all G60 superchargers are interchangable... Some are newer and slightly better design inside, but they'll fit on any car designed for a G60....

blown oil seal by the sound of it... get it seen to ASAP!!! If you get it over to G-werks, they'll give it a health check and will advise what needs doing so it may not end up being a full rebuild... ;)

I can do you a good deal on a VDO Volts gauge, VDO oil pressure gauge, VDO oil temp gauge, VDO oil temp sensor (with T-piece) and VDO oil pressure gauge (inc switch) if you're interested... I have 3 complete sets for sale... I'm looking for £80 for the complete set of 3 for the later style ones, and £60 for the earlier ones The gauges are all second hand (out of various audis), but the senders and T pieces are brand new... If you're interested, I'll get some photos tonight and post 'em up tomorrow... 8)

GSF sell 'em for around 60 to 80 quid. it's held in with two bolts, but needs the engine supporting on a jack as the two bolts also hold the front engine mount on... Disconnect the battery. Disconnect the thin wire from the starter Undo the 13mm nut and remove the other wires from the starter. Support the engine on a jack so that the jack just starts to lift the engine Undo the 2 big (17mm IIRC) bolts which hold the starter motor on Remove the starter motor Refitting is the reversal of the above... 8) Should take about 30 minutes if things come undone OK, if not expect a good hour!

Yesterday: Drove to Santa pod - Washed car - Took car down drag strip and realised it really was running like a sack of $#!t (although still managed 6.86 0-60mph and 15.8 1/4mile@87mph) so sat around for a bit then drove home stopping off to take a load of photos of her in nice places... 8) All in all a nice day out in my G60... 8)

anyone else remember the old roofless orange beetle that used to do most of the shows? "2 litres of orange squash"?
-
double-6s, how about describing it as "an opportunity for upgrade"? ;)
-
nah, just blat the throttle just before you get to a cattle grid/level crossing... you only get 2 jolts then, one as you take off, and one when you land... ;)

Standard G60 Intercooler - how the hell does it come out?
Henny replied to yellowg60's topic in Engine Bay
Yup, I did mention that before too! Keep on going at it, and don't loose your temper (or you'll end up loosing skin on your knuckles!) you'll get there... 8) -
Why can't manufacturers put there concepts into production..
Henny replied to Andy665's topic in General Car Chat
*wonders how long it'd look like that driving down the road before something fell off it...* -
been considering getting one as a cheap work commute hack... you can pick 'em up silly cheap at the moment and it's gotta be more fuel efficient than my G60!

 Yup, they're a little ####er to get out! From memory, there's 2 bolts RIGHT UP at the top of the intercooler which hold it in place as well as the 2 you can see at the bottom... From memory, you also have to undo the front bumper and move it forwards slightly to get access to the 2 upper bolts... -
also change the ignition switch and check the fuel pump relay... Are you sure your immobiliser is OK? Could be that?

1.8 16Vs don't have a knock sensor... they just let you know that they're running lean by the loud PINKING noise! Change the fuel filter and see about getting the injectors cleaned and see if that sorts out your loaded 3K noise. Change the cam chain - it's reasonably easy to do, just triple check (and then check again!) that the cams are timed up properly afterwards! They're not expensive, but you will need a rocker cover gasket as well... That should sort your 4K rattle too...

think that Matt (Dubwhizz) now has a set of these on his MKII Golf G60 Oettinger... Look OK on a Golf, but I don't think they'd suit a 'rado... :|

I keep one of those silicone wiper thingys you use for drying your car off in my boot so I can clear the rear window before I drive off if it's wet... During driving, the rear window doesn't tend to get wet anyway, so it's not a problem... 8)

rust was attempting to break up the long panel on mine which is why it's now been welded/plated and de-badged! I may stick on the Corrado badge again sometime in the future with bodytape instead of the 3 pins, depends on my mood I think... 8)

 You didn't waste much time there Daz... If you're after an upgrade and are into throwing your car around corners, the Shrick sump is WELL worth the money to protect your engine... 8) (got one on mine and it's a lovely bit of kit... 8) ) Otherwise, replacements from GSF/ Eurocarparts are only £20ish and the sump gasket is about £10 (don't get the cork one, get the rubber/metal one from Eurocarparts... ;) )

snap... no badges, no wiper, but I left the seams alone 'cos I like the way they break up the rear panel a little...
-
anywho, on topic... sounds like there's nothing wrong with the motor if it will go up, could well just be that the mechanism needs a good clean and lube up, or that there's a dodgy switch inside the mechanism...

Looks nice and straight... I've always been a sucker for a nice Aqua Blue G60... 8)
