  1. well its very unlikely the battery as I had plenty of charge and was connected to a van with jump leads and it wouldnt start. took about 20+cranks before it fired into life. Im fearing the worst, the engine seems very hot and the top coolant hose is pressurised more than I ever remember seeing it. could it be head gasket related? Or am I just being over paranoid. Still struggling to find someone with vag com!!
  2. Just spoke to Mike and he said he was going to pop onto here and answer questions directly, great news as it saves me going back and forth so often. Here are some questions I've picked up over the time of having this thread going: Will they be made with or without rear wiper holes? Will the raised part of the wiper hole be included? Will the rear plynth be fitted as normal (ie seperate item) or would it be integrated into the boot to effectively make one piece? How do we move this forward? Do we need to pay in full first or will a deposit be needed? Will the spoiler operate as normal? How much will they cost So we should be able to get this rolling relatively quickly.
  3. I would be interested, but £200 is far too expensive for me. Is it carpeted and in as new condition? What size sub is it tailored for?
  4. I did mine similar to this, Ive updated the instructions now too. I may be able to do this as a pre made kit for those of you who don't wish to attempt the work themselves. Depends on how popular this would be and would need the original loom as an exchange basis. £120 and £60 refunded on receipt of the original loom ??
  5. Finally got round to doing this, not had the time to look at this since buiyng the kit in May last year. Took a while to figure out the wiring but once I got past that it was a very easy mod to do. Prob' only took me 30mins. I'm submitting the instructions to the WIKI page so if you want to find out how, look there.. http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?54986-Convenience-Indicator-Comfort-Flash&p=711351#post711351
  6. VR6boy7, youve wasted my time! Will not deal with you again, MAF now sold to someone else
  7. hello?!! Let me know if you still want this or one of the uncut version I have. I went to the trouble to find it out for you and you have gone quite.
  8. just wanted something cheap and tough for the winter use. Have considered alloys. But just looking into the use of steel wheels for now.
  9. possibly, but not sure. Anyone else know?
  10. do they have the correct PCD?
  11. well, I check fuses, relays and all seem ok. I even bridged the relay terminals and still no joy and ended up without battery power to continue, so got the charger out and tried cranking with everything as normal and it started! I still dont think its the battery being flat but just incase Im going to get a new one from TPS and will hope that sorts it. The reason I dont think its the battery is that the car cranks quickly without struggle but just wont fire Changed all coilpacks just incase they were causing issues.
  12. thanks, will give updates as I go.
  13. tbh I did a quick check so cant say for certain if i have spark or fuel to engine. will be going through these things this weekend. if the relays are intermittently faulty, wouldnt this mean the engine would stop as your driving. not just when cranking?
  14. just got back form Germany and found that the relays are 167 and 80 (thought this should be 109??), PN's are 357906381A and 191906383 respectively. Both seem to klick so I now think they arent at fault. can they still click but still cause issues? Ill bridge the connections tomorrow once Im over the the travel tiredness. Anyone in/near Peterborugh able to do VAG COM? My car is now not starting. :-(
  15. excellent, we now have 10 people interested. Ill give performance trim a call once i return from Germany and see what they can do for us. I will hopefully have answers by next week. cheers guys.
  16. right, Im returning from my business trip tomorrow but wish to order the fuel pump and ecu relays new from TPS. Tried asking for relays 167 (fuel pump) and 109 (ecu) but they said that they cant find these on the new system Can anyone give me the full VW part number for these so I can get them in ready for my return? These may not be the root cause of the issue but it's worth a try, worst case Id end up replacing old tired weak parts with brand new items so would be a worth while activity.
  17. i have a set of rear indicators ideal for MOT time if your interested? going cheap as they are slightly damages but perfectly fine for MOT's
  18. Hi I know its the worn time of year, but I wish to get some spare wheels and tyres sorted out for winter or just for emergencies. Any one know of some steel wheels that would fit over the 312mm brakes on the 5 stud hubs? pref with the correct et for vr's
  19. lol, just been to a supplier who also make parts for Bentley today.
  20. I was thinking of doing the same widths. Was even tempted by 8.5" all round. Seems a bit of a black art with ET's. Will play around once Ive got the wheels built up.
  21. nice choice n the RH ZW1's. Ive got a set in the garage that I need to get round to sorting. What width you going for?
  22. ive hear similar sotrys of rados air con not being very good. but not sure if this was resolved by a simple regas or its a design fault. You sure the aur con system is kicking in and its not just the blower pushing ambient air around?
