*checks bank balance* *realises there's enough in there after recent house sale* *panics* *logs off quickly to stop accidental purchase* -

mattosmond, yup, most of 'em'll fit, but they'll sit MUCH higher up as the bases are taller than the Corrado ones...
-
If the fog lamp and heated rear window switches are still illuminating, it's not the dimmer or light switch... ;) More likely a dodgy connection onto the back of the clocks...
-
Non-bio... remove it from the car and stick in a load of washing powder and then fill full of warm/medium hot water... allow to soak... shake it around a bit to make sure the water and non-bio get into the intercooler's nooks and crannies (always liked that phrase! ) then pour out the mixture and flush through with a lot of clean water. Allow to dry (I actually hooked up a heat gun/hairdrier on steroids to the inlet and left the outlet to vent to air to dry mine! ) and refit once it's completly dry internally...

Not entirely true... but I'd say it'd definately worth getting it inspected...

change the main earth strap from the battery... it's the one with the battery clamp attached to it which then goes to the chassis and on to the gearbox mount. That'll normally sort it out... ;) (it has on all 3 of the corrados I've owned...)

does your speedo still work OK?

yup, another vote for genuine VAG over pattern parts for suspension parts...

2.0 16V doesn't have the vacuum hose to the clocks. It's done from the ECU knowing how much fuel goes through the injectors... not entirely sure what other signals the ECU uses to tell the clocks what to display, but it's probably a VERY good start to check all of the vacuum hoses in the engine bay to ensure you've not got a vacuum leak there... Blue/white wire is the speed sensor wire for the spoiler mechanism control unit, so it's either your control relay, or an old bit of car stereo wiring for an active volume control stereo...

I'll be going to my lockup tonight, so I'll post some pics up tomorrow... Keep an eye on the for sale section, as that's where they'll be... ;)

you haven't gone and done a swap with MJ have you? (or just bought a porsche like MJs?) Sad to see it go Jay... Definately one of my favourite 'rados... Hope the new owner: 1) makes it their own without spoiling it 2) takes it to another level and plenty of shows 3) makes themselves known on here and joins in with this here forum! 8) -
 woah, you didn't hang about with modding it did you? :notworthy: 8) Get some pics up... will be interesting to see this rapid transformation... 8)

Not the best morning.....UPDATED 07/09/06 (TWICE!!)
Henny replied to BigTartanJudge's topic in General Car Chat
Jim, I've JUST (this week) got the letter through from my previous insurance company which clears me of everything from my accident in October '04... If you (or a third party) dispute a claim (on any grounds you feel like) the claim can be held up for a serious amount of time... The only reason that mine didn't go into the realms of getting REALLY silly is due to the fact that I proved that the third party lied on her claim form by providing photos which conclusively showed her to be a lying cow! ;) BTJ, I've nothing else to add as you seem to have pursued all the avenues that I could suggest... Good luck... 8) -
*keeps very quiet about the Borbet C mountain in his lockup... * I've always liked those Azev As though... but they aren't exactly light are they? :|

341 miles on one VR6 tank of fuel, can 360 be done surely not
Henny replied to willg95vr6's topic in General Car Chat
I can just about scrape 250 miles outta my G60 from a full tank... :( *wishes that his G60 had a larger tank and averaged slightly over the 28mpg she's now getting...* -
Vince is on holiday at the moment, possible the guys just started late today? I know Steve (Supercharged) had his TDI booked in for today...

if you're going to do the head properly, it's gonna cost you a damn site more than £500 by the time you've added in new bolts, gaskets, water flanges, oil, coolant etc etc etc etc.... The two modded heads I've had have both cost more than £500 on their own. The one that Billinjah now has for his car cost me around £500 exchange and the one on my car now I don't want to put into print what it cost me!  (Bill, I'll dig out the receipt for that head and send it down to you next time I get to my storage unit... 8) )

eh? not sure what you're trying to ask here about which engine?
-
erm, common point of failure on ALL VWs of this era is the ignition switch... £25 from VAG... worth a shot anyway... ;)

bcstudent, is right, the original fan has 2 inputs for 12V. It then adds in the extra resistance to one of the terminals to make the fan slower. The car wiring doesn't do anything other than provide switched 12V at 2 different temperatures. 8) The best way to do what you want to do (and the way I've run my aftermarket fan for the last 2 years) is to wire BOTH the low speed and hi speed +12V to the positive of the fan and the earth straight back to the battery. This way, if your fan switch ever fails on the low speed side, you'll not totally cook your engine as it'll kick in on the higher setting. It also means that the fan-run-on will still work (it's done via the low speed wiring).
