    Removing Tailgate

dunno, never traced the wiring, just added more... :|
  2. WARNING! The volks bits one is the single lifter! Dunno about the bonrath one though...
  3. paddyg, on a valver? that'll almost certainly be valve guides and seals...
  4. yup, run the wires from the normal brake lights, up under the C pillar trim, under the roof cloth, through the rubber boot into the tail gate, and then down inside the metal skins of the boot lid into the bottom bit... not nice to do... Gotta do it again this weekend for a little toy on H-YYU... :| Both of 'em are thick cables too... :(

    Removing Tailgate

I'm pretty certain that there's a connector under the roofcloth/C pillar trims for the C/L and the washer jet, but I don't think there's an electrical connector anywhere near the hinges... :|
  6. there's also some wires running to the light which you'd have to run if you're thinking of doing this mod... Running cables through the tailgate to the US spec light is NOT fun.... :| It's much easier if you do a Kev style mod though... 8)
  7. it sits in a groove around the bottom of the elbow's part which sits inside the radiator... 8)
  8. Neil g60, yeah, I do agree with you... I should have clarified what I meant a bit better... I was distracted by a young lady who I'd not seen in 5 years as I was writing that reply... 8) Similar (originally priced) FWD and RWD cars which have been modified to be over 250(ish) BHP are pretty much all animals to drive... RWD tends to be better IF the car was designed to be RWD... If it's been modified to be RWD (as suggested in the post I was replying to) when it was designed to be FWD, then you're gonna run into handling problems like Ian Birch did with his orange RWD Golf MKI which just couldn't get the power down the the ground... At that point, it's primarily a weight distribution thing... 8)
  9. yup, still playing with the idea myself seeing as I'll have a spare G60 engine and 2 spare 16V engines kicking around shortly... :|
  10. quick thankyou to bigpants baby for the mint parcel shelf... well wrapped, quick delivery and is, indeed, mint! 8)
  11. Neverite, it's cheaper to go G60 -> G60 16V 'cos you've already got the charger and injection system... doesn't mean it's impossible though... Personally, I'd keep an eye out for a set of Audi S2 pistons and a turbotechnics 16V kit like Kev used to have in his golf 16Vturbo... nicely thought out kit with BAGS of power! 8)
  12. Blue_Joe, you going to the next MK meet? I'll bring my pair down and we can see if they'll fit.... They should do, as the hinges are the same on both types of bonnet, and the line along the wing/bonnet joint is the same too... I'm probably just being overly cautious about saying that "they will fit all corrados" 'cos I don't want to be the cause of anyone messing up their car... 8) chargedupstorm, I never got around to fitting mine to J-DUB 'cos of the crash... I'll be fitting 'em to H-YYU at some point soon, so will do a full "how to" then... 8) Oh, and mine are the same INXX ones too... 8)
  13. GSF and ECP both sell genuine Hella front lights for a MKII Golf for under £30 each! 8)
  14. nope... 16V injectors are mechanical, not electronic... You need to modify the inlet manifold and replace the injection system to run 'em on a valver... :|
  15. the MKII twin lifters from either ECP or GSF WILL fit the Corrado's late bonnets (not tried an early one yet) You need to CAREFULLY drill and tap a hole on both sides of the bonnet near the hinge mounting panel to mount it. The bottom ends (ball type joint) replace a pair of the wing fixing bolts. These will easily clear any strut brace as they simply sit along the top of the inner lip of the wings. Chris-vr6-nos (or similar!) talked me through doing this and has been running similar on his car for a while now... 8)
  16. yup, change the fuel filter and then go from there... could be a dead pump, clogged injector or clogged metering head if this doesn't cure it... :| time to start investigating... Odds are that the fuel filter will make it much better though... That's what it's there for afterall!
  17. RWD's not much better over 250bhp or so... you just end up spinning the rear end out on every corner which, although lots of fun, doesn't make the car any faster!

*MOD EDIT* Deleted your doubled thread and re-attached your pics so you've not lost 'em... 8) Looks good... 8)
  21. Neverite, ah bugger... typo!  (corrected now though...)
  22. Re-routing the ISV is potentially VERY dangerous for your engine... :| The reason that the ECU causes the ISV to vent (not leak, it does it purposely!) is to prevent the boost from going past the point where the fuelling/timing map in the ECU knows what to do... By removing this safety measure, you're effectively allowing the engine to overboost and therefore run lean... At high revs, running lean is gonna mean that your engine ain't gonna last long before you melt something crucial and end up with a very dead engine... :| Talk to Darren about this before you end up blowing up your engine... 8)
  23. NEW = ___---___ OLD = ---___--- ;) 8)
  24. gibber, yeah, I'm just in a funny mood... sorry...
  25. G from GTI, 6 from 1.6, 0 from 2.0 That's my bet anyway... ;)
