Well, I fitted 'em... The rain let off for 10 minutes and the sun came out so I went for it! 8) Wotcha reckon? :)
-
The way I've always set 'em is to measure how far the valve is moved when there's no weight in the car... Lower the car and take it around the block so the suspension levels out a bit, then put the car on ramps (or over a pit) so the weight is always on the wheels and reset the valve back the same measurement it was on before it was lowered... The way to work out how to measure it is while it's on the ramps, get someone else to get into the boot while you watch for which way the valve moves... 8)

that'll be house of kolor paint then it take it 8) Could be worse, could be the TVR gold fleck pearl colour... WELL OVER £1000 per litre! That's what you pay for sticking 24carat gold flecks in your paint!
-
Yup, Got them on my G60 'rado and am well happy with 'em... 8) Around £400 for the FULL kit (It's still worth buying new topmounts though!)
-
Hi Andy! I didn't realise I was getting that off you!  Bargain though! I'm gonna LED it just to see if it'll work properly that way... 8) I'll post pics.
-
G60's definately got one too... I''ve still got the scar on my wrist where it fought back as I was trying to free it off when it seized up...
-
AFAIK the site is on it's way  8)

Cool, Cheers Gav... 8)

It's not the BHP that it's designed to change, it's meant to change the profile of the torque curve, the thinner one giving more low down, and the wider one more up top torque... (pretty much mirrors what Gav says above!) If it's a 1.8 original 16V, then it's a KR lump... 8)

Having just looked on the tracker site and compared it to the roadeye, there's not a lot of difference in price when you get the spec's about the same... (works out similar price to Tracker monitor option with the pay once, not yearly option and installation fees) Oh, and with the Roadeye, the car calls YOU, not a call center... It's you that's in control of the situation, not the company, so there's no on-going charges except for topping up your vodafone sim card once in a while... 8) I'll give 'em a call this afternoon to see if they'd do a group buy/forum discount... 8)
-
ABS G60s do, dunno about the rest of 'em, but I can't see why not... 8)
-
you'll need the gasket between the head and the lower manifold, the gasket between the upper and lower manifold halves, and the gasket between the throttle body and the manifold if you're gonna do it right... 8) Other than that, it's pretty easy to do, and it is a straight swap. 8)

Harry, I just read in another thread that you've not adjusted the brake load bias valve and your car is -120mm! That'll be part of the reason why your rear brakes are shot then.... :|
-
OK, so I messed up BIG time with the price... The website has them listed as £699 for the standard service, and £799 for the professional service version! Sorry if I got anyone's hopes up... I'm still gonna see if they'll do a group buy though...
-
Dunno, still waiting for a reply from them with a price, but I think it's around £350... I'm considering setting up a group buy for 'em as well if I can sweet talk them into giving us a nice discount! I'll post up the reply when I get it... 8) *edited 'cos I got the price soooooo wrong....

I'm pretty certain that this cap is just a blank for a buzzer on some models... It is for the oil pressure warning. VAG-COM will talk to G60s (although in a VERY limited fashion  ) VR6s and AFAIK 2.0 8V and 16V Corrados. The 1.8 16V (KR) engine doesn't have an ECU as such and so talking to it would be pretty useless!

Welcome to the forum... 8) Has your speedo set (the complete cluster of rev counter, fuel, temp and speedo) got 1 LCD and mechanical mile counters, or 2 LCDs? This makes a lot of difference in what the fault could be. 8) We don't have the auto-seatbelts in the UK/Europe, they were only fitted to the trans-atlantic bound cars... There are a few here from your side of the Atlantic who may be able to shed some light on this problem, and there are a couple of SLC owners who may know as well... I guess you're gonna have a bit of a wait for the solution to that one though... :? One thing you may want to check is for a blown fuse ABOVE the fusebox... There are a couple of mounting points that VW used for accessories on the top of the fuse box and one of these may well be a fuse for the auto-belts... It's worth a check anyway. 8) Good luck!

The forum's programming removes double spaces and the like... It's a bit of a sod like that.... Never try to post any ASCII art, it just doesn't work! -
yeah, go for it, make one in Tuning and mods and I'll sticky it for you... 8)
-
Oooh, Sunscreem, you don't get many people playing that any more... Cracking album, and mental to drive to! 8) Nice mix you've got in there at the moment... 8)

If you're ripping CDs to MP3, try CDEX... It's shareware and it's fantastic! 8) http://www.cdex.n3.net/ For the burning, use Nero 6 (which has the added advantage of being able to burn DVDs as well if you get a DVDRW! )
-
Nope, they also do a 1.8 V6... :? very revvy, reasonably quick acceleration, but tops out at about 120mph! :? The 1.8 engines also suffer badly from wear from what I've heard...

Just got a PM from Viper99... May help clear this up a bit... 8)

Hey, don't get me wrong, I've bought this same conversion for mine! 8) At the moment it's easily the best brake conversion for the money, and when the Ibiza boys start wearing down their disks and want some other upgrades, we'll be well on for some more upgrades too!  If I hadn't of already bought 'em I'd be in on this group buy in a flash! 8)

If it's an import, there's 2 different spec's for the FTO 2.0 V6... The normal spec is 197, the limited spec one (like my friend has just bought) is around 208bhp, revs to nearly 9K, 0-60 in around 5.8 and top end of 148... :? I've not had a play in her car yet (I'll wait until the weather's a bit better! ) but it's VERY quick! The difference is to do with the weight and slight fettling with the engine... there's absolutely NO sound proofing in the limited version... :? I was seriously looking at getting one of these before I bought my G60 as I've always liked them, but I still think the 'rado wins on looks, and if you think 'rado parts are expensive, think again!
