K48 SLW - Anyone know whereabouts/owner?
NottsCounty replied to NottsCounty's topic in General Car Chat
Anyone?? :( -
Hi Guys, Been a while since i've been on here and it seems you C owners are as enthusiastic and busy as ever!! I'm trying to locate my old car as I have just found the folder containing it's comprehensive service history and feel it only right that it should be re-united with the car. It was an Aqua Blue VR6 on the above plate. I sold it in early 2008 to a chap called Bruce from Ipswich but despite e-mailing him several times (i no longer have his number) I have had no reply. I think he's also registered on ED38 so i'll give that a try too but any pointers would be greatly appreciated! Muchos gracias Ols

Ex-corrado owners, what do you drive now?
NottsCounty replied to kebabman's topic in General Car Chat
When I sold the Corrado I was already using a MK4 Astra 1.6 8v  .......absolutely shocking car. The best thing about it was that I didn't care about it and it meant that the dog never had to go anywhere near the C. Then moved onto a CLK430 as it was given to me. Great car in a straight line but like most Mercs absolutely lethal when you turn the steering wheel. I've now got a Lexus IS220d which is purely for eating up the motorway miles. I can't wait to get back to VR6 ownership :norty: -
Why do people bother taking pics in the dark?? He may as well have taken pics of a brick wall...
-
Usually an ABS sensor.....but if it won't interface with VAGcom then replacing all 4 could be expensive and pointless.
-
It should come out with just the bolts that go through the bush. Worth replacing these at the same time. Word of advice though, offer a jack up to the beam before the bolts are out as it's not the lightest part on the car and, well you catch my drift.....

Interesting way of hunting down scum...
NottsCounty replied to NottsCounty's topic in General Car Chat
I was thinking that too. Perhaps that's the reason for his large reward - insurance company refusing to pay out as it was stolen with the keys. -

Good guide on one of the american/canadian sites and lots of info on here if you search for it. You may also wish to be a bity more thoughtful with your title.......

I'm in exactly the same boat as you my friend, looking at cars along these very lines and I must admit I was quite taken by the BMW after test driving it. Also had a go in the Audi but as said before the ride is very hard. Whilst at football yesterday morning I got a phone call from a mate telling me he can get me a 535d M Sport with 70k on the clock for £12,000!!!!! Surely some mistake......but i'll find out tonight.

My tip for changing the filter...make sure your eyes are not directly underneath when you pull the lines off...in fact make sure your eyes are nowhere near the damn thing!!!
-
Short covering.......don't you just love it!
-
There was a green Storm on eBay about 6 months ago that had 315k on the clock.
-
As coullstar said, the lenses are £31.50 a side from GSF.

Surprisingly the guy that had them delivered is in the oil industry..........

Assuming you have no issues with seized bolts etc... then you should be able to drop the rear axle in a couple of hours, maybe even less. Just give everyting a good squirt of +gas before you do, especially the hex bolts for the rear calipers. Other things to think about...maybe some new rear axle bushes, a re-furb of the rear axle and possibly a new bias valve. Re the latter, you may be forced to fit a new bias valve if the old one is rusted on.
-
I saw a white one driving through Harpenden the other night............looked a lot nicer than the pics. Shame it was white :(
-
Exhaust banging on the rear axle??

I used a really good chap down in Bushey arches (Nr Watford) but cannot remember for the life of me what his name or number was :cuckoo: It was my dad actually who found him so i'll give him a shout and let you know :D

Heater Matrix on it's way out? Pretty hard to check for, unless the front windscreen is getting steamed up??
