give their parts people a call, they're usually quite helpful. i bought a 25ft roll of alloy (copper and zinc i think?) pipe for about £10 from a local car parts place. harder than copper and much better wearing than either the copper of the original stuff.... it'll last for years, probably longer than the car.
-
fittings wise I believe they are but they have been designed for a lighter car.... possibly worth a try though just be prepared to have to take them off again when you find the ride and handling is cack
-
Full rods for a vr from the dealers are currently £63.61 +VAT per side. With a discount or a TPS account you should be able to get them down to £41.35 each Just the rod ends are £24.85 a side +VAT or £16.15 with discount

Cleared and scanned, just the rear near side sensor fault now.

VCDS-Lite is the updated version of 4.09 so it should be fine.... i know a few codes are incorrect for example the aircon one on my golf. i'll give it a clear and scan it again after a drive

Hey, my ABS light has been flicking on and off for a little while now since changing my rear brakes. I managed to scan it with vag-com today and it gave me this VCDS-Lite Version: Release 1.0 Saturday, 17 July 2010, 10:58:18:0 Control Module Part Number: 1H0 907 379 D Component and/or Version: ABS TEVES 04 Software Coding: Work Shop Code: 3 Faults Found: 00290 - ABS Wheel Speed Sensor; Rear Left (G46) 35-00 - - 00293 - Multi-function Switch (F125) 16-00 - Signal Outside Specifications 00296 - Kick-Down Switch (F8) 04-00 - Mechanical Malfunction The first is fairly self explanatory but I don't know about the other two. any assistance would be much appreciated Thanks

1. remove boot carpet screwed down plate 2. remove large locking ring around the existing pump assembly 3. cut the crimps holding on the fuel lines 4. remove lines (there isn't really any pressure there from my experiance) 5. remove loom plug 6. withdraw assembly 7. with some careful twisting conjiggering remove the existing lift pump (i think i was able to slide the climp clip off it a bit) 8. swap the strainer and carefully conjigger the new one back on 9. replace back into the tank you'll possibly need a new locking ring as you might wreck it when trying to remove it (only a few ££ from VW, put it back on with some grease) and you'll definately need some small jubilee clips for the hoses.

i didn't bother with the seal in the eezibleed bottle as it kept leaking, as soon as i removed it it sealed up no worries.... so long as you dont overtighten the cylinder cap the kit should go fo ages. Although it is actually a recommedation in the eezibleed manual to pump the pedal a few times
-
humm dunno then. interesting about what you say with the eezibleed as that's what i did mine with and had no issues at all.... how do you mean it was sucking air back up? just keep the fluid in the bottle up and have no air leaks and it's the perfect basic 1 man bleed kit.
-
If you get air into the ABS system it can be a right nightmare to clear it out, i'd say drive it for a little while so long as it's not dangerous then re-bleed all 4 corners and the master. what are you using to bleed the system?
-
sounds like you've still got air in there. I've just fitted the mk 4 rears on mine and the pedal travel/feel is exactly the same. You'll need to bleed the mk4s twice as they need to be operated a few times to adjust out the piston. the first time i did the bleed i forgot the master cylinder and the pedal travel was to the floor, i bled the rears again and the master cylinder and all was fine.

http://www.vwspares.co.uk/corrado_brakes.php not genuine but should be reasonable quality

You'll have 1 solid line going from the compensator to a flexi hose that goes over the axle then another solid line going from that to the calliper. I've literally just replaced this so if i can be of any help let me know I can get you a picture & length of the flexi to calliper one if you like, not on the car though
