The hanger is the one below the short straight section of pipe on the left of the pic

Essentially yes but you need the S shaped bit thats on the cockpit end of the cable. The VW one will be the whole thing long with the clip that holds it onto the leaver...as far as i know this is the only way now as you can't buy the seperate bits.
-
Did you hear that from page 1 of this thread?
-
I hoping to make a batch of these....we shall see
-
No but i will be very soon!!

The inlet cam is a direct swap for the inlet cam on yours Any 1.8 16v corrado or Mk2 golf'll do you It's probably worth replacing the chain that joins the 2 cams together and while you're at it you could change the cam belt and tensioner They seem to pop up semi-frequently on here and Edition38 forums, you should pay around the £25 - £30 mark to get one and have it delivered. A Garage like Stealth racing will charge about £150 for this job. To do it yourself you'll need to remove all the inlet system, crank the engine round using the bolt on the crankshaft until its at TDC then remove the cam cover, mark up the distributor, slacken cam belt tensioner remove top caps from cams..... lift out and swap in the KR cam & new chain, replace all other bits and start to set the engine timing again. Basic and i've probably forgotton bits....but gives you an idea

OK i've spoken with them again! Basically she said up until now they haven't sold these seperately but they would do. The price she quoted was £30 for the mount and £9.40 for delivery! I'm not willing to pay that so i said that i'd call back if i wanted to take this any further. Guess i'll just attempt to butcher the standard one!
-
If it comes to anywhere near that i'll certainly be getting my welder out!
-
OK! getting nowhere slowly here! The lady i need to talk to (Louise) is away but i've spoke to the first lady that i chatted with last week (Lisa). Again she said that she would need to get back to me, but in the mean time to call Road Runner, this is the company that actually supplies Magnex UK. Basically the person at RR wasn't able to help as 'They don't get into selling individual component parts'.... http://www.roadrunnermotorsport.co.uk for reference.... Think i might have get out the welder!
-
Well to be fair they did call me back, the person i needed to speak to was on hols.....she called me on monday....possibly friday and said she'd call me back with the info...no call yet, will call her tomorrow
-
:suprised: balls to that then.....i'll still phone them back tomorrow though
-
Same problem here, i called them a couple of days ago and the woman said she'd call me back...i call them tomorrow and let you know the outcome!
-
Not a VR one though
-
All bonnet catched should be in the same place, trust me i had the same problem when i was looking for a slam panel.....have a look through the members gallary to see the various types.
-
Yeah, they're different.....The VR has a different rad cover and fixing arrangement....soooo you'll have to get one from another VR
-
Yeah, that would be ideal...
-
Don't get normal jubilee clamps, they don't provide the same pressure all around the pipe....those spring clams that are on there as standard are ideal but do get weaker the more you undo them......i think you may be able to buy use specific jubilees but no idea where from.

Engine block water outlets & seals? New expansion tank and cap? New Temp sensors to replace while system is empty?
-
Yeah, I'm sure it is as when I got a replacement gasket for mine I chose the one for what i thought was my car, not nociting the number change for the one that i actually needed.
-
Indeed, there are some great paint strippers out there or if you've got some sort of access to sand blasting that should do the job too...

Buying a new exhaust for a 'rado new from VW is serious money, there are pattern parts available but these are generally cheese and could well work out to be false economy. Stainless exhausts frequently come up on Edition 38 forums as well as on here often going for prices around £200 which'll still be cheeper than a new centre box from VW.
-
I think you'll be safe with yours Jim, there is a different gasket for the very very late valvers so i'd recon that'd mean a different cover for those.

I've got 15" BMW wheels on my can and the fit no problems....being slightly wider they give the car a nice looking stance.
