£23k? Mine came in at £27K! :| That's alorra dosh, although it's a kinda cool way to spend it... 8)

kevhaywire, 8) (although the pants comments deserve a :pukeleft: :| )

why do you need to replace your driveshafts? Have you managed to bend them or something? :?
-
Whitedog, yup, all of 'em should have it... Good news is that the sensor isn't expensive... 8)

yup, I get my mate to MOT my cars... I know he's an utter ba$tard about MOTs so it won't pass unless it deserves to, but I do the button pressing, put in on the brake roller and drive it while he just does the inspection bit... No-one other than me drove J-DUB after I finished her, and the same'll probably go with H-YYU once I've done her too... Although my missus may have the odd go just to keep her happy... 8)

'ello! *waves* Yup, was me... You can't get standard hubcentric spacers under 15mm thick as there's nowhere to fit the hub part of it due to the existing hub... What I did was got a local engineering shop to knock me some up which were 11mm thick which had a central hub which was the same internal diameter as a standard wheel, and the same outside diameter as the spiggot ring on my Borbet C wheels... 8)

have the passat ones got the extra leg-room option? (the extra plate underneith which allows them to go back an extra 6inches or so...) I don't think the Passat ones will sit low enough in a Corrado, and they definately won't if they HAVE got the extension option... :|

I doubt it... I'm bad enough at French, German, Japanese and English... Adding Italian in too would just confuse the hell out of me! ;) Personally, I'm impressed with anyone whose country's native language isn't English but who still posts on here with the regularity that you do... 8)

yup, that blue connector should connect to the sensor in the lower bumper grill on the drivers side... have a look under the indicator and you'll see a metal panel riveted in behind the grill, there should be a sensor in there that the connector should attach to. If it's not there you'll need a new sensor. The MFA will skip the outside temp display function completely if the sensor is either disconnected or dead. 8)

LOL = Laugh Out Loud To become a Mod, the other Mods and Andi (who owns the forum) decide that we need another mod and invite someone we think is suitable... 8) You only need to press the return key at the end of every paragraph like I've done in this post... I've not pressed return in this sentance at all and the forum software will happily make it look correct on the screen for whichever size screen you use with your computer... I think what someone was pointing out in that post was that you used no punctuation in it so it was impossible to work out where one sentance ended and the next began... ;)

kevhaywire, it's a 9mm lip... which is why you can't get hub-centric spacers under 15mm... ;) That lip takes more of the weight than the wheel bolts. I agree though that if you do put in none-hubcentric spacers that the bolts DO take all of the weight of the car which isn't a good idea.
-
next time you take a wheel off your car, have a close look as you take the bolts out... ;) Betcha you can take ALL of the bolts out of the front wheels without the wheel falling straight off... ;)The central shaft I mean is part of the hub, NOT the drive shaft and it fits inside the wheel... The only strain on the bolts is the torque from the engine turning the wheel against the resistance from the tyre/road... It was probably this extra torque from the VR6 that made VAG want to upgrade to 5stud rather than 4... 8)

got both FK and in-pro lights on my corrados and they look excellent and neither have the problem with the fog lights...
-
could also be that the pipe TO the slave cylinder has become porus... I've seen a few of these do this recently... :| It's the flexible pipe with the coiled metal bit which attaches to the slave cylinder... if the outside of the rubber bit feels oily and damp then it's time to replace it... ;)
-
Nope, the wheel bolts don't take the weight of the car, the central shaft does which is why spiggot rings are essential on aftermarket wheels...
-
Personally, I'd go for the Brembo ones... 8)

very nice and clean for it's age... 8)

dinkus, why? it's only been sat (in pieces) in their garage for the last 7 years...

yeah, they're good fun the early valvers (that's what my first one was)... Quicker than you'd think and they handle better than most other cars out there for the price too! 8)
