the door switch is a switched EARTH! Connect a permanent fused 12V to the live of the sill thingy and the earth to the door switch... that'll mean that whenever you open the door, the circuit becomes earthed and they'll light up... 8)

MKII golf seats are wider than the rear of a Corrado, so you'd need to completely re-model the rear seat to get it to fit... (fitting a Corrado rear bench to a MKII needs a small piece making up each side to fill in the gap... ;) ) The fronts WILL fit, but you'll need to be short 'cos the subframes sit MUCH higher than the Corrado ones meaning that the seat bases will be much higher too...

anubis, you could always look in The Events Diary...  ;)
-
kevhaywire, you can on a G60 'cos that's how I time mine up... :|
-
also dump the standard fan (if you're running a G60) and stick in an aftermarket one with a relay kit on it... My fan was only getting 9V when I was having temp problems on J-DUB... :| After the relays were fitted, she had a full 12V and ran a shed load cooler... 8)

I normally only ever state WHP when I mention my BHP figures as that's the only completely accurate and measurable figure a rolling road can give you... any flywheel figure has got some margin of error in it where the calculation for drag etc is measured/worked out... WHP is what the tyres actually put into the rollers so is much more accurate IMHO... Most people will give the (calculated) flywheel figures 'cos they look more impressive being bigger...

I'd help, but I don't have a VR6 so can't list what you need... :|
-
VR6 has an electrically operated MFA (no vacuum pipe connector on the back of the clocks...)
-
which engine? (not sure but I think they may be slightly different on VR6s)
-
sounds about right... you'll tend to find that it'll go in one place and then the pressure of the water belting out of it and then the shock of taking it off will open up more holes in the rust... Have you got it sorted now then? 8)

belfastfumanchu, don't forget though that there were more 'roccos and other VWs made than Corrados... comparatively, there's very few Corrados compared with any other VW... :|

V3DUB, 'lo and welcome to the Forum... Give the guys 24 hours or so, some of the guys who know about the S2 engines or the 4x4 systems and the like don't post during the day as they don't have access from work... ;) Someone'll answer later on... 8) *edit* feck, that took me a while to write my reply from opening the post.... see what I mean about work getting in the way of forum reading! ;)

The marshalling on the campsite was a joke again this year... if it continues they're gonna end up with some poor sod in a tent getting runover as some idiot Chav handbrake turns their (non VW, again )car over the tent... The showers WERE heated on the saturday, but ran out of gas on the sunday morning and so were ice cold... any colder and they would have been solid ice.... :| That's definately the last Inters I'll be going to if it remains at that site... No atmosphere as Phat says, and too bloody far to walk to get anywhere... It was nearly a mile to my car from the autojumble which was just taking the peee..... It was great to meet up with everyone I bumped into (sorry if I was a little distant Jedi, I was cold and wet at the time... ) and at least getting p*ssed up at the campsite and chatting to the duch bloke from Roma Tuning and his mates was a laugh on the Friday night... it's given me some interesting ideas for some bits that I've not seen done which may help with freeing some more power out of my 1940cc engine... ;) 8)

drove 280 miles to Inters, then 280 miles home again... Average speed on the way down: 52MPH...(Fecking M1/A14 junction!) On the way back: 72MPH...  Still haven't had to do ANY engine work to the car since I bought it other than the rad change when it split on the end tank... 8)
-
corradowales, don't think you need to change the tank or the lines, but the clocks will need to be used 'cos they've got the imobiliser bits inside 'em... I'm still working out what to do about fuel pumps though... :| Or you could do something interesting as I'm planning on doing with a set of '92 passat Diesel clocks and the circuit board out of the TDI's clocks... ;) I want J-DUB to look pretty much standard but cleaned up a little, until you either start her up, or open the bonnet... ;)

Banana Man, that'd be the same bumper I had that's now on Blue_Joe's black 'rado then... 8)

Biggerbigben - Golf sold.. another new project!
Henny replied to biggerbigben's topic in Members Gallery
hope you can get this sorted out with as little hassle/cost as possible biggerbigben, sounds like the kind of snap decision I had to make when I wrote off J-DUB... not a nice thing to have to do... :| -
oooh, saw this at Inters and the colour is beautiful! 8) looks great in real life as well as in photos... :)
-
yup, that's how it's supposed to work... thing is that it never REALLY gets that cold in the UK so the cold start injector doesn't really do anything...
-
replace the squeeze clips with jubilee clips (good ones, not ones with brass heads on the bolts ;) ) and you'll never have a problem with them again... 8) which engine do you have? I'm confused by the "fuel (thingy?) on the end of the block"... have you got a 16V?
-
the cold start injectors are known to go faulty and can flood the car causing starting problems when cold... if disconnecting it helps then cool... if not, reconnect it again as it's not your problem... 8)
-
on the right side of the inlet manifold there's a 5th injector with a blue/green electrical plug on it. Disconnect that and see if it helps...

Pulled up at a petrol station next to a rather nicely modded new Mini... driver walks back to his car as I'm filling up, wanders past, has a good look at my car, nods to me, smiles and says "nice car mate... I've always fancied one of these..." then gets in his mini and drives off... 8)
-
R&A are pretty well known and have been around for long enough that they won't just do a fast one on you... 8) Be warned though, only the Reiger one is plastic... all of the rest are fibreglass and not as strong... :|
-
chrishill, that's standard mate... all 4 of my parcel shelves look like that... (2 have bloody big hole in 'em though... )
