2 relays, 2 fuses, quality connectors, the correct grade cables which are the correct lengths and nicely heat-shrink wrapped and all nicely colour coded to make sense too... 8)

Sorry guys, not spoken to her in almost 3 years, and I don't think I've got any of her in/on a Corrado... :|
-
Lippy, it's impossible to get in or out of a Corrado elegantly... My ex used to be a model and could be the most elegant looking person you could imagine until she tried to get in or out of my first Corrado when she was just too leggy to be elegant! ;)

Gavin Walsh. Send PM to H100VW asking about them, and he'll supply you with all you need to buy one from him... 8)

added in my spec too... 8)

After my recent accident, the first thought that went through my brain as we came to a halt was "thank f£$# I put the Brembos on this car..." If I'd have been running on the standard G60 brakes, we'd have hit the car that pulled out in front of me head on at around 30mph instead of managing to squeeze down the side of the car at less than 20mph! It's not just about initial bite, it's also about the continued effectiveness during heavy braking. Sure, tyre footprint is ALWAYS going to be a limiting factor, but if you get a GOOD set of brakes, then they shouldn't lock while providing better braking forces... Oh, and one of the next thoughts after seeing the skidmarks was "feck, wish I'd have fixed the ABS..."  (I locked up the rears, NOT the fronts! :| )

Sorry, AndyVR6, I'm not kidding... :| AFAIK, it's the same part on all Corrados and I think it's also used on Passats and possibly MKIII golfs too... :| I've had 2 of 'em now, one when I broke the original one getting the top hose off, and one when I changed the radiator as I decided it'd be a good idea to swap every part of the coolant system at the same time to prevent any leaks... 8)

that could be 120mm drop on a late VR6 (the ones with the 4x4 stance... ;) )

pablo_vr6, Jimbo? think you two may have gotten your wires crossed as to which bits you have/need... pablo_vr6? You're on about the metal clips which hold the glass onto the light housing, aren't you? Jimbo? You're on about the 2 black clips on the top of the housing which hold the light onto the slam panel, aren't you? Indicators are only about £19 from GPC and the front fogs are cheapest from them too... 8)

Nuts! Cheers Jim, I knew I'd forgotten something!   -
Very nice mate... 8)

have a wander over to http://www.dubforce.net there's a rather nice Aqua blue one for sale on there at the moment which I'm half thinking about, although it's down in Sussex (about 10mins from G-Werks and JMR! ;) )

Aim corrected.... ;)

you need to refill it via the top hose (disconnect from the rad and pour into the engine through the rubber pipe) to avoid airlocks... When the coolant is at the top of the top hose, connect it back onto the radiator, and then top up through the expansion tank... 8) (same method should be used on all VW engines.... 8) )

in that case it may well be worth taking the throttle body off and looking inside it to make sure that there's nothing jamming it inside... 8) Easy to do, just don't forget where the 2 pipes on the back of it go onto, as they have to go on the correct way around else the engine will run like a sack of poo... :|

GSF and Euro do though... ;) (yup, did the same myself!  )

Corrado Forum Car of the Year - Nominations
Henny replied to Shilakadaddy's topic in General Car Chat
Shilakadaddy, I've taken the poll off this thread so that people don't get confused by it, added the polls to the other threads, linked the other threads from the first post in this thread and locked this thread up... (phew... that took a while to type, did you get all that?!? ;) ) PM me (or any of the other mods) if there's any problems... 8) -
nope, but it's in the lupo wipers thread... 8)

tell him to sod off and to just order the parts from the numbers you gave him... If you've got the part numbers, they don't need the year... he's just being a jobsworth... p.s. late 2003 should do it... ;)
-
 pablo_vr6, Well, you did ask.... ;)
-
on the top of the throttle body there's a chain link type connection between the small and large butterflies which is used to open the second butterfly after a certain point. Make sure this is clean and greased up as they can jam up causing the same problem you describe... :| Mine jammed up due to a lump of gravel which had flown up inside the engine bay and got a little scarey when it wouldn't release the throttle! :pale:

I know it sounds silly, but the guys at Merc have tried all sorts of talc and say that the Brut stuff works the best?!?

just thinking... get the engine warm and turn it off... disconnect the blue and black temp senders and swap the connectors over... turn on the ignition and see if your temp gauge works again. (DON'T start the car though!) If you gauge works then, it's definately the black temp sender that's dead. If your gauge still doesn't work, it's either a wiring fault, or the gauge is damaged... Personally, I reckon you've got a loose connector on the back of the clocks 'cos the flashing light is set off by low coolant level, not by temp, so you've got 2 different sensors which are acting up, so it's more likely to be the gauge/common wiring which is at fault... ;)

A well rounded view on Top Gear?!? God, you guys really make me laugh at times.... ;)

My new engine - (progress pics)......update 16/05/05
Henny replied to Valver's topic in General Car Chat
Most will take a VW engine, but the 2 we're all on about can be found HERE 8) I've got the slightly more expensive one with 4 wheels, while the one in the pic is the slightly cheaper one with only 3 wheels... Both will do VW engines upto (and probably beyond) the VR6, but I'm pretty sure the cheaper one would struggle with either the flat 6 porsche engine or V8 I'm thinking of messing about with so I got the more expensive one... ;) 8)
