Another one bites the dust... - Sod the cost, i need a rado.

Well they came and picked her up today, so i whipped the speedlines on and she looked pretty nice sitting on them. I'm hoping they let me buy her back now as i realise i'll get a pathetic amount of money from the insurance claim, so have to rely on selling parts on to be able to afford another one. I must have another one :mad2: -
Wow thats rather impressive!

did you not see the picture's of the shunted corrado and skid marks leading up to it dude, you may want to check out the start of this thread Exactly! I do believe i have a genuine reason to claim because it was a hell of a smack up the rear and through no fault of my own i'm now off work for a few days and in quite a lot of pain. I don't believe i'm taking the wrong "attitude" at all. Also, this passat i have as the hire car is huuuuuge but very nice to drive. Plus the interior is to just a slightly higher standard than what kharmann screwed together in my corrado. Its pretty nippy off the mark too which is a suprise for the size of the car, and horrible if you have any sort of neck injuries... -

I just got my hire car dropped off and its a very smart new Passat, with lots of toys and shiny bits. Quite pleased i got a dub!! The guy who was dropping the car off said one of his colleagues who also drops off the cars is mad about corrado's and would have hated seeing mine like that. Anyone off here? Albanny group i think they are. -

He just looked shocked, i'm guessing it must be quite a scary experience if you're screaming towards a stationary car knowing you're gonna hit it!! I was fuming but theres no point getting angry at him as it wasn't going to achieve anything. Plus while i was phoning my gf he just got in his car and drove off pretty sharpish without saying anything, i presume he didn't want the police to come! -

Yeah thats exactly where it was! Turning right down into tom longs post towards the W down into nailsworth. My necks hurting loads more now so not sure what to do as the guy was driving like an absolute tw@t and its gonna screw up my work for a few days at least.. I always frown at the adverts for people chasing claims for injuries in minor accidents, but this was quite a shunt!! First time i've been airborne for a while. I'll keep an update of what my insurance company offer me for the car and probably peoples opinions of whether its a fair price. In her prime she was quite a smart car Cheers for the positive comments, it does make me feel better about it  -

Cheers guys, i am totally devastated and after checking in with the doctor today he said i have severe whiplash which is going to get worse over the next few days :( It was a vauxhal estate van of some description, probably an astra that hit me, and yeah he was tanking it! A witness said he must have still be going about 30 when he hit!! I do want to get another one soon, but i'm not sure i'll be able to afford it as i spent every spare penny i earned on that car, and won't get much in the way of an insurance payout i shouldn't think. Just have to wait and see. -

Yeah the interior is in very good condition, wheels are too and with brand new pzero nero's on the front. All the electrics work, or rather did... not sure if the sunroof will still tilt and slide. The only problem is i wouldn't know where to start when it comes to breaking the car for parts, and wouldn't have anywhere to do it. Just don't know what to do now. -
Well i'm sorry to say another corrado was claimed on the roads today, its being picked up by my insurance company tomorrow to be assessed but i think its safe to say its quite obviously a write off :( I was stationary at a junction waiting to turn into a side road in a 40mph limit, heard an awful screeching noise getting louder and knew what was coming. Judging from the skid marks and how hard he still hit me, he must have been traveling well over the limit. Theres quite a large crease in the rear quarter too. The force of the impact popped my radio out, and even sent the trim around the sunroof backwards a couple of inches! The drivers door also seems to have dropped about an inch The skidmarks leading up to where he hit me are pretty lengthy I got all the details i needed and just have to wait and see what happens. I'm absolutely devastated to see my pride and joy in such a state

Yeah really not feeling that, i'm sure it seemed a good idea before they actually went to all the effort of doing it...
-
That clip angered me lots.

Awww the video has been removed!! Never got to see it :(

Yeah i've not seen seat belts like that before. I believe the us spec rado's had electric seat belts? Not really understanding how they work from that picture. But as already mentioned the car looks very very smart. Enjoy!

Hmmm... not exactly. Its still using oil quite steadily, but it doesn't seem to be smoking much or getting any worse. I'm getting some kent cams of a fella on here so when they go in, gonna change the valve guide seals too hoping to see an improvement in the oil consumption and if thats the case i know its a valve guide thats worn, and not a piston ring :?

I was digging through the pictures i took the other night and found two more i liked, a bit samey i know but i'll stick em anyway cos i like them :) Even if you can see my dirty windscreen

Well as you mention it i did see a dragon green corrado with cream interior on here a while ago, and it did look rather tastey! But i think the cloth wears so much better, i'm tempted to stick with it for now at least. I'm planning to buy a cheap run around to get to work and back so i don't stick the miles, and lots of wood dust on the corrado. Then i can really start to play around with the old girl.

I'm just really tall khurrado Took both seats out so i could give it all a good vacuum and clean as its used everyday it soon gets a bit mucky.
-
I do have some interior shots, i'll dig em out. Its standard black cloth interior, but the seats are in very good shape even if i do say so myself :) *Edit* I found some pictures but they're awful camera phone pictures... I'll have a play at the weekend and see if i can get some half decent shots.

Thanks for the positive comments! I just bought myself a Fuji S6500fd, and i'm pretty pleased with it so far, just messing around with it when i get the chance to as currently i know nothing about photography but i'm eager to learn. If i get any interesting pictures of my car in the future i'll stick em up in here. Not sure where to host hi res pics cata, photobucket scales them down i think. Plus people usually moan if you have enormous pictures.

That is an utter shitter

Thought i'd post up some more recent pictures of my car as i've just bought a new camera. Its been 10 months since i bought it and i've achieved a few of the things i'd intended... Got it lowered and sitting on some nicer wheels among other things, and i'm very happy with the results :D Still experimenting with the camera but just figured i'd either get some support or utter slating, any feedback is lovely

What program was that using?

Squeaking whine sound, didn't last long though.
grimmy replied to grimmy's topic in General Car Chat
I forgot to take it into my usual garage to have it checked out after the whine cropping up in the first place... As it had stopped i forgot about it. Now he's coming out to my house to have a look and replace the tensioner pulley and cambelt :( I have some Kent cams on the way which will now have to wait untill next month to be fitted it think. Rubbish! -
On the way down to Southampton at the weekend my car started making a rather strange squealing noise at certain speeds, so dropped into an independant vw garage that didn't have a clue what it was but sprayed some wd40 about and it stopped. Driving back from work yesterday it came back very briefly, then there was a crashing under the bonnet and the fan belt started slipping like crazy... That'll teach me to forget about things :( Tensioner Pulley wasn't turning at all!!

I'm not sure i can class myself as a dubber yet, but i stick my nose up at anything that isn't vag... I had a polo gt before this but being as young as i am haven't dabbled with many others. I definatly want to have a play around with a mk1 golf, and a mk1 rocco. Theres a big dub scene around my area, everyone has golfs, caddys and polo's.
