Hurrah! OUX is me. She's actually Classic Green although I think the fact that she's very overdue for a wash contributed to her looking Dragon. Taking it you weren't in a 'rado or am I just going blind?!
-
And I spotted the same one (I would guess), on St. Peter's Drive later that day. Turned round behind us at the top of Primrose Crescent. Was in the missus' car.
-
Yes, that was us and we probably went a tiny bit O.T.T. but it's the first good shout of a spot in the new VR, dirt, dents and all. Well chuffed! The G60 looked lovely.

Red J reg 'rado, parked by the Bed place that's the former Fox Jaguar dealership, on the St. Martin's Gate roundabout on City Walls Road in Worcester today, about lunchtimeish.

Very DEFINITELY not the Stig, for all the quality reasons outlined above. The various individuals who've been the Stig have been previously outed by the press, hence tonight's gag about "revealing" him when clearly it's only been Schumacher for the Ferrari one. The whole point of the Stig is that he's a cult character in his own right, as a weird non-human entity in racing gear, with a testis for an eye and who sucks the moisture out of ducks. That's the genius of it: the origin of the name is in Clarkson's school background, where the "Stig" was always the new boy, based on the novel Stig of the Dump. Outing the Stig as so many circulation obsessed newspapers have been doing is just proof of how enduring the mystery of the character is; it's as pointless as trying to prove that Father Christmas doesn't exist. Good on the Top Gear boys for pulling a timely and humorous stunt to put down all the speculation and ensure the continuity of the legend. Here endeth the pompous, English teacher rant!

Definitely! When contemplating whether to replace a dead Corrado with another one, I thought of how many other cars can elicit that response of "Wow" without the attendant jealousy of "But owning one makes you a prick". Not that many - the chufties are genuine and warm with the Corrado and to be treasured.
-
Gorgeous looking interior and exterior: seem to be an awful lot of very fine looking Flash Reds out there at the moment and this is every bit as good.
-
And furthermore, this is now thread-hijacking, so better put a holt to it. :tumbleweed: One for the English teachers/nature enthusiasts/both there... :|

Mmmmm more otter! :thumbleft: Otters are the way forward.... They're otterly fantastic...[gets coat].

Vaughan, I don't think it's too generous at all. Concourse examples are drool worthy and I have nothing but admiration for the folks who indulge their passion and keep them that way but I've always liked a balance between a Corrado which looks superb and yet which clearly is used regularly, which is why I've always liked yours. After all, they're gorgeous cars and need to be seen out on the roads as well as at shows. The new VR should come up nicely, it had its first wash and Meguiars three step with me today which has helped, though it still needs a date with a bodyshop soon. It's definitely a great base to work from and thanks for the kind words. I look forward to future meets and seeing the progress of yours and I'd love to tell you why my bottom end melted but I've no idea! Serviced just the week before, previously part built by Stealth, driven as it should be but far from thrashed. One of life's mysteries but maybe one that the Dynamic Duo at DG will fathom out... Cheers for now, until the next meet.

Swompy's Ice grey violet. Now gone to a new home

Underneath it's a gem but it needs work... ...watch this space! -
Had always thought this was my favourite Storm on the forum, no disrespect to the other VERY fine examples. It's always been something of an inspiration for how a Classic Green VR SHOULD look and whilst the last one had pretty much got there, my enthusiasm for making the new one as good as it can be was given a massive top up. Lovely car and I look forward to seeing it at future meets.
-
I wondered if anyone would post this...just surprised it wasn't me! Had forgotten what a blast it is to be in a convoy, the looks on passing drivers' faces are superb. Being the (currently slightly dinged) filling in a three tier Classic Green sandwich was superb, although all it's done is renew my enthusiasm for getting the new VR looking as nice as the old one/at least half as minty as Vaughan's and Dave's. Oh, and Dave managed to "pootle" for all of about three quarters of a mile before engaging "otter drive".

Normally don't like to see bras on cars (insert joke about rather seeing them on bedroom floor etc here) but yours carried it off well yesterday plus... ...I can see your reason for wanting to protect the paint. Could not believe how gorgeous this car looked in the metal; even the excellent photos on here don't do it justice. Looking forward to seeing it more in the future. Cheers, Ed.

