I have this part without the valve. you can have it make. I also have one with the valve but would want some money towards a pint or two as these are quite sort after.

If you can buy them new, surely just swap the lenses to make it an early spec. Plenty of people any late spec lenses or complete lights to sell the left overs.

could be a number of things. Check the earths are ok using a multimeter first

Got it from another fog lamp that had broken plastics but good glass and carefully separated the two.

Hi Guys, what a brilliantday. Had my Birthday celebration on Friday so was a little green in the morning, but turned up at Sub11 at 10am to have the car oil and filter changed by James as I couldn't be bothered to do it myself this time just. Slowly people started to turn up just after 11am, and that was such a relief as this would become a little embarrassing if no one turned up. But boy, I shouldn't have worried. We had over 24 cars turn up and as a bonus the weather for it was spot on!! It was great meeting up with some familiar faces, but just as good seeing new ones. The selection of cars was just brilliant, I was pleasantly surprised on what the quality of gear we have in the local area. The Easter egg competition went well, congrat's done to Tempest for getting the Best Car Choc' egg, well deserved! I feel a little bad to have received best modification especially after organising the whole thing but thank you very much for your votes. You'' be glad to know that the egg will be given to my girlfriend for her support leading up and on the day. Cheers to Glyn who took the photo's of the day, Ive had a sneak peak and they look great. Once I get some copies Ill share them. Once again, thankyou to James at Sub11 for opening up shop on his day off and allowing us to take up the space and to Chris for putting the poster together. But I must not forget to say thanks to all of you who turned up (and to those who tried to make it ), you made it all worth while and I must apologise if I didnt get to speak to you properly, maybe next time I can relax a bit more? I'm now off for a beer in this lovely weather, and will consider the possibility of another meet. Send in your ideas/suggestions and Ill put something together for either this year or next.

Is this actually worth anything to anyone?

this comes at the wrong time for me. I will be looking to buy a bare shell for a new project in the future. No help for you, I know but it does tell you that there is a need for this kind of stuff. -
replace the relay?? lol tbh, I wasnt aware the blower was controlled by a relay
-
I havent had chance to clean my car and ill be there for most if not all of the day, so that will even things out lol. I might have to end up getting up v early on Saturday with a birthday hangover and try to clean it before the meet.

there are speed bumps unfortunately, but they arent huge, however I dont think they are less than 50mm so you may have some issues. Any way around this ie do they flex, can they be removed or carry some wooden plans with you? Be great to meet you.
-
No catering van for the day guys, so bring food with you or be prepaired to go to some local places for food. The plan is to start from 11am, some people cant make it until later ie around 2 or 3pm so will see if we can keep things going until they turn up.

Still available so sent you a PM with payment details.

Be careful guys, your basing choice without facts. My priority list is corrosion resistant, weight saving and then finish hence my choice for the fibre glass versions. I may upgrade to full carbon fibre version closer to the time. Don't get me wrong, its you own decission, and Im not in this for any money, just to allow for you guys to get some great gear on the rado's that will hopefully keep them going for longer and make them look better (if that's possible lol)

davidwort can you confirm the weight of the boot without the glass? Carbon according to looking online is roughly 25% the weight of steel. The steel bonnet is 18kg (without underbonnet foam) and roughly 7kg in Carbon/Fibreglass setup, this results in about 26%* so that seems to match the numbers found online (note* fibreglass is slightly heavier, a complete fibreglass bonnet is roughly 8kgs, just 1kg heavier). If you (or anyone else) confirm the weight of the rear boot without glass and mechanisms, this will give us an indication of weight saving if it were to be made from CF. Agreed the glass is a heavy part of the boot, but with it out I would be surprised if the boot actually weighed less than the bonnet in either material. To take full advantage with weight saving, plexi glass, no wiper and fixed bracket spoiler, no wiring is the way to go. (plate plinth is negligible, possibly a saving of .5kg if CF) There are additional benefits though besides the weight, such as aesthetics and corrosion resistant. You interested then?

ok, can I ask why you preffer to keep the standard one? Right that takes us back down to 9! I really thought this was going to be a winner but seems not  I spoke to Mike and he has clarified a few issues... They will fit exactly the same as steel. The parts may be 1-2mm thicker, but that can be accounted for when bolting/adjusting the hinges and catch. As long as everyone appreciates that these are not steel panels made in wolfsburg, but carbon panels made in west-sussex, everyone should be very happy with fit and finish. We need a group-buy to total around £4500 to make it viable, so potentially that could be 7 fully carbon bootlids or 16 fully fibreglass, but usually a mixture of both. Deposits can be returned if production doesn't go ahead, but not if production goes through and people change their minds. Deposits can be 'topped up' at the stage when parts are being made, if someone wants to upgrade to carbon or fully carbon. 'standard carbon' is carbon outer and fibreglass inner. We call it 'standard' because that's what 99% of other bonnet manufacturers sell. 'fully carbon' is the premium version with carbon inner and outer. Come on guys, put your names and requirements down and lets get this moving!

saw this the other day on facebook, incredible. My a55 flinched like a rabbits nose when it happened. God knows how the guy driving must have felt! Someone mentioned that it dropped off the trailer going passed in the other lane, but dunno. My question though, why was he recording in the first place? It's not a viral is it?

I wouldnt think its an MOT requirement, some mk2's came without a heated element on the rear. In additionm, the rears and rear sides are considered to be obligitary hence why vans cdont need glass windows. I was thinking of plexi glass as Im hoping to keep my car for summer and weekend use only (if I end up getting a house soon), otherwise I will be using a glass version. Are you participating in the group buy boost monkey or just lending your penny's? I've sent Mike at Performance trim a message to answer some of the new questions. I shall be putting a deposit down on pay day just after my Birthday as I think this can be classed as a present. Just not sure which to go for yet.

it's not a complete down payment, just 50%. the rest will be paid in a few months when the parts start to be produced, this should make it a little more comfortable for you and others (inc me) to cope with. I'm in the middle of buying a house, my head says no to the boot, but realistically if we don't get this going soon, it will never happen and we will all miss out. Just think about all that rust and weight you will avoid! And as a bonus, the CF looks great!! ---------- Post added at 04:23 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:22 PM ---------- it's not a complete down payment, just 50%. the rest will be paid in a few months when the parts start to be produced, this should make it a little more comfortable for you and others (inc me) to cope with. I can't comment on your questions. But Ill put them to Mike when I speak to him. With regards to the rear glass, I'm toying with the idea of plexi glass.
