paddyg, automatic center punches do a fantastic impersonation of a high speed stone when applied to a windscreen... ;)
-
actually, I was thinking of giving 'em back my 1.6 MKII Pink Golf Driver and seeing if they'd notice any difference... ;)

Dixxy, yup, 16VG60 on this very forum has just done a limited group buy for these... he'll be running another one as soon as he can get some more stock... 8)

Rpmayne, have you got 2 LCDs or just one? On the clocks with 2 LCDs you simply grab the outside of the dials and PULL them straight away from the circuit board... sounds odd, but trust me, they're on pins which just slide out from the circuit board. Do all 3 and then you'll see some screws which hold the circuit onto the casing... undo them, stick a small screwdriver down the sides of the multiplug on the back of the unit and unhook the clips around the side of the circuit at the same time... sounds complicated, but once you see what I mean, it's dead simple... 8) I have no idea how you do that on a single LCD dash setup though... :|

mmm, not sure I like the idea of using a smaller oil filter... especially on an engine I've just rebuilt at rather a heavy cost... :|

I'm on my third Corrado now and I still remember every one I've driven while test driving them... 8)

soted link for you... Feck me, that's quick... the skyline I took upto 190mph was in KMPH so I didn't realise that I'd driven it that quickly... My mate and I were stunned when we worked out how fast we'd just gone... :| jedi-knight83, I was probably editing the post at the time... ;)

Kev, it was embarrassing... I've not been left for dead like that before, I soooooo need to get my act together and get J-DUB's engine swapped into my Grey G60... :| Gonna go and test drive a MKV diesel to go and work out if I can live with the engine (going to try for a weekend test drive... ;) ) Don't care about the car, just want the engine!
-
craigbeal, phone 'em and ask.... they're the only ones who can tell you... Normally Fully Comp insurance will include windscreen cover, but some companies still try and charge extra for it...

Locksville... (Struan's sorted it out...)

'lo and Welcome to The Forum... 8)

I got my arse handed to me on a plate by one of these the other day... :| I pulled out to overtake the couple of cars in front at the same time as this golf Diesel did and it just romped off into the distance... :| Not keen on the styling, but that's the engine and box I want to fit to J-DUB! 8)
-
sane, problem is it doesn't work like that... they'll see the cover and either a) set fire to the cover and your car with it or B) just steal the cover... I've left mine on the street since January 'cos my garage is full of 2 other cars that are in bits... Nothing's happened to mine as of yet... *finds a big bit of wood to touch*

'Lo to Lippy who I spotted last night in Wilmslow... Think we're gonna have to stop adding these sightings in here mate, or it's gonna get a bit silly! ;)

Midland wheel supplies sell these with a rather nice shiney finish to them too... 8) http://www.midlandwheels.com/

yup, that's the way I've been doing it for ages...

"312mm Seat Cupra Brembo brakes" Huh? What are they off then? The Ibiza ones are 305mm and the Leon ones are 325mm... :| Flywheel by RPM... anything else done by them? (great company 8) ) Looks nice mate... 8) -
handbrake turns also make these error codes crop up...

I deleted the heat exchanger as I've had bad experiences with them in the past... I can understand the theory that it helps the engine warm up, but with the engine I built, warming up quickly wasn't the problem... ;) You'll also find it becomes VERY tight for space if you use both the oil cooler takeoff plate AND the heat exchanger... you may have problems getting an oil filter in there, and getting one out again becomes a reeeeaaaalllllyyyy interesting job... :|

yup, pick up a nice straight valver with a not so happy engine for £1200 ish, pick up a full engine conversion for £1500, put the two together and get a 250bhp sports car that looks fantastic, handles well and will embarrass a lot of much newer "sports" cars.... makes sense when you look at it that way doesn't it? ;)

yeah, V-sam and K-star are basically aftermarket piggy back ECUs for the K-Jetronic system and (as flusted says) they allow you to map the timing much more than the standard system would allow you to do... The only way to put a full engine management system onto a KR engine is to use electronic injectors and a full aftermarket management system... not really worth it unless you're doing something really silly like plonking a turbo or supercharger in there... ;)

I've got a 13row on the engine I built for J-DUB and it's well upto the job... remember that the take off plate has a thermostat in it (if you're buying a decent kit anyway!) so you can't really go too big with the oil cooler as it can't overcool your oil due to the thermostat... ;)

Got both FK and Inpro rear lights on my 2 corrados... Both fitted perfectly with no problems. I simply added some male terminals onto the wires that the lights came with and plugged them into my standard wiring... no cutting or faffing about needed, and simple to swap back if I ever want to... 8) Not had a play with the angel eyes as I don't want them on my Corrados... (not quite to my taste...)

The knock sensor is bolted to the front of the block with a 13mm headed bolt with a single (it's actually Co-axial) cable coming off it leading to a green plug over by the gearbox... 8)