Greatly enjoyed seeing this in the metal yesterday. Lovely colour and in really good nick, I look forward to charting its progress at future meets! Cheers, Ed. -
StueyB and Mariojoshi aka Stu and Josh did a super job in posting a much needed ABS pump to me. Excellently packaged, swiftly delivered and the car is now in fine fettle again! Thanks a lot gentlemen! :thumbleft: Ed.

And no, not the old white one from the Pat and Carl days but a red one in the wilds of Devon in the new one on now. Anyone else spot it/want to claim it as theirs?
-
Best chuftie I've had in ages lately. Always wash the car round at the parents as they have a bigger drive and a more convenient hose point :norty: but I usually clean the windows and black the tires back round at mine. So pull into the parking bit by the garage and next door's lad and his cousin (both about seven years old) are playing football in the space :nono: They do then redeem themselves by eyeing over the motor and as I proceed to dress the tires, the cousin says "Wow - you even polish your tyres! Do you have lots of girlfriends?". Amused I reply "I have one, yes.". He says "Did you get her because of the car?". :D I tried to make out I had other winning qualities too...I think that the lad still thinks it's just the Dub...
-
Slightly belated logging of this spot but does anyone want to claim the dark green Corrado heading south on the M5 on Thursday evening at about seven o'clock between Worcester and Strensham?
-
Had quite a few chufties lately, the champion one being on pulling up to pay my fiver to a member of the local rotary club to park in an office car park on Saturday to go and watch the Warriors play. As I pulled in and lowered the window the mature gent was already smiling and looking the dub over. He said "Well, you've very good taste in cars anyway...five pounds and the gate closes at six. If you're not back I'll happily take the car...it's lovely!". What with that and Worcester staying up, it was a good old afternoon and I got a little worse for wear celebrating it all...

top gear, Sunday 8pm repeated wednesday 7pm BBC2
Mr Sands replied to coolrado's topic in General Car Chat
The 2 messages from episode 1 were "Strictly Come Dancing is crap" and "I LIKE CHEESE" (sadly not I LIKE HAM, but close enough ) The 2 messages from episode 2 were "I VOTED ROSS PEROT", (apparently a reference to an American politician who fell out of the recent presidential race at an early stage?) The second message was "ME SMELL CATS" I would like to point out that I'm not sad enough to have translated them myself, but I did Google them :D But if you are feeling very geeky, this is good fun - http://morsecode.scphillips.com/jtranslator.html .. / .-.. .. -.- . / .... .- -- Now THAT is why this Forum is genius! Good work. -
Hi Pip, just made my way to this thread after spotting your awesome work finding an archived entry in the Spotting thread! Had to rack my brains about that spot, back in June, think I remember where I spotted it then! Glad to see another owner in Worcester, especially one on the Forum. There are one or two of us so we'll look out for you round town. Car looks lovely, always liked Burgundy. If you do see me in the next week or so, ignore how dirty the VR is, she didn't get her usual wash today. Take care, Ed.

Awesome show, best they've done in ages and based on the clips, the rest of the series looks like it'll be tidy. Now, who's going to admit to being an uber geek and trying to decode the Morse signals from the Stig's lap in the Lambo? -
Second hand buying is a dodgy enough experience at the best of times. It makes a one night stand with no protection look like a totally intimate, safe affair. If someone screws you around as much as this, walk away. Once bitten, twice shy. It might be a nice motor but as others have said, there are more out there and being sold by reputable folks (eg a large percentage of this forum's users) rather than dodgy types who don't go through with legal deals and who don't reply to your messages. Just have a think about what else could be wrong with the motor, mechanically, legally and so forth and then ask yourself if you've got the money to burn if it all goes tits up?

Pretty similar to the last post, stopped at Tesco on my way home on Friday night and as tried to duck towards the covered walkway to get out of the rain in the car park, a bloke smoking a ciggy outside his 4x4 called over to me "You're not thinking of selling it are you?". I told him it was my pride and joy and a lovely conversation ensued about the beauties of the 'rado. He'd had two years before, working for V.W. and longed to sell the 4x4 and get another. He really knew his stuff and we happily stood in the drizzle comparing notes before he finished by saying "It's a lovely motor mate, a real credit to you" and got back in with a smile to drive off! Incidentally, his wife was waiting inside the car throughout!!
