    IP-BUS-> RCA

    makes life nice and easy then... 3.5mm stereo jack -> IP-BUS connector needs: Tip -> 7 Ring -> 9 Screen -> 11 Have a word with Kev about a couple of ferrite surrounds (I sent him a load of 'em a while back) to put on the mp3 player end of the cable to cut down on any noise problems... 8) As for where to get an IP-BUS connector from? try Pioneer! ;) :lol:

    IP-BUS-> RCA

    not in my sleep, but it's kinda part of what I do for a living (other than skiving and playing on here! ;) :lol: ) The digital aspect of it makes life a little more complicated... personally I'd be tempted to buy the ready made lead purely for simplicity/neatness reasons... ;) 8)
  3. yup, just tell the bloke behind the counter that you need a diode to stop you interior light from staying on in your car (so it's gotta take 12V) and they should sort you out OK... 8) You'll then need to put it into the live wire of the buzzer to stop reverse current keeping the light on... 8)

    New owner

    'ello and welcome to The Forum... 8) Get some pics of the Storm up so we can all have a good look... 8) Squeezing more ponies out of a VR ain't exactly the cheapest of hobbies, but things like a Shrick inlet manifold or bolting on a supercharger can make for some nice increases in power... 8)
  5. They're an absolute doddle to fit as long as your wheels will go over 'em... 8) (hence my 11mm spacers... ;) ) Did both sides on my '92 G60 Corrado in about an hour, including bleeding it up and fitting the new braided hoses... 8)
  6. stoppit Kev, you're giving me silly ideas about my MKI again now that I've decided to sell it... :| :twisted:

    for Looms see Gavin... 8) Send a PM to H100VW He'll probably appear in this thread in a moment.... I swear he's got an active filter for the word "loom" on the forums! ;) Loom, Loom, Loom ;) :lol:

    IP-BUS-> RCA

    wozza "IP-BUS" plug for? Make, model, age? Get me a pic/diagram and I'll make you a lead (or at least a circuit diagram.... ;) ) 8)
  9. I'd guess at seriously frustrating.... Bedding in chargers is sooooo annoying 'cos you know it's gonna be good, but you can't use the full potential until it's bedded in again... ;) :roll: :| Looking good as always though Dan... good photos of the charger work too... 8)
  10. wow! I'd not seen a photo of the DBR9 before... 8) 8) 8) Talk about drop-dead-gorgeous looks... 8) 8) 8)
  11. nice flaking paint on the handbrake surround there... quality job.... :| :roll:

    Charging a 16v

    If all of the correct parts were to be collected together before the project commences, then there is no reason that this conversion couldn't be done at home by yourself over the course of a week or so of evenings and weekends... the re-rebuild I'm in the middle of at the moment will involve just about as much work as this conversion if you already have all of the correct pieces of the puzzle to put together... ;) 8) The cost of John's is slightly over the top as he's done all of the development on his own car so you can imagine the amount he's pumped into it to get it right... :| Having been out in his car though, I must say it only made me want one more than just seeing it did! :D 8) It's pretty damned awesome... :) Have a word with John to see what kind of price he could do you on a kit for your engine... :)

    Lots of questions...

    ;) :lol: Welcome to the forum by the way... 8)
  14. Actually Matt, 6x9s are pretty much the biggest, nastiest cheapest, compromise of a speaker design out there... You'd get a much clearer, cleaner and louder sound out of a set of 6" components (mid and tweeter) with a decent set of crossovers and a decent sub and matched box in the boot... 6x9s have only become seriously popular 'cos they are reasonably cheap and due to their shape give a halfway decent bass response as well as a halfway decent mid-end too which, when added to their built in tweeter, gives a halfway decent full range (ish) speaker... It's the cheap and nasty compromise, instead of doing it properly with individual matched components .... Have a close look at any manufacturer's professional install and show me the 6x9s in their car... ;) Jim, next time we meet up, I'll have a quick look at it for ya... odds are it's something simple on it if the lights are on but you have no noise coming out of it... 8)
  15. you need a diode on the live wire of the buzzer... when the headlamps are off, it's allowing the interior lamp to earth through the buzzer and so stay turned on... ;)

    MK4 golf brakes?

    ah, ok, it just doesn't read that way... 8)

    dinkus, I was on about the disks mate... :roll:

    MK4 golf brakes?

    nope.... AFAIK they're the same, except they are a couple of mm thinner on the MKIV... :|
  19. spoooooookkkkiieeee.... ;) :lol:

    Charging a 16v

    turbo-ing a 16V is more common than trying to sling a supercharger on it... Turbotechnics used to supply a kit to do such and Kevhaywire had one of these in a MKII Golf... If you really wanna sling a G60 onto a 16V, have a word with 16VG60 (John Mitchell... can you guess what he drives? ;) ) or Aposegil (Alex, who's in the process -still ;) - of G60'ing his 2.1 16V engine...) It's a lot of work, but yields some pretty impressive results... 8)
  21. Nah, just actually doing some work today... ;) Blimey, you feeling alright? :lol: Actually, no, I'm not... I hate actually having to deal with working... ;) :lol:

    MK4 golf brakes?

    yes it will fit and needs exactly the same parts as for any other Corrado as they all share the same rear calipers/pads, it's just the disk which differs but that's not altered by the MKIV conversion... 8)
  23. Nah, just actually doing some work today... ;) Good to hear... 8)
