 and the sunroof motor packed in on it. Replaced that and it will tild fine but when you go to open it it will only slide about 10mm before the motor cuts out (sounds like a limiter or something cutting it out). You can open the sunroof and close it by pressing the switch over and over and opening it 10mm at a time. Anyone have any idea whats up?? Cheers, Andy
-
nah not so much lol. Older cars have a dizzy n rotor arm but newer ones have a coil pack (like a rectangular black box that your HT leads connect to on side of engine)!! At least thats what all the newer VR6's iv saw have and mine has!!! Andy
-
mine does this aswell and i have decided its because my injectors leak slightly. this causes a loss in fuel pressure so when u go 2 start it again it doesnt start as the fuel pump didnt prime engine enough. therefore, when u try and start it again it catches!!!! Prob alot of bull tho tbh haha Andy

lol cheers...i no i will prob regret it but need something more economical!!!! Thinking about another MK4 golf 1.8t, audi A3 1.8t quattro sport, an early S3 or mabe a MK4 golf gt tdi or An 03> A3 tdi.....decisions decisions lol Andy

emm 3years no claims, no points etc. me main driver and mum and dad on the policy its £880 fully comp!!! Not too bad i think..considering i got a MK4 golf gti trubo when i turned 18 and the insuirance was £1600....why did i pay that lol???? Andy
-
nah not really. re-done the front end (all ball joints, bushes, etc) new ht leads, coolant sensors etc. Going to do the timing chains and get the body work tidied up a wee bit as its a bit scruffy in some places then sell her :( Im back at uni now and cant afford to run it since im not working full time and the fact im only 20!!! Cheers for the coments! Andy
-
Hey, had this for since October so though i should post some pix up!! All coments welcome :) Cheers, Andy

Hey, I have a scorpion alarm cat 1 fitted to my C. It works perfectly but the range on the remote is soooo poor. You have got to be right up at the window pointing it in to get the car to open. Is there anything i can do about it?? Extend the length of the aerial?? Would it just be a matter of connecting some wire onto the origional and runnig it to give a better range?? If so does anyone know which wire it would be and where the norm place to locate the brain is?? Cheers, Andy

Hey im looking for someone that has a late VR6 in Glasgow who could meet up and swap ISV's till i see if it cures the fault. Vagcom is reading a short to earth on it with the valve both plugged in and unplugged and therefore, im thinking it may be the valve that is knackered. Cheers, Andy
