well, the 3.2 V6 does (ask PhatVR6 or biggerbigben) ;) IIRC the 3.6 is just the bigger brother of the 3.2-24V 8)

ABS doesn't let go on the brakes completely... It knows which wheel/s has locked and so will only pulse the brake pressure on that/those specific wheel/s. It pulses the brakes AFTER it's thought about what it needs to do... ;) ABS can affect the feel of the brakes even when it's not being used due to the fact that there's a sodding HUGE pump with lots of valves in it in-between the brake calipers and the mastercylinder/your foot. This can make the brakes seem slightly more vague than a non-ABS equipped car... especially one where the ABS is getting on a little bit... :| My '91 non-ABS G60's brakes feel much better than my '92 G60's ABS brakes did before I started playing with 'em... Can't wait to see what they're like with the MKIV rears and Brembo 4pot fronts! 8) :twisted:

yeah, sorry, just in a grumpy mood today and am fed up with people's HUGE BHP figures with no torque figures to complete the figures... especially when the BHP figure is at an almost unusable RPM range

The JBL 6x4's are quite a nice set of speakers... make sure that the magnet will fit in the rear speaker carrier though, as I'm sure I've read that they have recently enlarged 'em on their current range so they may not fit... :|

Majik's correct. The painted trim below the grill and headlamps (just above the bumper) IS part of the slam/front panel and is several hundred pounds from VW :|

there should only be one wire (the Blue/Black one) connected to the oil pressure sensor. The sensor simply allows the wire to connect to the block if there's a pressure problem which completes the circuit and alerts you to the problem... 8)

don't forget to bin the original pipe clips and replace 'em with some good quality Jubilee clips... ;)

Ooooh, it can spin to high a RPM... :roll: A top BHP figure of 274bhp @ 7200rpm equates to only 200Lb/Ft torque which ain't a lot... add another 1000rpm on it to hit 300bhp and you've got 192Lb/Ft... BHP is nothing if there's no low down torque to go with it... I know this sounds cynical, but that's 'cos I am... I'm fed up with people coming out with high BHP figures at high RPMs and no graphs to show the torque... and yes, I'm well aware who Geoff is and how respected he is and that Stealth's rolling road is one of the more accurate ones around ('cos Vince doesn't mess with the settings! 8) ) Show me some torque figures and graphs and then I'll think about being impressed and retracting some of the above... :? [/rant]

get yourself a MKII golf Haynes manual, a Thermostat and housing (+ o-ring!) and 2 bottles of G12+ and replace the thermostat... It's a little fiddly to get the hose clamps off (replace 'em with Jubilee clips afterwards!) but if you know how to use a ratchet and some spanners, you should be able to do this yourself... 8)

stick the belt back on, start it up and listen to find out where the knocking's coming from... If you're sure the charger feels OK, with no tight spots and no play (up/down, forwards/back and in/out of the charger!) in the pulley that is... Take a good look at the bottom crankshaft pulley to make sure it's not buckled, if it is it could be the crank bolt is about to let go... :|

yeah, it's only if the lights stay on once the engine's running that they're indicating a fault... 8)

to let you know they work! :lol: The oil pressure one will come on 'cos the engine has no oil pressure until you start it. The water one will come on and flash a few times to let you know the light works, and then may either go out before the car has started if the sensor is still wet, or will stay on until the sensor in the header tank becomes wet when the engine's started...

it's supposed to... When you turn on the ignition with the handbrake on you should get 3 red lights: Oil pressure warning (constantly on) Water temp/level warning (flashes a few times) Brake warning (constantly on until you remove the handbrake) As soon as you start the car, both the oil pressure and water temp lights should go out within a second or so, and then the brake warning lamp should go out when you release the handbrake... 8) Hope this helps... :)

Firstly, don't start the engine again until you've worked out what this is... :| Take out the airbox. Remove the cover off the top of the alternator which covers the pulley/belt. With a large screwdriver (or 2 ;) ) lever up the tensioner arm and remove the alternator/waterpump/supercharger belt Now turn the alternator, G60 and waterpump pulleys by hand and see if which is causing the rattle... Good luck! :|

sit in the driver's seat. Down under the dash by the door you'll see that there's a smaller under shelf. There's 2 black pins holding this in, twist 'em 90degrees and then pull 'em out. the small shelf will now pull out revealing your fusebox... On the back of the shelf there's a list of which fuses do what too... 8)

belfastfumanchu, you should have a single rear drivers side fog lamp... If you haven't then there's a problem. Standard UK spec Corrados only had the one bulb. The passenger side one doesn't have the reflector so will look slightly different when you put a bulb in, but it is as easy as pulling the blank out and plonking a bulb in... 8) FK and In-Pro rear lights have a reflector in BOTH rear units so can be used with 2 fog light bulbs without them looking different... 8)

Paint it black, then polish the flat panel which says VW DOHC 16V and then paint the letters a contrasting colour (like the same colour as your car) Looks excellent, is cheap to do and really cleans up the engine bay... Also, while it's off, do the rocker cover too... Again, paint in the contrasting colour and then polish the tops of the ridges... 8) Did this on my MKI 16V (blue hi-lights) and my first Corrado (Tornado red) and it looked excellent... 8)

sounds like a thermostat problem then... I'd lay odds that both top and bottom hoses are pretty much the same temp as the car warms up instead of one being warm and one cold until over 80 degrees... ;)
