Does anyone have a set of alloys/steel wheels with legal tyres. Need to be 5x100 pcd and either 16" or 17" due to the 312mm brakes. I'm rebuilding some split rims and they wont be ready for my MOT next week, the tyres on the car are completely gone and wont get through the test. Just need them for a couple of days, to test and hopefully pass the car, the split rims will hopefully be done soon after so can rebuild them and fit fresh rubber.

Cheers Chris Right, these split rims I have are taking forever to strip! So much so I dont think I'll have them ready for the MOT, so asked some mates at work if anyone could lend me some wheels/tyres for the test. Closest I could get were some 18x8.5"!! They fit but lots of tyre body contact while driving but not on full lock which I was surprised by. I could raise the car but I think the struts are seized and would need to re-track the geometry. Does anyone have either 16" or 17" wheels or tyres with 5x100 pcd that I can borrow for a few days? I'm getting desperate! Here are the pics of the car with 18's, look great IMO

in the 24v club ( gone but not forgotten)
quicky1980 replied to mr lobitos's topic in Members Gallery
you should be ok as I think the striker pins can be swapped over from the rado handle. if you have no luck dont bin them either as I could do with some non working ones while my current ones get repainted -

might not be able to make this now :-(, trying to get the car ready for an MOT. May not even be ready for DC11 !! Or even possibly gti inters....noooo!! -
did we move to a new server with the forum upgrade? We seem to be having a few issues recently but this may be teething probs from the upgrade and this being a stroke of bad luck. Nice work Andi! I did start to get stressy not being able to get on here, sad innit!

Got them on my current wheels, they aren't great but fine for my needs. Will look into those tyres you mentioned anyway. ---------- Post added at 09:45 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:17 PM ---------- Had a quick look at the coopers and they work out to be £100 more expensive for the set. Unfortunately I cant afford anything lavish due to have an offer on a house approved :-) so need to look after the pennies. When it comes to renewing them Ill def' consider the coopers.

Removing White ignition switch from the back of the ignition barrel?
quicky1980 replied to Peebee's topic in Interior
keep looking, there is a tiny screw in place. once undone it comes off very easily. I ended up lying upside down on my back where the floor mat is to see it. -
ordered some new rubber for the wheels, going for Falken ZE-912's as they seem pretty good and are reasonably priced. Wheel bolts arrived the other day and look pretty sweet. Did try and remove all the paint off the wheels but taking too long an need them sorted quickly for the MOT. Funny really as they've been in the garage for a year without being touched and now Im rushing around trying to get them refurbed. Also fitted a bonnet bra and modified the bonnet to take the mk4 washer jets properly (stuck them on before), now they fit pretty much OE.

r36, twin turbo and NOS. silly question really, if your asking for easiest then I'd say re-fit a new 1.8 16v or go for the 2.0 16v, if you want a little more power for little work try the 1.8t. if you want power then w8! lol Why not just rebuild your current engine? Im sure a rebuilt 1.8 16v doesnt cost muct, surely less than a different engine swap!?

see you again soon

Is it possible to take out brake servo with the engine in?
quicky1980 replied to KipVR's topic in Drivetrain
Not sure, but it might be easier if the master cylinder is removed at the same time? -
i have the sender, but not the cable.

4. use narrower tyres so they stretch more. may give you enough clearance. From the looks, the wheel sit about right. are the arches rolled?

just scrapped off an old fiesta, they gave us £120 and they collected it. Prob could have got more but we needed to get rid quickly to clear space for the new car

Can't fit rad or fans in properly wrong slam panel help help !!!!!
quicky1980 replied to malaki's topic in Engine Bay
best method is to fit the correct slam panel, otherwise you could try and cut a hole into the existing panel and fit the vr6 securing bracket to the rad some how. wont look very good though. Changing the slam panel is very easy, shouldn't cost must to have it resprayed too, you may even find one the right colour on some classifieds. -
R32 / 3.2 24v Audi conversion guide
quicky1980 replied to quicky1980's topic in [Archive] Wiki Submissions & Collaboration
Cheers guys, will get back to uploading it again Already done that, but still had a big file in word, roughly 11mb iirc, hence me using pdf to try and reduce it further. I even deleted pics that would be useful in an attempt to fix the issue. Have uploaded v2 of the guide back onto page one, I will attempt to get v3 created with the missing info but cant promise, if anyone can help it would be appreciated. -
i have this, kept it as spare but if you are desperate you can have it, what you willing to pay? You sure it's not the in tank lift pump? I have one from a golf (only used to problem solve a fueling issue so brand new). its not a direct fit but could allow for you to problem solve your issue?
-
Between 25 and 40. Threes a thread I started to find out the part number. Search for 16v lift pump. If no luck ill dig out the link. Dead easy to replace, prob only 10mins worth of work.
-
As John sais, but my guess will be the in tank fuel pump. when these go, the main pump under the car tends to get noisy and struggles to supply fuel. these are cheap enough to get and try
-
no never got to the bottom of this so ended up fitting a 3.2 v6 instead lol if you have a vacuum pipe on the back of the clocks it sounds like you have a non vr rado. check its connected to the ecu and has no leaks or splits

why have you got random shots of the civic and not more pictures of the car you actually got (red one in the background, or even the one next to it) -
Burgandy one on the outskirts of Worcester around 1pm on Saturday just gone. Tried to catch it up but traffic was too backed up.
