  1. It would appear my Headlight Switch has finally packed in, I have two questions:- What is the difference between the early and late switches, as it would appear I have an early switch in my 94 VR6, and want to be sure I by the right switch? What is the best way to get these out of the dash without dismantling the dash in the process? Thanks in advance.
  2. Thats about right, £1400 for the Head Rebuild, Clutch and Chains all at once, Vince quoted me that as well. As to the VW garage in Stoke, a freind of mine knows someone with one up that area, not saying its the same one, but the referance was not too wonderful.......and I'm not trying to start a bun fight, before it kicks off in here, just sharing the knowledge.
  3. Hmm, strange I got quoted £750 for the Clutch and Chains, can't remember if that was inc vat or not, by Vince just recently.............
  4. Turns out that price is ex VAT! Muppets!
  5. Got a price from VW today on a clutch £150 as an exchange part, £20 back on return of your old one...good to the environment and all that pants!
  6. Mine was about the same when I changed up to that size wheel/tyre, it just felt a little more sluggish and harsh. Got used to it now but considering dropping down to 16s to get back some of whats been lost.
  7. Mine started to judder after refitting them while installing a new scuttle panel, loosened of the nut just a touch attaching them to the spindle and that sorted it. They don't need to be super tight, just enough to hold them.
  8. Nightmare, Just checked with them for a tracking number myself, only to be informed that they are very busy and it will be a few days before they dispatch it. Never simple!
  9. I used Pay Pal, postage was $54 from grip force, and they send it as gift.
  10. Look for "gripforce-clutches" on ebay, I just bought one from them £199 shipped to the UK on UPS 4 - 10 day service. Even with import costs its gonna be cheaper. If they don't have one up just now email them as they put them up regular.
  11. Perfect, and straight to the point! 8) Thanks.
  12. Seen a Fidanza Flywheel for sale, part number 187481, the question I have is the the complete item or will I require other items to have it fitted?
  13. Mines a Fiat Stilo 1.9 JTD, nice and gutsy for what it is, but drives like a pig, steering is super light with absolutely no belief in where you might end up at speed.

To true BigTartanJudge, dunno about the copyright but the price is about the same. Most of the unpainted ones look very much alike the unpainted on the site I mentioned though, only difference is they also do a chromed one........
  16. Had my TT 500 for about a year now, great bit of kit haven't been lost since buying it. Still tempted to upgrade to a new one though! :D As for the speed cameras, DO NOT USE TOM TOM's OWN DATABASE!!! ITS PANTS!!!! (Sorry for shouting but it is...) Instead goto http://www.pocketgpsworld.com and pay the small sum of £20, for this you will recieve access the their monthly updated database, which other than the odd roadworks camera is very very accurate, for one year. Was thinking of hard wiring mine to the cigarette lighter and running the cable up behind the dash, anyone tried this, think it would work?? Hope that helps.
  17. I've got Pirreli P7000 on all 4 corners, stunning dry weather grip, like being glued to the road. Not so hot in the wet, wet road holding is ok, a bit slippery and lots of wheels spin in high revs, even when moving at 30ish MPH!!!!!

I posted a link a little while ago to a german site that does remake ones, very similar to the original, bought a full set for when I get the respray done... Unfortunately not at my own computer so can't repost it just now.....time for the search..... :D
  19. Mine did this months ago, still not back on. Dunno where it stands with all the new computerised carry on as they know if you have or have not from your reg plate....anyone know???
  20. No idea when the fluid was last changed, bought the rado from a dealer about 8 months ago, with lots of service history but not a great deal of information on anything else........ Bit of a mechanical newby, where should I be looking? What needs replaced if it is the slave cylinder and more to the point how much will it cost!? Realised all in I'm about 2/3 of the way to an R32 with what I've spent on the rado!!!!! Love the rado would never part with it out of choice, but days like this make me sad.... :( :(
  21. The clutch pedal on my 94 VR6 sticks down and has to be lifted with my foot. Normally only happens early in the morning. Difference is today it was doing it when I set off, then eased off with regular round town changing, went for a longish run on the M4, on coming off the slip road the clutch was sticking again, parked up and left it for about 2 hours. Came back, still sticking, once on the motorway again, in fifth gear when I ease of the accelerator pedal the clutch pedal is being pulled down to the floor without me touching it..... Any ideas would be greatly appreciated, need the car for run from Swindon to Glasgow Friday????

    Azev A's

They are well tasty on a Rado!! Love my set I got from OSV......... Last time I checked with a wheel suppliers they were talking in the region of £200 a wheel, new, about a year ago as they find it hard to stock them anymore.
  23. I got mine off E-Bay, off an Audi TT 225 almost brand new, the guy regularly puts sets up. Just search for "312mm brakes" normally brings up something. As for fitting, save yourselves a head ache and speak to one of the VW specialists......goodrich hoses, bleeding the ABS and Brakes, washers, spacers.......ouch there goes my head.. :D
  24. Not got a recording, but on day to day round town driving its not too loud at all, give it some in low gear it roars enough to turn heads!!! On the motorway when cruising its hardly noticable over general motorway noise, again though give it some gas and it becomes a subtle growl. In general I don't find it any louder, and sometimes possibly a little quieter, than the standard VW air box & Filter that mine replaced. Hope that helps a little.
  25. BMC CDA rocks, definately an improvement on standard. Improves performance, sounds great and looks sweet.
