Chris_VR6nos  yeah, it could have been meant like that I suppose... ;) morpheus20170 If you can afford the difference (not always that much actually) get components for the front... you'll tell the difference as the staging is MUCH better, and the response from a set of components (as Chris pointed out) is much superior than from a single full range speaker... :) I've got JBL speakers all around in my corrado (and an Infinity Basslink in the post to go into the boot! ) Standard sizes (6x4 in the rear, 5.25 in the door and tweeters in the dash) the sound stage is lovely, and the sound quality is very good... 8) They didn't cost the earth either... 8) Try http://www.cel-direct.com/ or http://caraudiosecurity.com I got my JBLs from CEL, and my Basslink from caraudiosecurity... 8) Hope this helps... 8)

component = 2 or more parts... (Seperate tweeter and woofer) Full range = all in one part. (tweeter is part of the single cone, or mounted into the same housing as the woofer)

quickly!  sorry, you did ask...

yup... I'll be there... Unfortunately my G60 won't be ready (like that's a shock to anyone who knows me..  ) But I'll be there with Dubwhizz and his Nile Green Oettinger Golf G60... 8) I'll be the dark haired bloke in the white T-shirt with "badger badger badger badger" on the front...

just had a look through that link... Seems a bit of a waste of time that one... 1psi?!? hummm... :| The one I saw was a bit more powerful than that one (also a shed load bigger!) and worked through the whole rev-range like a charger should (not just at WOT  ) Basically just a big electric air pump/compressor running off a signal from the coil to make it's speed increase with revs... 8) Don't get me wrong, I've no doubt that 1psi at WOT will make a difference... but so will a cam, which'll probably make more difference and cost less!

Yup, Citroen... 8) Corrado Provera is his name.... 8)

yeah, I've heard of them, but never actually seen one... :? From what I read of them, they need a SHED load of electrical current to get 'em to work properly which adds sooooooo much extra load to the alternator that you may as well just stick a belt driven supercharger on instead...

Nope, I paid £30 for the 50mm spoiler from GPC.... ...and then sold it to Woody for a loss 'cos I bought an RS front bumper instead...

Engine mounts: Genuine VAG ones are good, Vibratechnics are rated by many here as much better... 8) Brakes: on a 1.8 16V you can go up to G60 brakes pretty easily, or there's a willwood conversion or the 305mm Brembo 4pot conversion for about £450... 8) Shocks and springs: coilovers are supposedly the best, there's loads of other options though... H&R and koni shocks are supposed to be a good combination... Headlamp wiring upgrade: YES! Do this NOW!  Engine mods: there's a few things you can do to the KR lump to get more out of it, but a lot of them are quite costly... A lot of the people here will say to get a 2L bottom end for it... Use the search up at the top of the page, and you'll find LOADS on this... 8) Welcome to the forum... Keep us updated, sounds like you've a few interesting ideas for you 'rado... 8)

Actually, the full quote was something along the lines of: "one only has to look to nature for the best shape" and then he drew a teardrop... (Hitler was actually quite a good artist) The name Beetle came after the Allied forces took over the factory, before the point it was known as the KDF Wagen (Kraft Durch Freude = STRENGTH THROUGH JOY CAR)... The original VW roundel also was a Cog not just a round circle. Once the Allied forces took over, the VolksWagen (People's car) was deemed to be a good way to get about so production was re-started, but no-one wanted to take charge of it, so it was given back to the new German government... I'm happy to say that I've never opened a gearbox... and I intend to keep it that way! ;) Taking most things apart is the easy bit.. trying to remember where it all went is the bit I tend to have problems with... ;) That's why I've started using my digi-cam on most of the jobs I do, so I can see what it's supposed to look like as I put it back together! ;)

  It's only funny 'cos it's true...

Lupo GTI wipers are THE thing to fit... 8) Link to the thread here but you may just want to skip to the last page (12 pages of that topic!) here There's also a search button up at the top of the page that's really rather useful! ;) 8)

I'm pretty sure Kev's doing this all on his own! ;) I've already started to do this with the jobs I'm doing these days... I just need to publish them!

I know that the 1st and 2nd ratios on all 2wd VR6 boxes are the same... I'm pretty sure that the rest of the gear ratios are also the same, but the final drive ratios may be different on the 2.9 boxes... 8) (just bought a 2.8VR box to put the 1st and 2nd gears into my G60 box, so I've learnt a lot about VR 1st and 2nd gears! ;)  )
