  1. Gav, I corrected your typo in the post above so that the 1H's capacity is correct (you'd put 1863cc! ) The 1H block has a very slightly larger water jacket and slightly larger oil ways. It also uses larger bolts to hold the gearbox on and (as Gav says) has larger headbolts than the PG block (they're the same as Diesel head bolts) The other major difference on the motorsport Rallye's was the oil cooler was a mocal style one and the supercharger was somewhat more ported than the less tuned units that were issued with the Rallyes (and other G60s) for street use... I have no idea what size pulley they used on the motorsport G60s, but you can bet it was small  Oh, and I'd lay odds on them using a different chip and grey injectors too! ;)

    A/F Meter

dead connection to the meter or dead lambda sensor are the first two things that spring to my mind... Does it do anything when driving?
  3. which version of the 16V have you got? if it's a 1.8 it'll be fine with LRP... 8) If it's a 2.0 then it should still be OK, but may not run properly for that tanks worth of fuel, but it should still fire up and run... :? The fuel pump is often one of the circuits disabled by an alarm/immobiliser (the other two being starter and ignition) so it could well be an alarm fault... Oh, and I deleted the other 5 copies of this thread... think your POST button may have gotten stuck! ;)
  4. depends on the chassis number IIRC... '92 was a changover year... :|
  5. Venom sells 'em... they're the M3 style ones... 8)
  6. according to the Corrado handbook, you should only get worried when the oil temp gets up to 145degrees! :| Personally, if mine gets above 120 I know that I'm either thrashing the utter hell out of it on a track, or something's not quite right... 105 is a nice operating oil temp for an engine... 8)
  7. dunno, never even seen a flat rear seat in the flesh, so I don't know about the mounting point differences... sorry... :|
  8. Dennis.be, that makes sense mate! 8) headmonkey, sounds like your car may have come with the flat back seat so won't have the mouting points for the armrest... it's not a 2.0 is it? :?
  9. you just listed my spare wheel well's contents! 8)
  10. coolrado, Vaseline rots the rubber... you need to use a non-petrol/oil based lubricant on rubber... ;) (didn't they teach you that in sex-ed?) Silicone grease or PTFE grease (white grease) lightly smeared around the seal will stop it without rotting the seal... 8)

    design 90s

have a look at scruffydubbers gallery... he's got 'em on his black Corrado (which is also for saleby the way)
  12. normal temps are around: oil between 90 and 120 water between 90 and 110 All Corrados vary slightly in their running temps... The water temp gauge is about as accurate as calling the Pope secular, so don't believe the numbers on it too much! If it goes up much more than usual, be a little concerned and check to see if there's anything obviously wrong if the oil temps have gone up too, but other than that, if it's running OK, the fan works, and it doesn't feel like it's red hot under the bonnet after a run, then don't panic... 8)
  13. I can see one of these in my near future... ;) 8) (for my parent's Seat Leon!)
  14. If it's a puncture on the front wheel, I'd use the rear wheel... and then the space saver to replace the rear wheel... 8)
  15. IF they try and write her off, one of three things will happen... 1) I won't claim on the insurance and will rebuild her myself meaning that she won't have a write off status against her and I get to keep my car 2) I'll buy her back and then buy another corrado with a dead engine but good body and swap all the parts over 8) 3) I'll buy her back and will swap all the parts into my MKI! 8) Seeing as she's insured with a £9K agreed value, I shouldn't think they'll write her off... only thing that's worrying me is that I'd not had the engineers report done for the agreed value yet as I was waiting for the re-spray before getting it done...
  16. there's a seperate left and right sidelight circuit so that the parking lights can work... If you leave the indicators on with the ignition off, it'll put the side lights on only on the side you're indicating to... 8)
  17. coolrado, yeah, wrong sodding side though... :( yeah, compared with someone else on here who's recently bent an Aqua blue 'rado, mine's only a flesh wound! ;)

    crankshaft

they're on here somewhere... do a search for "bolt AND number" and you'll find it... 8) *edit* It's at the end of the first page HERE
  19. Well, my preferred garage (the one I wanted to re-spray her later this year anyway!) took her away yesterday to do estimates and get the assessor to have a look at her... I took a couple of pics while she was on the flatbed being taken away to show the damage.... I think I actually got away rather lightly considering I had less than 150 yards to stop from 60mph when she pulled out in front of me... :| Now I'm just waiting for the verdict and prices... :| :?

GIXXERUK, Some places ALREADY make a multi DVD MP3 player.... Centurion do, and I'm pretty certain that Alpine do too... 8)

    electrical problem

could also be the earth strap from the battery to the chassis oxidising... If it's green, it's time for a new one... ;)
  22. 8) sounds like this may have cured it then craigowl! 8) 8) 8)

    crankshaft

yup, I'll echo what both of the above say... I had mine snap too, took 2 valves with it and that was at just over idle... Don't forget to threadlock the DX bolt if you use one! ;) 8)

    my fender is rusting!

Fender = Wing, Tom... but yes, Prattle IS an excellent word... 8) As coolrado, says, it's a sand it back, treat it with some rust killer, prime and repaint job... :| Depending on how badly it's bubbling/rusting, and which colour your car is, you may be able to do it yourself and get a very reasonable quality finish on it for not a lot of money... 8) Any chance of some pics so we can see how bad it is and advise from there?
  25. Drive it in the rain - your first "mod" will follow shortly afterwards. Standard Corrado windscreen wipers are crap. You'll soon be down at the dealers buying some new Lupo GTI wiper arms & blades. LOL. I probably will do that.. but having said that, they cant be as bad as my 1961 Beetle wipers  Those things are shite! They're not far behind... :? (ex '72 Beetle owner)
